My son is sitting his leaving cert and…
My son is sitting his leaving cert and wanted to pay for a practice exam available via homeschool. The website indicates that the tests can only be purchased if you have a paid membership (which is fair). We paid for 3 months worth so we could then get access to the exams only to be told on the website that the digital exams could not be purchased and were "out of stock."
Edit: After some back and forth via email/telephone, Homeschool.ie was accommodating & gave us the exam, although it was the same as last year's exam. At any rate, they provided thorough/useful feedback. Although they need to work on response times, they managed to compromise, give us last year's exam (which my son did as a practice exam last year when he paid for a full year) and got some as mentioned provide useful feedback. Updating the score to reflect the fact that homeschool.ie did meet us halfway and in the end my son was able to do an exam. The exams should really be available earlier for students (they were only available from May 1) so they and the examiners have sufficient time before leaving cert exams.

The €45 per month subscription gives access to ALL Subjects at Junior Cycle level for as long as you remain subscribed. There are no charges for individual lessons or extra content.

Overall very happy
Some initial hiccups with blocked access but resolved quickly and the lessons so far are very good. Worksheets are a good support too.

Great website and excellent value
Having access to all subjects around the clock has worked well for my daughter who is her Leaving Certificate year. She considers it more suited to her needs and has increased her knowledge with different subjects as she uses the online grinds to reinforce her learning. My only regret is not signing her up last year.

HomeSchool as a great help for the children in any situation.
HomeSchool really helped my children to have a transition between French schools and the moment when we finally arrived to Ireland. I really appreciated that it was possible to make for the short term and at the time when it was needed.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. Shane replied immediately to my queries and advised me well for my children. Study notes are great and lessons are great for my daughter with ADD who needs breaks she can just pause and return.

Appalling level of customer service
Beware, I was charged €70 for subscription from June 20th to July 20th despite my son finishing school at end of May.
I contacted the company via email several occasions and left numerous voicemails to discuss and no one contacted me.

As Homeschool.ie operates on a monthly subscription basis, it is each user’s responsibility to manage their subscription, including cancellations. The charge in question was for an active subscription that was not cancelled, and as per our terms, refunds are not issued in these cases.

Very outdated methods of teaching
Very outdated methods of teaching - literally like sitting in a classroom. My son was incredibly bored. He felt there no interaction or excitement. No use of graphics in the videos and very poor visual quality too. I wouldn’t recommend.

Easy to navigate
My daughter is using homeschool for her leaving cert as her main source of learning. She is managing well navigating the lessons but finds the videos quite boring.
