In stock? 'Maybe' When will I get it? 'Out of our hands'
I think its best to treat parts advertised on their website as "We might have this in stock, we might not, but we can probably get it... sometime".
If they have the part, everything runs smoothly, if they have to 'get it from someone' you may come up against the same problem as me... I ordered a few parts, (no indication when ordering, that DIY Spare Parts did not have the items in stock). A fortnight later I chased them up to be told 'We're still waiting for your parts from the manufacturer', 'How long will that be?' I asked... got the answer (and I'm paraphrasing the waffle) 'Its out of our hands'.
I'm reminded of the 80's, when we had to phone a company up (only during office hours, obvs), wait in a queue, speak to a person and tie up their time and yours determining the availability and delivery times of each and every part. Perhaps splitting an order with another company to ensure you got the parts quickly. I think DIY Spare Parts are best dealt with on this basis. I'm sure they're not all sitting round in bell bottoms and platform shoes and listening to Radio 1 on the wireless. but the picture does pop into my head when dealing with them.
Perhaps DIY Spare Parts could ponder what value they bring to the shopping experience, that beats companies who invest in websites that accurately reflect stock levels and delivery times, and can be checked/ordered from at any time of the day or night? Those are companies where DIY Spare Parts' claim 'your spare parts are only a click away' more correctly applies.

Dear Mr Morris, our apologies for the delay on your order. With 2.5 million parts available, it is clearly not possible to keep everything in stock and things that are in stock obviously go in and out of stock. We then have to restock from the manufacturer. Normally this only takes a couple of days, but clearly, if the manufacturer is also waiting for stock to come in, then we have to wait for them to supply the parts.
Brexit customs regulations now mean deliveries to manufacturers from the EU take 3 weeks, as opposed to just 3 days and if there are supply chain issues, or customs issues, then you can see where the delays start to build up. The timing of your order has unfortunately fallen within that period, as the manufacturer already had the parts on order, they just have not arrived with them as yet.
I have requested an update on the ETA of the two outstanding parts of the six ordered and will advise accordingly when I hear back.

Despite some bad reviews we went ahead…
Despite some bad reviews we went ahead and ordered a spare part for our old OleoMac. Their Website said it was in Stock but after we had paid, we were informed that they would have to order this part from the Manufacturer. We spoke to Jon and told them were returning to NZ and he said that he would send it there when it arrived at no extra cost. After nearly three weeks later the part arrived in NZ. You can't say fairer than that. Following this first experience with the company, we would definetly consider using them again. Thanks Jon

All problems gone with Briggs Bits
Found Briggs Bits online and called hopefully they assist me on identifying an issue with an engine on My elderly father’s lawn mower.
Colin took control of the ownership of my issues, having mag the engine no available he gave sensible solutions to possible issues. As the main issue was poor fuel ( no additive eg fuel fit) with new correct petrol mix. Thankfully all working well. Thanks to Briggs Bits for the help and going the extra mile.

Lawnmower parts came quickly and well packed. Their communications were not brilliant. No estimate of delivery time when order accepted so some anxiety for me over delivery timing. Telephone number useless although published on invoice etc. Rather silly automated replies on telephone. "You call is important to us..." several times but no human or recording machine.

Also just had bad experience with diyspareparts (Vision Spares Ltd). Tried to order 2 cables but after 4 weeks of chasing and either being ignored or misinformed I had to ask for my money back. That was also ignored and only got refund via a PayPal dispute claim. donnylu has it right: next to no customer service, incapable of supplying all but the most common of parts. I wasted a month. Thanks for nothing diyspareparts. My advice: avoid them, there are other parts suppliers.
Bullshet response still waiting for a refund. NO REFUND yet

Hello Mike, this is simply not true and will be flagged to Trustpilot. You ordered 2 cables, one of which was dispatched after 7 working days, which you received. The second cable had not arrived, as the supersession had not been picked up and has been refunded to you along with the carriage charge on the order as you requested.

I ordered parts from DIY on June 2nd 2023. It's now June 23 and still have no idea where the parts are. I've been trying to contact them for almost 3 weeks and only get a standard reply that they are being shipped. If you are thinking of ordering something from this web site I highly suggest you look for an alternative.

Hi Doug, Apologies for the delay on your order. Manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand this year as it is so busy, so orders coming in from them can take a little longer currently. Your order was dispatched on 19th June and as we are in the UK and you are in the US, delivery is not going to be next day. Current postal services to the US are taking 7-14 working days, so it should be with you shortly. Urgently need parts for my lawnmower. Order placed, money taken & Invoice emailed to me 9 days ago. Not heard anything since? Impossible to contact - I've phoned many times but never gets answered, emailed & used the contact form on the website. Is this a scam??
**UPDATE**
DIY Spare Parts eventually contacted me and all parts were received. (I'm not sure if my negative review had anything to do with that?) All parts were good quality, were correct and at a good low price. Not sure why it took so long to reply ? I don't really think saying that you are busy is a valid excuse.

Hi Mark, oh dear, how easy it is to try mislead other customers.
During your call this morning, it was very clearly explained to you that the part was orderable, but the manufacturer was out of stock and was waiting for more stock to be manufactured. As soon as they supplied the part, we would send it to you.
We had no problem leaving the part on order, or refunding it for you, but when asked what you would like to do, you became angry and abusive.
If you happened to find someone who had one in stock, then that is great and we are very pleased for you. To be honest, if you feel you can speak to our staff the way you did, when they were only trying to do their best for you, we would rather you used someone else for your parts anyway.
