Castlegrade Avis 365

I've tried lots of disposable masks but this is one of only two elastomerics I've tried and for me it's unwearable. I have a small female face and bought the small size.

Issues are:

1) the attachment point where the headstrap meets the mask body (only one) is positioned so that the "rim" of the mask is pushed hard against your face and this pushes flesh against teeth inside the mouth. The standard length strap supplied with the small size mask is too short; even on the longest setting, meaning strong pressure against the face. Very uncomfortable.

2) I could not get a good seal around the nose, reliably, no matter what I tried. I have a small and narrow nose and the mask gaped no matter how I positioned or tensioned it.

3) The strap is single where it attaches to the mask, then divides and is supposed to go one strap above and one below the ear. But the two sections of the strap are not independently adjustable and the lower strap sags and the upper strap slides down over the ears when you have long hair, and ends up too low on the head. If the higher strap is positioned above the occiput as is usual for N95 masks, the angle is wrong and because of the single attachment point the mask gapes even more around the nose, while the lower part of the divided strap, again, is loose.

4) The surface area of the filter through which air can pass is very small, meaning that there is high breathing resistence.

5) It is almost impossible for people to hear me speaking in this mask.

6) I have not worn it for long enough to be sure, but I suspect the mask would accumulate condensation if used for long periods; it feels clammy even after a few minutes.

Including postage I paid $80AUD for this, and I regret the purchase.

I did not bother contacting castlegrade to express dissatisfaction with their product as they were emphatic with their "no returns" policy. Unusually these days, there was no followup email to seek feedback.

We never got the product and the company didn't resolve the issue. The owner insults people (referring to weight when that often doesn't even correspond with face and head size/shape) and the company makes claims that are simply not true. The owner is fat shaming instead of recognizing issues with their mask. They failed at least the breathability testing for N95 certification and made it seem as though not getting certification has to do with being American based. The surface area of the filter is simply too small for them to have had a chance of passing. I got robbed $72.24 from them and as you can see from other reviews, others have experienced the same!

VERY POOR SERVICE.
I ordered two masks and additional refills for a trip we were taking (on a plane).
Ordered well in advance of their delivery schedule (listed on their website) and the masks didn't arrive until we were already gone!!

I wanted a refund, they just continued to send some BS email about they have no control over their shipping (why put shipping times/days on their site then???).

When I decided to try one of the masks on it doesn't fit properly and they still won't refund.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER MORE REPUTABLE PROVIDERS FOR MASKS....

Sent multiple emails on Instagram, Facebook, and their direct emails addresses . I haven’t got an response at all and it is going on months now . I got their mask strap and it is breaking haven’t been an year on yet on it . Love their mask but, very , very disappointed on their customer service and it is no phone number to even call to reach them. It is best to stay away from companies that you can’t contact after you buy their product. And before I had an issue with them on missing the strap and someone was kind to send one out now you can’t get any response.

The mask is fine, but I ordered a large number of replacement filters (25) and was shipped 5. I sent evidence of this over email multiple times over the next month and have never heard back from them. The 25 pack is 53 dollars and I was sent a 5 pack which is 12. Customer service wont email back and no refund has been issued for the 40 dollars of product I wasn't given. If you want a reusable mask, try a company who wont scam you out of 40 dollars.

Received four masks today for two adults. The masks are useless, no seal, so air simply passes around the mask, not through the filter. Their return policy does not allow for returns based on fit or effectiveness, in effect allowing them to sell to new customers without having to pay back money when the masks are received.

I ordered and paid for a reusable respirator from Castle. The items never arrived. They told me to chase it up with the courier. I politely informed them that was their job. They then stopped responding to me emails. Seems like here I'm not the only one this has happened to.

This company did not send me the ear loops that I ordered and paid for. For 3 weeks I been contacting them with a photo of the receipt. They refuse to email me back and they don’t allow phone contact.
Heads up.

This company is garbage. They made masks and sold them for a good long while, then a time later (a year?) they made carrying cases for these masks and marketed them as such. Now…all the sudden, they are saying these cases “improve the efficacy” of the filters?!?!? Seriously? My opinion is this is a marketing ploy. They NEVER said the mask filters degraded when stored on a shelf or drawer before that case was made. Actually, I don’t believe they said that when they made the cases either. So now…our mask filters aren’t as effective without this case? It’s complete bullsh!t. This company is so poorly run, their product is sub par, my mask fogs up my glasses…don’t waste your money or your time with these people. These masks are so not worth it. I’m sure I’ll get a rage response as is their childish M.O.

I love these masks. They are comfortable. They are reusable. The can produce a good seal which is necessary for the fit test. One can throw them in the dishwasher. They are FDA and NIOSH approved. They have children's sizes. Considering the new Delta Variant for COVID-19, this is the mask one should be wearing. You do have to fool with the straps to get the right strap and the right fit.

