Excellent response to my stupid mistake when transferring money
I made a stupid mistake when transferring a sum of money into my account. This was very quickly sorted out after I phoned the Bank and the money replaced.

Fineco is only for people born in UK
I was hoping to open a bank account or trading account with Fineco today. If you are not born in the UK even if you have been a UK citizen for over 50 years you are still identified by the country you are born in. I gave it 2 stars as the person on the phone was nice.
Need to change this if you have been a UK citizen for over 50 years but were born in the US you cannot join fineco

Very bad experience to open an account with Fineco Bank. Their systems do not work properly and they have the worse image recognition system I have seen in my life to validate my passport. After all the time and hassle to complete my account (which will make them money) they sent me an automated email saying my name has a mismatch. I have to start another application from scratch! Funny enough, another requirement in the email was to send them my signature via email. Two conflicting requests.. One says start again from scratch and another says sends us something via email.. I looked at all the documents downloaded from my application and I found that my name on the passport and everywhere on all documents is the same. So I contacted their useless support team to explain and advise. They copied pasted the automated email and sent me that as a reply instead of trying to resolve the issue. What kind of customer support team copy pasties the same answer from an automated email to their clients? Horrible experience, will be going to their competitor.

A/C opening is long winded, and takes a day or two.
Opened an account with a view to opening an ISA. The process is more lengthy, and long winded, than say with a UK provider such as HL. Also, with the time to actually open the account, then another 24 hours at least for the ISA to be approved, it's a delay I was not expecting, so a clearer procedural process would be useful.
The share delaing costs are exceptionally low, so this probably makes up for everything. Telephone support was good when i phoned.
5 starts for customer support, 3 for IT platform
5 starts for customer support, 3 stars for IT systems: backend is from the 80ies, with 8-chars only passwords (very insecure) and 1 day lead time to see updates in the system. Frontend is good, but in many pages it's still a mix of English + Italian - this is not good enough for an international audience.

Good, BUT:
The process of joining was horrible.
However, I thought it was a good trading platform.
Be aware, if you create an ISA account you can only invest in stocks with GBP as the underlying currency. This was too restrictive for me so I terminated my account. Phone support was great.
