I enjoyed actually talking to a human being. The AI not so much- she hung up on me and asked way to many questions about the help I needed. Human A+

It is very easy to use and to load. Money is loaded in an instant! You can track how it's being used.
My mother has Alzheimer's, so for extra protection against the card being used by an unauthorized person we did the custom card and put a big photo of her face on it and then wrote " this card belongs to this person". This solved all our issues!!

NOT a fan! Had I been aware that I would have only been able to access this account through an app from a mobile phone I would not have agreed. I'm positive that I ordered the $4.99 subscription but had to deposit $10 into the account to open it. Once finding out that I could only access from an iphone or android phone I called to cancel the card and ask for my $10 back and to close the account they let me know that I was on a $14.99 a month plan and that not only was the $10 gone, but I also still have to pay them $4.99 in order to get my account closed. I'm not a fan of a bank account that can't be accessed from a computer. They offer crash detection but can't offer a website to access the account? Crazy.

Greenlight has been a great way to seamlessly manage many of the friction points I had previously with my kids allowance as well as chores. The ability to make on the fly adjustments based on chores completed as well as increase or direct pays when they are the go is great -- AND further enhanced by the education the app provides the kids when it comes to savings and investments.

It’s nice to be able to give the kids chores and pay them for it. It is also great to monitor their spending.

My kids enjoy doing chores now! It is so much stress relief knowing the house is clean, and they are reading books and doing homework pages during the summer to keep them sharp for upcoming school year! Thank you Greenlight!

Very disappointed I cannot instantly transfer funds from my bank account to my daughter and have to wait days!!!

I put money on my son’s card for him to get his vehicle out of the repair shop. When the shop ran the card the card was declined even though their daily limit was almost $4000 more than what was attempting to be paid. They said it was above his daily limit but they can’t tell me what his daily limit is. Keep in mind this is a debit card, not a credit card, and they decline to pay with money that came from me, that I personally put on the card. So I did a transaction to put the money back in my bank so I could use another method but they take 3 business days to do that so my son is stuck without transportation. Definitely do not recommend!

This has been an excellent resource - allowing me to help my child budget, save, invest. We love it!

this card has honestly been so amazing for me it’s not even funny. I had pitched the idea of my parents getting me the greenlight debit card around four years ago now, and after doing a bunch of research they finally agreed to get me one and it could not be a better experience than what it is! The app is so incredibly easy to use with tons of cool features and a special level up game that teaches you all about finances, and for a small extra charge you can actually customize your card with whatever image you want on it! The cards don’t ship out the fastest as mine took around a month to get but it unlocks a whole new world of freedom financially for your children. Overall I give the service a nine out of 10, and the only thing that’s holding it back from a perfect score of 10 is that the cards take a long time to be made and shipped in my personal experience but other than that it’s absolutely amazing! I would totally recommend this to anybody who has kids and teenagers between the ages of 4 to 17 as a first debit card. 9/10, would absolutely recommend my friends and family!

I really like this app a lot and the ability to introduce kids to investing and financial education is great. However, it is very expensive - I mean $10 a month can go a long way with investing, The monthly fee is half of my daughter’s monthly allowance. And I do think this is a bit steep.

They put arbitrary limits on cash withdrawals and make it very annoying to move money. For instance, if there is money in the Spend Anywhere category, you can't get gas or use it at the ATM. You have to specifically move it to the ATM category. So Spend Anywhere doesn't actually mean Spend Anywhere. Also, I was told that he could not withdraw more than $100 at the ATM cashpoint. Why? No one knows! Just apparently no way to lift it. I was told their partner bank was in charge and they have no control over the limits. Ridiculous. So if you wanted more than $100 in cash, you can't have it. Also, there are no free ATMs for this debit card company, so you will pay a fee each time you try to withdraw cash (about $4). I find this app really inconvenient, especially as I pay a monthly fee. You'd be better off going to a REAL bank or using Teen Venmo where they don't charge fees and you have access to your money when you want / need it. Customer service is also really bad. Long wait times, and they made me confirm the bank account I wanted to transfer funds to...but then still transferred to the wrong account. Why confirm the account details if you were just going to send the funds to the wrong account? It's just absurd trying to talk to competent people to solve issues. So, needless to say, we closed our accounts there and won't be back.

$10 a month?? For WHAT?? The cheapest plan is still $6. Chime and CashApp (and I don't trust CashApp) are both free! CashApp has a plan for kids and it doesn't cost a thing!!

this was a terrible experience,was charged a monthly fee of $14.00 a month for absolutely nothing.i was promised a 2thousand dollar loan if i signed up for this app.What a crock i did not receive no loan and got put farther in dept,I dont even have children to give allowance too..