By far the safest mask I’ve ever worn. Every time I wear it I feel completely safe. I haven’t gotten a runny nose in two years since buying it.

I can't say enough about Castlegrade's products and customer service. The masks are easy to use and so comfortable! I work in healthcare in a field with high risk for COVID exposure. These masks are so much more comfortable than the disposable N95 masks I've been wearing for the past year and a half. Not only that, but when there was a hiccup with my order, their customer service was quick to respond and fixed the issue right away. Such a pleasant, stress-free experience! I'll definitely be recommending Castlegrade to all my co-workers and friends who want a mask with a bit more protection.

So happy to finally have a Castle Grade G9 mask. I have been looking at these for a while and finally purchased one in preperation of starting to do business air travel again. After having COVID twice in the past year I am finally vacinated. This mask will give me additional peace of mind while flying and spending time at the airport. The seal feels solid and the fit is mostly comfortable. My favorite feature is that my glasses do not fog up. This will be important when navigating airports and reading on flights. I do hope that they release a slightly deeper size at one point. My nose is a little larger than most so the tip of my nose contacts the point where the stiff plactic filter holder conects to the silicon mask. This is slightly uncomfortable. This is the only reason for the 4 stars. I will place some surgical tape over this area to smooth it out. Other than that it is a well made product and has two great strap options.

After using my G9 mask on two cross country flights I now have a revision to my original review. Wearing the mask for airport and flight time totallying 10 hours each flight I feel that I need to mention a couple things. First this wearing this mask in the airport and flight made me feel extremely safe and confident that I was breathing in filtered air and my exhale was filtered as well. No other mask I have owned has made me feel this confident and safe. Unfortunalty this comes at a trade off for comfort. As I mentioned in the original review if you have a larger head/ nose this mask is uncomfortable especially during long periods of continuos wear. The tip of my nose felt raw after 10 hours of wear. Castle Grade really needs an XL version. If they release one I will get one. If you fit inside this mask and your nose tip dose not contact the mask then this is by far the best mask...period. The over the head strap is extremely comfortable for long periods of wear especially with over the ear headphones on. Despite what other reviews say you can expect your voice to be very very muffled. The less you have to talk wearing this mask the better. Most people Had a hard time understanding my words.
I will recomend having a cloth or surcical mask with you to wear over the G9 when clearing security and boarding the plane. Three times I was told I could not use this mask in the airport and aboard the plane because vented masked are not allowed. After trying to explain the mask construction at the TSA checkpoint the first time I found it easier just to double mask if questioned and remove the second mask later on. Most people still look at this as a vented mask even though that is the furthest from the truth. Perhaps front grill design change could aleviate some confusion. I know they have a letter stating the construction and filtration ratings of this mask to present to TSA and airline officials but at Newark airport and most major airports it is extremely chaotic and busy, so trying to convince the officials that this mask is constructed better than anything they are wearing is not easy or conveinent. Especially when your voice is muffled under the mask.
Bottom line this mask made me fell confident and safe no matter how crowded the travel conditions were. Unfortunatly it is very uncomfortable for my facial features and I will use it very sparingly.

Quick and personal responses to my email questions and concerns. Quick shipping. Mask works very well. Makes me feel safer than any other mask against the delta variation of the coronavirus. I love that it is reusable to save the environment from single use masks. I highly recommend this mask. My son and his wife and two children also recommend them especially since one of the boys has asthma which is viral induced and cannot risk getting Covid. I love that the mask is now FDA approved as well.

The customer service is exceptionally poor. Emails are no responded to and concerns are ignored.

Was a blessing to have stumbled across Castlegrade company. They make the best reusable masks and cases for storage. Don’t have to worry about glasses fogging up, masks slipping off, adjustments or bruising! So comfortable to wear all day while seeing clients in the treatment room and definitely feel much safer! Their products are superior and customer service is outstanding! You guys rock! Thank you for making my family and I feel safer AND going green! ❤️

Love my mask and the service I have gotten with castlegrade. I have had a few different masks and none can compare. It’s light, doesn’t fog my glasses up, affordable and well made, and most of all keeps me safe, I feel so much safer and protected in this mask.

I bought 2 masks. They do not fit around the nose, air leaks so it can not be used as a replacement of a N95. It took 5 weeks to receive the complete order. Customer service is not available.

Customer service is poor. There is no direct phone number you could reach out. You would have to wait for their email reply which is always automatic. If you measured medium, I would highly recommend going for a small size.

I wanted to look at the reviews on TrustPilot before buying their masks. I've been eyeing the product for a while but I have a few reliable masks. I wanted something less wasteful that had a better seal. After reading their responses to customer reviews, I want nothing to do with this company. It seems like Castle Grade customer service is run by insolent toddlers. Not sure what's going on there but it really doesn't help the company image and deters potential buyers.
