Do not rent - SCAM ALERT
Same as everyone else here says. It’s a scam. I was shocked to see this happened to so many others. I returned a car in the same condition it was rented to me and was accused of a “small scratch” to the tune of $1800! Do not rent from this company.
1 star as not possible to give 0
Helvetic Motion AG at Basel Airport is an absolute scam in my opinion, charged me 484.65 CHF for less than 1cm of tiny scratch on side of the mirror, claiming 250CHF damage amount, 100 CHF handling fee and 100 CHF for ..... ready? ....rental loss of 2 days.... what a joke especially that this car was full of scratches all over the place. You've been warned..... think before you rent with this independent Enterprise franchisee unless you pay for full cover, Enterprise can't do anything about it... trust me, I tried at Enterprise Frankfurt and Heathrow airports. Enterprise crew confirmed it's a joke but also stated they can't chase Helvetic Motion as it's a separate company. They basically do whatever they want using well known rental company brand .... shame! Been waiting for refund for over a year now and nothing.......
Happened to me in Feb last year, unfortunately can't use that date anymore as Trustpilot only goes 12 months back.
SCAM!!
SCAM!!
Was scammed out of my vehicle and forced to pay upgrades and hidden fees
Charging for made up damage and no customer help.
They are trying to charge more than the week's rental value for a tiny scratch to one wheel. I have a pre pick up video showing the scratch. I have sent it to them and there is no response and there are no phone numbers to contact. This is a company that is ripping customers off and making it so difficult to complain that they hope to double rental fees by wearing customers down. Do not use.
Scam / Fraud
This company is running a scam, be careful. They claimed for scratches that weren’t on the car I left. Sending a fake photo afterwards. Charged me CHF 450 for a claimed to tiny scratch on a mirror. There is no way to challenge the claim and they don’t respond to any contact. Literally this is theft/fraud. Don’t use them.
Enterprise/Alamo scam unethical
Enterprise/Alamo did not give any details of the scratches and charged me SGD 1300!!!
They are running a scam setup.
They comeback after 15 days after the return. When taking the car They provide 30mins to visualise the existent damage, which we hope should apply same for them as well.
More scam artists in the guise of car rental companies
I recently hired a car from these people.
There was a stone chip in the windscreen that we didn't notice until we'd left and started the trip.
They never gave us detail about the existing damages when we picked it up, and I forgot to mention it when we dropped it off, and they subsequently charged us £487 for damages. For a hardly noticable stone chip. That was already there.
I tried to talk to the staff at the airport kiosk, they said we had to talk to the head office and they'd be in touch. The emails said to contact the help centre, but there's no phone number, so you have to submit a complaint through the system. I did that, asking for more info, a picture of the damage, so I could compare it to my photos, etc. The system replied, giving me a ticket number, but 1 month later the only thing that's happened is that they've helped themselves to £487 from my bank account without my approval, and avoided responding to me. Not sure of next steps, will have to look at legal options I guess.
My recommendation is to avoid these scam artists at all costs..
Total scam artists
Total scam artists. Charged me 2,000 chf for stone chips which were on the car at collection, 2 hour wait to even get checked in and receive a car.
Sixt and Hertz are much better alternatives
AVOID RENTING WITH ENTERPRISE !!!!
AVOID RENTING WITH ENTERPRISE !!!!! I recently rented a 4x4 car, because it was winter, lots of snow and I had to driver over a pass in the mountains. As I picked up the car at the airport in Zurich there was no one at the Front Desk, but a tablet where you typed in your reservation number and then you proceeded to the parking where a person gave you the key. This person only gave and received keys but didn't answer any questions. I did mentioned to the person handing me the key, to make sure it's a 4x4, and he said yes yes and just handed me the key. Driving at night on snowy road over the pass I felt very unstable. Luckily I made it over the pass and arrived at destination unharmed, realizing that they have not given me a 4x4 as stated in my booking confirmation. I did not move the car again and had to borrow my sisters car for the remaining time until the streets were cleared of snow and I was save to drive back over the pass to return the car at the Zurich airport. I tried to call, to talk to someone, but there is no phone number to call!!!!! I wrote an email (the only way to communicate with Enterprise) and they never responded to the fact that they failed to give me a 4x4 car. No apologies, no compensation, no voucher, nothing. Also when I returned the car at the airport there is no one assisting you. All you do is just drop the key in a box. There is ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Never rent from anything where you have no access to talk to a real human being. When you call, all is automated and all they say is to go to the page "Help Center" on the website or App. I am so disappointed.
I got charged for pre-existing damage
I got charged for pre-existing damage despite the fact I showed 10+ high-res photos showing the damage was there when I picked up the car. Very shady practices!
Total Scam
Total Scam, rented a vehicle from Geneva airport and returned it in the same condition. Nobody there to inspect the vehicle, but a few weeks later Enterprise charge me nearly £1000 for a less than 1 inch scratch inside the boot lid which was not visible from the outside during my inspection, and barely visible in their photo evidence. Having to0 go through my CC company to try and get the money back.
