I love this app for my son
I love this app for my son. He is autistic with complex needs but I use it for pocket money for when he is taken out by another carer. It notifies me of the transaction as it happens and requests my permission for any large amounts.

Excellent Customer Service
I wrote a critical review of Hyperjar as it had become increasingly difficult to load money onto my Hyperjar account. Hyperjar use a 3rd party app "ModulrFinance" to connect to my bank. This seems to have issues - several recent transactions have stuck at Pending for a day before being inexplicably declined (I have more than sufficient funds for the transaction), and today I have been stuck with the blue wheel of death and the message "Processing" for 10 minutes.
My daughter is an hour away, has no money, and I can't get her any because ModulrFinance isn't working.
I couldn't report this via Hyperjar's app because I was stuck on the Processing screen mid-transaction.
Hyperjar's excellent Customer Service team contacted me via email after this review was posted, and gave me an alternative method of funding my account - which worked, so thanks!

I found this super simple to setup and it does not have monthly fees!
This is great to setup a pre-paid debit card for children but not only! I have used also the virtual debit card for adult/parent abroad, without extra currency convertion fees.
On top, you get some cashback from some retailers.

Moving card between devices
Had a real issue getting my card added to Apple Wallet as I was moving over from a Google Pixel phone. Saurav in support was helpful and attentive and fixed the problem in no time at all. Excellent service.

Great for managing your kids money and subscriptions
I have found this card very helpful for managing pocket money and school dinner money for the children and it is almost free depending on how you use it. Also useful for separating subscriptions from main bank account and having them come out of a jar instead. No additional charges for use abroad either.
And you can block spending in some retailers and food outlets on the children's card!

Great for automating children's pocket…
Great for automating children's pocket money and enabling them to pay bus fares and pop to the shops for a few bits and bobs. We're really helpful when my son's card was stolen unbeknownst to him.

Decent system but Indo have kids data collection concerns
Decent system, love the"pots", HATE unnecessary data collection/system blocks in place when using the kids app.
Been using Hyoerjar for kids pocket money for almost 5 years now. Moving money between pots automatically and otherwise is easy, the app for adults works well.
Setting up an app (advertised for even young kids) requires a mobile number which kids likely don't have, and I'd they do, should be family contact, not big business data collection! There are other ways to make the app work that allow links to parents rather than collecting kids personal data.

Love the Hyperjar card
Love the Hyperjar card. I don’t usually have lots of money downloaded on the card, even though you can download as much as you want. It’s handy to know you have money available without taking your bank cards out with you. Great when you’re abroad too. Find the safety feature of checking it’s you using the card via messages is a good safety feature.

As a family we absolutely LOVE Hyper Jar
As a family we absolutely LOVE hyper jar. We've been using it for over a year now so can confidently attest to it's features.
For my teen: they have their own card. Then inside the account they have multiple "jars". She's chosen to have a general spending jar, a savings jar, and a gaming jar. Plus we added and Errands jar. For the errands jar we've linked it to specific shops i.e. Tesco, so that when she pops to grab e.g. milk, the money automatically comes out of that errands jar when she pays with her card. We keep that jar topped up so that it makes things super easy.
Honestly, for a child's first experience in the banking world, it's literally perfect. If she keeps spending, it asks on the app to verify that it is her, tap to pay can be enabled on her phone, it's taught her to move money to receives into her savings account/jar.
I highly recommend getting Hyper Jar.
