Busses 99% on time
Busses are usually 99% on time! Cheaper then air coach! Seats aren’t as comfy as the air coach but still very good value for money
Waiting at the airport for over two…
Waiting at the airport for over two hours because City link only does a multi stop trip every 2hours ! This is ridiculous waiting time when there is a non stop going every hour to Galway! Having two hours of a gap on the multi stop in this day and age is useless!! The county people are over looked all the time!
Rip off and faulty app
Booked a return journey via the app and it checked out at 27 EUR one-way. Although return ticket would be 2x21, 42 EUR.
Zero customer service, was told it's my fault and they would not amend ticket although I'm not travelling until June 2nd, 10 days ahead. Absolute shambles.
So now they want 54 EUR for 2 single journeys instead of 42.
App is subterrestrial, don't be bothered downloading it.
Myself and a large number of family…
Myself and a large number of family members arrived to Dublin airport on a Ryanair flight from a wedding in Italy and we got to the citylink bus with our bags and we were a couple of minutes late as our plane was delayed.
There was ample room for all passengers on the bus but the driver refused to allow any of us to board the coach even though we had prebooked a return to galway over a week ago.
Yes we were late you can say but we couldn't have any control because of our flight delay.
Your bus driver was one rude individual to say the least, no way did he want to help us out in any way. He didn't want the bother of checking us onto the bus in my opinion. Just get the next bus he said. You are late and I am going. We would have loaded our own bags and cases but he wouldn't have it.
A rude ignorant individual. Our bus time was the 9 15pm and prebooked.
He left and the next bus arrived. The driver and a helper on this bus again said that the bus was booked up but he made a call to the office and he got as many of us on board as he could.
A lovely helpful man and willing to help as much as he possibly could and he did so.
First driver left with a half full bus. There were plenty of seats empty leaving and no way was he going to fill them.
2nd driver had a full bus load and got us to galway safe and sound.
Maybe someone should have a word with the 1st driver. He's not suitable for the job he's doing if citylink cares anything about customers which at the end of the day is what we are!!
Unclean
3 hour journey from Dublin to Cork (2.30pm) with a constant whaft of stale urine. It's just unacceptable to not clean out the toilet before/after a shift starts. Prefer to use city link over aircoach, simply because there's always a nicer crowd on this bus but this situation has really put a stain on that choice going forward.
Compliments
I’ve to compliment the Limerick driver who drove our coach to the airport on the early morning service, but I saw someone walking around the bus while he was driving and he got an awful fright from them creeping up on the driver like they did and scared him. I see they’ve left a review before mine. Fair play to the driver for asking the question. Would you leave your seat in a car while it’s in motion?
I will never use Citylink again
I will never use Citylink again and would suggest you try using another service.
The Limerick to Dublin bus had a driver that could only communicate in an impossible to understand grunt.
I thought the bus was double decker as I had walked up stairs.
Later on I was trying to find the toilet which I assumed was on the bottom floor. When I went down the stairs I realised that there was nothing down there.
As I was about to go back up the bus driver turned as if I had shocked/frightened him and asked what was wrong?.
I asked where the toilet was and he barked at me "back of the bus" and "don't ever do that again". It was a simple mistake.
On the return journey I was met with an almost full bus.
Plenty of people sat with a bag on one chair looking down trying to hold on to their two seats.
Not one offered me a seat.
The very front seat on the opposite side to the driver had one young women sitting there so I went and sat down.
Bus driver told me "move to the back of the bus" and I said "Why?". He just replied "noooooo".
Two minutes later he allowed another lady to sit there.
Two journeys and disrespected twice as if I were a brazen teenager.
Never ever again.
If you are reading this review, pay attention and book elsewhere.
It's not worth it.
I was literally fuming.
Terrible timing of their service
Terrible timing of their service. I am a frequent user of the 763 and this bus never is according to the timetable it always between 30 and 50 min behind schedule. Really CityLink you should do better!!
Night 721 from Castlebar to Dublin…
Night 721 from Castlebar to Dublin Airport on April 27h. Great, great journey. Safe travel with a very good, very nice and very professionnal driver.
