Same bad experience like others. Paid £5.95 for a one-off vehicle report just checked my card statement today and i've been charged £39.90 with no prior information or notice, not sure why this charge has been made. I will be cautious of using this company again and would not reccommend.

"I strongly advise against using this company's services. My experience was a complete disaster. A company that claims to be experts in car inspections failed to provide even basic auction photos, which is a standard procedure in this industry.
I feel cheated because the report was superficial and provided no real insight into the vehicle's condition. There are many other much better and more professional companies on the market that treat their customers honestly. Don't waste your time or money on them. They are completely untrustworthy!"

I cotacted this company via their website in November to do a hpi check on a car l was buying, l paid the £5.95 fee for this service, l have just found out that they have been taking £39,90 out of my bank since December, l contacted my bank and stopped all further payments, there is nothing on their website that tells you up front that you will be then have a monthly subscription with this company, they are clearly SCAMMING people, l will be taking this further, checking companies house for directors addresses and l will then have my day.

The same as others have commented, I spent £5.95 on a one off car check and the next day they've taken £39.90 out of my account and are refusing to refund me as they advised "After the end of this period as shown and mentioned on our website, our premium service is automatically charged as a monthly subscription for £39.90"
I DID NOT see any "mention" of this as it appears all the other customers saying the same didn't either!!!

Avoid at all costs. Certainly not transparent. Thought I was paying for a one off for a vehicle check on Saturday 17th January 26 for the reduced price of £5.95. I got the report for vehicle I had requested via email. Now today 19th Jan 26 the company are taking £35 for a subscription I never wanted and certainly didnt think I had signed up to. At no stage did I receive an email to say I had subscribed and would be charged further monies. I emailed the company to unsubscribe and requested a refund. The unsubscription has been acknowledged and I'm told no further payments will come out of my bank. However, the request for refund has been left unanswered. I have sent company a further email for clarification. Again avoid this company at all costs unless you want a subscription with them. Cannot believe how many others are complaining of the same thing. Wish I jad read the reviews before my original purchase.

Paid £5.95 for a car check. Got an email with log in details that didn’t work, clicked reset password eventually go into account but no report, an invoice on the account but I have not seen the report I have paid for. My account then said suspended. Read the reviews on here and now going through my bank to make sure I don’t get charged £39 - this isn’t explained to you when you pay for the initial check. Awful company, searched Car Vertical & this company came up using wrong advertising. Bad customer service - premium cost phone line do not call them & get charged more. Scam.

Paid the one of fee of like £5 then to realise i had been charged for a subscription fee of over £30 which i never saw or even agreed to, absolutely scam am still waiting on them getting back to me on a refund I asked for! Zero stars... and apparently fraudulent, unless they can convince me otherwise. I was called by my bank yesterday to query a payment of £39.90 from an entity describing itself as HP*carcheking. (later research indicates that this seems to be a misguiding version of HPIcarchecking. I said I had no dealings with them. My bank asked if I had made an initial payment of £5.95 on 15/9/25 which was then followed 3 days later by a charge of £39.90 each month through until now (Jan 2026). I explained I had not spotted those charges as I have been unwell ever since then. I also told them I had not even taken that initial £5.95 offer so whoever signed me up with this company was fraudulent and somehow had access to my credit card details. As a result, they have taken around £160 from my account before the bank spotted it. How is this company allowed to continue, and apparently to keep adjusting its ID for the online payments to evade follow-up. I see references online to carchecking.com and also car-checking.com. If there is a genuine company out there being misrepresented by crooks, they should do something to stop it. If there is no such genuine company, then the crooks need to be arrested.

Same experience as everybody else. Paid £5.95 for a one-off vehicle report and two days later Santander contacted me to report unusual activity - £39.90 - on my credit card. Thankfully it was caught before anything was paid out and I have emailed the company to point out the erroneous charges, and confirm that I did not agree to pay for any other products or services. I received a free car check
I received a free car check, no where did it say this is a subscription charge of £39.90. The check I did get was inaccurate and missing crucial important data so I was not confident in getting this car. 2 days there’s a charge out of my bank, I did not sign up for this and it did not say this on the website. If I would have know this I would have not used this service. Now I have read the reviews now I am going to dispute this as this is not the service I wanted. I used this service to obtain a report on my vehicle before selling. The pdf report cost £5.95.
Upon receiving the report, not only did I notice that the report was inaccurate and missing significant information but they went on to charge me an additional £39.90 without any notification of this charge or having purchased anything further.
Avoid this company as it seems thus is common practice for them.
