Somewhat rigid pension service
Somewhat rigid pension service, that forces holdings directly into funds which charge their fees on a daily basis, and gives no self-invested pension plan options. My only option is to pay my company pension into this one and cash it out every few months. Would recommend Hargreaves Lansdowne over these guys every day.

I have been with penfold for a while…
I have been with penfold for a while now and have mostly had no issues but my husband got some 3rd party funds added which is stated as allowed on the website and was advised he needed to send in statements for these which has been done. He got no update, rang up and was told it was escalated, still no response. This has shaken our confidence and depending on the response will decide if we remain customers.
Just to update: we are now well over the 10 working days for payments to be allocated, and no response for the last few emails. So not a good experience right now.

Good App but issues with bureaucratic response to Queries
The App works well, and the help desk staff are helpful and responsive. However, our recent experience regarding an enquiry about unallocated funds, which was not flagged within their system, prompted a slow and overly bureaucratic response. This approach appeared to prioritise Penfold’s internal processes over the needs of the client.

Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience – zero accountability
I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Penfold and honestly regret ever using their service.
From the start, communication has been poor, but what really stands out is the complete lack of accountability. Whenever an issue arises, it feels like no one actually takes ownership. You’re passed around, given vague responses, and left waiting with no real resolution in sight. It’s incredibly disappointing.
I’ve had an ongoing issue that should have been straightforward to resolve, but it’s dragged on far longer than it should have. Every time I follow up, I either get a generic reply or am told it’s being “looked into” and that pension transfer is progressing, yet nothing actually gets done. It’s like dealing with a system where responsibility just disappears.
For a company handling something as important as pensions, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and transparency. Instead, it’s been stressful, time-consuming, and completely avoidable.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before signing up. There are plenty of alternatives out there that actually value their customers and take responsibility when things go wrong.
