Not so Heavenly!
I bought the 4-person Nordic cabin style-G4 sauna unit with a 9.5 Huum heater, and we love it. However, the company’s description of what it takes to build and get it to look beautiful isn't truthful. It takes a few professionals to build and install this unit from top to bottom, including the heater.
Here are my red flags:
1) A contractor with carpentry skills is definitely necessary. Poor seat support and you must add more wood because they only support the ends, not the middle, which is a weak spot. Flooring needs custom cuts in the corners to make it fit.
2) A contractor with electrical skills who can pull 220V with a 40 amp breaker to the desired installation location. Very expensive.
3) This unit needs a platform to get off the ground, which is not included in the price. I built a treated redwood platform under mine so it won’t rot in the elements.
4) You must clear coat polyurethane on the exterior and know it must be continually maintained.
Therefore, think again if you feel two regular non-construction folks can build this unit over the weekend. Just not happening. It took several weeks to complete with several professionals, and the initial price of $10,000 (unit and heater) was increased to $18,000. Be prepared to spend a lot more money on the installation. This unit fit our yard, so we had to go for it. Maybe look into other companies that may make a more finished product. An option definitely to consider when purchasing a new outdoor sauna.
