Dawes Doors Avis 

I booked Dawes Doors at 23:00 on a Monday evening and they were with me by 10:00 the very next morning, with the job fully completed by 10:40.

I’m extremely happy with the service. Daniel, our engineer, was polite, professional, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. Everything was completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Excellent response time and great customer service — highly recommended.

Unfortunately we had a problem with our garage door and it wouldn't close fully. I called Dawes Doors at 9am to ask if they could send someone out to fix our it so that it would be secure. They booked an engineer in and told me I would get a phone call about 1hr before they would attend. I called their customer service team a couple of times in the day to confirm our job was still on the list and was told we would be the next one around 4pm, my second call was at 1.45pm. Then at 14.02pm I received an automated message to say that the engineer had been delayed and would no longer be attending. I called customer service to be told "alls I can do is request another engineer in the area but it's very unlikely at 2pm on a Friday they would be available" So on a Friday afternoon at 2pm I had to scramble to find another company to come and repair our garage door. I got lucky and found another company who had availability thank goodness.It is appalling service to just leave customers in the lurch after 5 hours of waiting. You call Dawes Doors but I am very sure they contract the work out to others and the people that attend are not going to be Dawes Doors employees, watch out for this company and don't use them.

Didn't realize when I agreed for them to send an engineer to assess our garage door that it was being subcontracted out to another company (GDF) that then completely ripped us off with pressure tactics that meant despite parts being no more than £15 and labour time of 45 mins we were made to pay £255. Feel ripped off and stupid. Cleverly they use local phone codes to make you think you are dealing with a local company - they are not local. Buyer beware.

Avoid this company at all costs. Engineer arrived in a plain white van, told us he would be able to fix it there and then, agreed a price. Couldn't so would have to order a part and then started a protracted and involved back and forth with them scheduling dates for the repair but it never actually happening. After almost 2 weeks of this, I eventually cancelled and looked elsewhere. Another company has been able to get it fixed in 2 days for less than half the price this lot quoted. I'm disappointed I lost the £30 call out but pleased they didn't get any more of our business. Very unprofessional and very poor communication

I called for help. I couldn't get into my garage.

Within 24 hours I was given all the information I needed to make product decisions, given costs, had an engineer on my drive, explored all alternatives with the highly knowledgeable man and within an hour parts replaced and my door was back to working like new.

Far too expensive. Despite sacrificing the call-out charge (broke my golden rule to avoid these), the alternative repairer who called the following day came in well below Dawes' telephoned revised price.

I had an emergency with my garage door and needed if repairing quickly as the door was hanging on one hinge and couldn't be closed.
I contacted Dawes Doors, I spoke to someone who said an engineer would be with me by the afternoon. The engineer arrived within 2 hours and it was repaired and working again within an hour. I was very impressed with their service, updates on engineer arrival, customer service and workmanship.
Would definitely recommend.
