Healthcare Abroad were excellent from start to finish waiting at the airport to pick us up take us to the hotel accompanying us to consultations making sure there was no language difficulties making sure we had correct medication and medical equipment checking in to see that we were good in the hotel

I travelled to Madrid, Spain for endometriosis surgery, and it was the best decision I have ever made.

At home in Cork, I would have been waiting months — if not years — for treatment. I contacted Healthcare Abroad, and they had given me a surgery date the very next day for the following month. The efficiency alone was incredible.

From the moment I landed, I was completely supported. Our driver, Havier, was one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. He brought me to and from every single appointment and made what could have been a very stressful time feel calm and manageable.

I was also looked after by Laura, who was nothing but caring, supportive, kind, and warm throughout the entire journey. She made everything run so smoothly and was always there whenever I needed reassurance or had questions.

The day before surgery, I met my surgeon, who was extremely reassuring. He took the time to explain everything and completely put my anxiety at ease. During the procedure, they discovered I had stage 3 endometriosis and removed all of it. I had been suffering every single day for so long, and back home it felt like nothing was being done. Healthcare Abroad truly changed — and I genuinely believe saved — my life. For the first time in years, I feel like I can actually live again.

Yes, travelling to another country for surgery is a scary thought. But you are supported from the second you land to the moment you return home — and even beyond that. They are there for absolutely anything you need. I have never experienced healthcare like this in my life.

It’s not fair that so many women are left to suffer for so long. Healthcare Abroad can help stop that suffering. I could not recommend them enough.

Everything was great the only thing I would like improved on is the food.

I had been on a waiting list 10 months for cataract procedure. I had been told I needed to wait up to 18 months more. My wife saw on f/b about HCA. I made enquiries & read various reviews, which convinced me to arrange to have the procedure done via HCA. HCA staff were very professional & courteous. They looked after me all the way, collected me at hotel & left me at the hospital, where I was met with HCA admin staff. They stayed with me all the time, before & after my procedure. The procedure was quick & painless. My vision since is fantastic. HCA admin took care of all the paperwork. I highly recommend HCA.

Haven my knee replacement gives me back my life ...health care assistant John was absolutely amazing person and makes sure you have everything you need absolute gentle man he was with me all week .the hospital food not great at all..hospital staff were nice I wouldn't say amazing...night staff on my stay to the hospital were quite rude ...so didn't make you feel like ringing the bell..seven different lines has to be put into my arms because they kept falling out because the were not secure properly...and they were saying it was my fault because I was going for a smoke ...the day off the operation i was not out off the bed and it came out four on that day ...Because it wasn't secure enough tubes just left hanging..would be good for them to put more time and probably secure a line properly it caused huge swelling on my hand and painful..im a health care assistant myself 15 years I know enough...and asked would they secure it better..they did...the hotel is absolutely beautiful but with a patient off any age that has surgery and returning to the hotel is not so comfortable..the hotel needs to have ice packs ..plus the hospital found it difficult getting on and it one off must have ...there is not one comfortable chair for a patient sit on ...and thats a must ..definitely Ice packs and chairs...cant check back into hotel till 4pm..after leaving hospital after have serious operation..there should be a courtesy room available for patients ..I left hospital at 11.am and was in horrible pain ..and not a decent to relax on ...the hotel rooms patients are staying in million percent should have a proper chair ..its makes your stay very uncomfortable for healing....I do have pictures off the line the nurses put into my hands and arms....they need a little more training on how to secure it..

I opted for EU cross border scheme via Healthcare Abroad to go to Spain for a Total Knee Replacement.
The entire experience was devastating leaving me with a Disability post op. The Spanish Consultant who operated on me never saw me or made contact after they injured the Tibial Nerve during surgery. Was seen eventually by a different Consultant who has no empathy and never apologised for what occured as a result of surgery.Healthcare Abroad provided no support or follow up . They got paid from HSE so did the Spanish Hospital now they would care less that their negligence has left me with Disability and caused me financially more then what I would have paid for surgery in Ireland. Nearly 10 months post op and I am still suffering with pain, and no sensation in my operated foot. There is no framework or support in situ for patients who underwent surgery who landed up with a complications occured because of the surgeons negligence. Irish consultants are not willing to follow up because the surgery was done in Spain.A surgery which was meant to improve my quality of life only resulted and left me with Disability and poor quality of life .

This company handled everything and were completely professional. Their staff were available at all times and nothing was too much trouble. If I had to have another procedure I would have no hesitation in going with them again.
In Spain everything was arranged for us and the drivers were always available if we needed anything

This is my third time abroad for different operation's from the first phone call to the airport in Dublin it was all arranged with someone to meet me the airport was a dream to go through to arriving at Spain where I was meet and brought to my hotel and the staff were amazing they go above and beyond to make your stay as stressfree as possible I can't praise them enough

Couldn’t recommend health abroad enough, was made feel so safe about decision I made to have surgery.. it was so organised from meeting me at airport , had the friendliest team taking me to every appointment for the 12 days I spent there , getting to meet my surgeon before surgery and many times after was just amazing and the reassurance of aftercare when I return to Ireland .
10/10 for everything and all the staff are just 100% thank you so much

While waiting for a hernia operation i heard about Healthcare Abroad.

From talking to the staff who were very nice to deal with, to the drivers, hotel and excellent hospital care I would recommend Healthcare Abroad to anyone on a waiting list in Ireland.

54yr old (M) Dublin Ireland.... Currently in Denia 4 weeks post operation, right Knee replacement, Recovery going great at the moment. Healhcare abroad are fabulous, from my 1st contact by phone, very promt and professional from the beginning in Ireland the team in Ireland had my dates organised for me within a couple of weeks, they do it all for you, xray appointments in dublin & Spain, you literally pack a bag, grab a flight, on arrival in spain the team here are excellent they really are, there attention to detail is exceptional, they cannot do enough for you... what an experience im having, Healthcare Abroad thank you for all your help.

I found Healthcare Abroad so efficiently organised it was incredible. I recently had a full knee replacement in Spain organised by Healthcare Abroad. It was a really good experience because everything was so well organised all i had to do was organise my flights Healthcare Abroad did everything else. Transport to and from the airport in Spain Transport to and from the hospital for appointments and most of all my surgery has been a success and I have to applaud the staff of Healthcare Abroad in Spain they were superb many thanks

I heard about healthcare abroad from a friend who had had a great experience with them . I was in extreme pain with my hip which was really affecting my day to day life and had been told I would have to wait 12 months. Because of this I decided to give them a call, Healthcare abroad were amazing from start to finish. They explained everything and do all the paperwork for you including helping with getting a credit union loan which you get back from the HSE. The service I received in Valencia was first class, you are picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel as well as being taken to and from the hospital. I had a full hip replacement which went amazingly well and my recovery after was fantastic. One of the main reasons I feel that the recovery went so well was, that included in the package was a week of physiotherapy sessions at the same hospital which was brilliant . Another nice part of the experience was that there were other Irish people who were also having operations and staying in the same hotel along with our partners. It was great to be able to support each other and have great craic each evening.