Absolute Rip Off
Severe price gouging. One of the highest prices in Europe. Taking advantage of the lack of goverment investment in public transport. I'll take the train thanks.

The bus driver made this a great experience! He's an older man from Cork. Very friendly and accommodating to everyone.
Website is unusable- constantly…
City Link Website is terrible slow ****- constantly glitches and takes forever to load, or just freezes forcing you to start the tedious booking process all over again.
5 ***** for the driver on 7.55 am…
5 ***** for the driver on 7.55 am Castlebar to Dublin Airport bus on Saturday 05/04/25. The most pleasant, patient and extremely helpful man. Was very kind and respectful to all passengers and particularly helpful to those with limited mobility. A pleasure to travel with him.
Terrible communication, unreliable outlets, runs late
Citylink services are reliable up to a point.
For about a year now I have been regularly using the Galway-Dublin service back and forth multiple times a month in different times of the day.
Here is what I find:
- Bus leaves Galway on time but is consistently 15 minutes late, or more, to final destination in Bachelor's Walk. First time I booked it I arrived late at a job and nearly lost a very important client, but now I know to consider this ~15min standard deviation.
- Power outlets are advertised and I (as well as many other passengers that I've met) count on them for work in transit. However, they only work about 50% of the times. The other 50% they are either non existent or just dead. Drivers can be less than courteous when asked about it so tread carefully. The way I see it, we are paying for a service that may or may not be delivered with no explanation or compensation. Bottom line is: do not rely on Citylink and bring your own power bank if you absolutely need to charge a device.
- There is a chance that the bus you have booked will not finish or even start the journey: I have been reallocated to other buses that would alledgedly arrive earlier than the one I had booked, which turned out not to be true. I have also had to hop down from a bus mid-journey and board another one for reasona that seldom get properly communicated. On top of the discomfort of hopping off a bus in the middle of the road and then re-boarding another one that is already full of passengers, this comes with added delays. Once again, if your travel is time-sensitive do not rely on their arrival estimates and take into account a possible 15-30min delay.
- While most of the time the digital timetables in the bus stations are correct, it pays to verbally double check with the driver that the bus you have climbed on is actually heading towards your destination. I have once boarded a bus that had no front sign saying its destination, but which seemed correct judging by the time and the digital timetable on the bus station in Crampton Quay, Dublin. I was headed for Galway and the bus driver did check my ticket and gave me the green light to board the bus - 3 hours later I discovered that bus was headed for Tuam. I was not the only passenger that night that got fooled by the company's precarious communication - and thankfully so because it was past midnight and we had to walk through Tuam by ourselves looking for a taxi that would eventually bring us to Galway and charge us a small fortune for it, which should have left Citylink's bank account and not ours. Upon contacting customer support about it, the case was shrugged off as our own fault for boarding the wrong bus - I am left wondering what is the point of a digital timetable and the bus driver checking our tickets upon boarding the vehicle, and why on Earth did Citylink not bother to display the bus' destination on the front letterings.
- Prices are rather abusive, but I suppose that's what you get when there's so little (if any) competition for the same product in the market.
Over all, the service is passable and better than nothing but hard to trust without having contingencies in place at all times. I advise to cover yourself, prefer to arrive early than on time, and if any problems should arise from the travel my experience tells me that reaching out to them will only bring about further frustration and a certain degree of disrespect.

Customer service
I am writing an e-mail asking about their company, about their vouchers that do not work on their websites, and I cannot get an answer, they do not reply,
Citylink I wanna thank you for having…
Citylink I wanna thank you for having the best employees especially drawing attention to the man called Paul in Galway who drove me on the 5th of march at17:30 after I misssed my stop with 7 miles and he took his time to make sure I am safe which is why I say Paul represented a good employee for the city link because not so many employee’s will be willing to drive 7 miles to get you safe at home especially because of the job that Paul is doing. I don’t know if I am grateful or luck but I would have took my last cent to appreciate. Paul you deserve this I give you 6 star cause you one in a million