Avoid at all costs - total scam artists
SCAM Company
Hi
I rent WV Passat from Enterprise Basel Switzerland, they did not have this option so they provided another car. Then I drop the car during my return and branch told me dropping key is enough. So no body checked the car. They are claiming the car is damaged without any evidence and claiming the car is repaired again without any evidence. I have been a driver for almost 20 years, and I rented cars god knows how many times. This is the first time I have experienced sth like this, and I know it is a fraud because I have the photo and video evidence.
I want to highlight your sentence; they claim that their company follows transparency. I tried to reach their contact number, but it always forwards me to the website; even the Enterprise global team has not reached you since the 13th of February. Even the Enterprise team tried to contact you 3 times and could not reach out, so I request them to inform area manager.
I want to add one more thing: I did not receive any information from this branch till they tried to deduct money from my bank account. I just received an email that says 1500 CHF is deducted, and I have to pay an additional 1673 CHF in that email. I sent an email, and a #169672 ticket was raised, but no one has replied.
Also, Customer Support team mentioned that all photos were already provided to me, but I want to emphasize again that I did not receive any evidence. I just received the Invoice and one report that is not in English. So I just asked for the photos taken during the inspection with metadata. But no one replied to me. I am trying to solve this but as I understand from other comments on google. It seems you are fraud and you are trying to steal money from Turkish citizen. So I am thinking that they are scammer and racist!.
Worried in advance
I was a bit worried in advance, given all the negative reviews.
The car was competitively priced and had significant damage. (I prefer!)
When returning it, the fuel cap refused to open, so we couldn't refill. After 4 weeks the credit card was only charged for 20 liters of diesel, which was correct. Overall an excellent rental, no complaints.
Deceptive Practices at Enterprise (Alamo & National) Rent A Car - Geneva Airport
I recently had a disappointing experience with Enterprise (Alamo & National) Rent A Car at Geneva Airport in August. While the initial rental process appeared smooth, my satisfaction was short-lived. Five months later, I received a shocking email claiming damages and a charge of 1615.50 CHF to my card.
Several concerns need addressing:
Delayed Notification & Evidence:
It's disconcerting that information about damages only reached me after five months. This delay raises serious questions about the legitimacy and transparency of the charges.
Moreover, the prolonged delay in disclosing evidence has significantly hindered my ability to dispute the charges effectively. Transparency is crucial in such matters, and the delayed provision of evidence undermines the integrity of the entire process.
Pattern of Deceptive Practices:
This incident isn't isolated. A previous experience with a company under the same ownership (Alamo & National Rent A Car at Geneva Airport) involved a wrongful charge for fuel-related damage. This suggests a disturbing pattern of deceptive practices designed to exploit unsuspecting customers.
Implication Without Defense:
I feel that Enterprise Rent A Car is taking advantage of its customers by implicating them in damages without providing an opportunity to defend themselves. This not only affects me personally but raises concerns about how many others might have been similarly treated.
Call for Collective Action:
It's disheartening that a company can operate in such a manner without consequences. I believe it's time for affected customers to unite and take a stand against these unfair practices. I encourage everyone who has faced similar issues to share their experiences and consider legal action collectively.
In conclusion, my experience with Enterprise Rent A Car has been marred by these unscrupulous practices. I would caution others to approach transactions with this company with utmost caution.
DON'T RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.
Seems like many had the same experience as us... Rented a car, didn't hit anything during our travels. Left the car and like 2 months later: They TAKE like 800 euro from my card because of something that obviously was not made by us. DON'T RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.
SCAM BUSINESS - DO NOT USE
Enterprise Geneva are a scam business built off lies. There is not a single employee that can be trusted.
We had previously gone over the damages on the car and I had it recorded. We were then told repeatedly that the parcel shelf clips were broken and that we would be charged for it.
After giving evidence and also pointing out when we picked the car up that the clips were broken, they had agreed to let it go until they finally came back several months later to charge our card £150 for the £3 clips you can find online. I could have got a flight over and changed them myself for cheaper despite them not even being our fault.
The business will not listen to your claims and YOU WILL LOSE MONEY. If you choose to ignore this review, please have the money ready because I hear that we have got off lightly compared to others.
they charged us 800€ for a super small…
they charged us 800€ for a super small broken window (broken by thieves). there are the real thieves!
Total scam
Total scam! Their car had a scratch when checked out. It is clearly labeled in the checkout document. Still, after I returned the car in the early morning (so there was no in-person check out), they labeled a scratch exactly the same location at the checked-out document and charged me $600 for it. I contacted them via the documented email and never got any response. What a terrible company!
The car rental company is terrible
The car rental company is terrible! During our tourist trip, we received a traffic violation, but I encountered an issue with the payment link they sent. I have sent numerous emails and made several calls regarding this issue, but no one from the company has helped me, and my emails have gone unanswered. I have been dealing with this process for a year now, and the matter has needlessly escalated to administrative authorities!
