I got exactly what I ordered! It came quickly. Excellent quality. Amazing value. Use the website to really look at the style and measurements. I knew the style of dress I ordered had a skirt that I wanted to alter (less fabric around the waist to make it more flared) so now I have spare fabric and made a hair tie with it!

I ordered a beautiful indigo and red dress which came quickly through the mail. The dress is very well made, and fits wonderfully. The fabric is not too thin, and drapes nicely. I wore it to an Indigo exhibit at our local museum of folk arts and received a number of compliments! One thing I loved is that the package smells like India! (I traveled there about 10 years ago.) I will definitely shop with Indophilia again.

Fabulous quality items that wash easily and don't wrinkle. They look great and are amazingly comfortable!

I have ordered a total of 4 maxi dresses from Indophilia & I love them! The fabric/prints are vibrant and beautiful. The dress designs are flattering and a great fit. These dresses were light weight and well priced. Perfect resort wear attire!

I ordered a custom dress via a link from Instagram. I wasn’t sure what the quality would be . . . but am quite pleased. It’s a beautiful dress, seams are well finished and no loose threads. Lots of compliments on the fabric and colors. Shopping and shipping were all very standard and no hurdles. Will continue to peruse their catalog

I’ve had this dress a couple of months.
Positives
- came to U.K. in advertised time
- I loved being able to customise it
- fabric is pretty
- it washes well without staining or running
- crumples in wash but irons beautifully
- packs small. I took it backpacking with me and it’s a delight on hol
Negatives
- I ordered too big a size. I’m U.K. size 26, and the dress was bigger than me in its max size. I wish I’d picked a longer length
- the fabric is much thinner than I expected. As above it packs well, and it fills a different wardrobe space than I anticipated

So I’m planning to order another one in smaller size and longer length l

This was the first time I ordered and I was pleased with the service and standard of the clothes. My parcel arrived within the stated times, well wrapped and as advertised. The postage was very good value as were the clothes.

Let me start with the positive.
The company people were very nice and likeable, the communication was prompt and good.
I love the customisation that they offer for sleeves, necklines and lengths.
The fabrics are good quality. They are cool and breathable, even in this scorching summer. They didn't bleed, they didn't shrink after 3 washes.

I understand why they don't accept returns. The dresses are customized to our liking, so it might take a lot of time for some other customer to happen to order the exact same combination of features.

However
it's the patterns - or probably the cutting of them - that often don't hit the mark.
One dress (Bagru White Midi Dress)
was overall the correct size, but the waistline was not straight. It was normally at the waist on the sides, but the front rode up towards the chest at nipple height. (If you see the picture on their website, it's straight)
Please note that the dress has a very roomy, comfortable fit, so it's not a question of it being tight on me (on the contrary) And I'm a C-cup, so not particularly large-chested: what would have happened to a well-endowed lady I don't even dare to think.
Another one (Bagru MAXI Beige Dress) also has an ill-fitting chest area.
It's an empire-waist dress with a ruffled neckline. At the top there is a drawstring which you make into a bow. The bottom is not straight but has two curves, a bit like a bra. Okay. But these two curves don't start from right under the breasts, as would be expected. They start too high, even higher than nipple height. So again it doesn't make sense and doesn't look good. You can clearly see what I mean in one of the pictures of another dress with the same cut, the Indigo Maxi Blue Dress.
Fortunately the colourful design sort of blurs the seam line so from afar it's not very noticeable, but I find myself pulling it down all the time. To no avail.
Let me stress this: I never have problems with clothes ordered online, when they are the right size, so I know my body is not weird in proportions (such as a long torso or anything else). Even clothes from Shein fit me perfectly, and that's saying a lot.
I don't know whether it's the pattern design or the person who cut it. Probably for the first dress it's the latter, since in the website pictures there doesn't seem to be a problem. But for the second dress, the problem is there in the website picture as well.
Indian tailors are usually awesome, I've had the best outfits made in India, but those ones are poorly cut.

Another problem which however is not their fault at all, is that they ship to Europe from the UK, and because of Brexit I spent a very high amount of taxes/duties. When I say very high, I mean almost as high as the dresses themselves.
You may want to consider this factor, if you're ordering from the EU.
This also means that I cannot ask for the dresses to be re-made, because I would again be paying those dues.

I originally ordered a cotton summer maxi dress. After a week or so I was told it wasn’t available. The company wouldn’t issue a refund but instead gave me a voucher. I reluctantly selected another dress which arrived this week. It is truly awful quality. It is baggy, poor quality fabric and the sleeves are not as I specified but are weird 1980s puffed sleeves. I don’t think that I can even return this monstrosity.

If only I had read the reviews before I placed an order! The dress fabric is beautiful, but it does not fit (even though I ordered based on their size chart). And this company has no process in place for returns. There is a Google form, but it contains no instructions, and while it mentions the possibility of return for a different size or some sort of credit, it also warns the customer not to attempt to initiate a return on their own (who then)? Update: The company took the time to respond to my review (below), but there was no response to the supposed "return" form, nor to my follow-up email.

I ordered 2 dresses...they were lousy quality and they didn't fit. I had to pay $17 to return it (not stated in return policy). They did refund me with coupon. I have to pay shipping AGAIN if I want to use coupon. So, paying $25 shipping to return poor quality stuff I hate AND to use credit to buy another item I can't return easily. DO NOT ORDER! Bad practices AND very poor quality.

I ordered a customizable dress with cap sleeves and was charged accordingly. When I received my items, the dress was was a halter top. The company offered no refund, only a $10 off another purchase even though it was incorrect. I won’t be purchasing again.

I ordered a dress, which I never got. They said, they sent it, 3 times, but there was always something wrong with the delivery so my dress was sent back.
I did not get my money back.
So DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I have ordered twice from Indophilia and the clothing arrived in a timely manner (shipping to USA). All of the pieces I received are beautiful and well made. It’s very special to be able to wear clothing dyed with natural dyes and woven traditionally. I also appreciate how affordable the clothing is, and I am glad to support a company paying living wages. I will order from Indophilia again in the future.

If I may make one recommendation to the designers: I would appreciate more classic silhouettes and styles for dresses that are not necessarily ‘on trend’. I wear my clothing for years and years so I prefer a more timeless look. Thanks!

I found a dress by Indophilia on facebook that was very appealing. I looked up the company and read the great reviews and about the fabric, etc. I ordered the dress, it came and I love it. It is so beautiful and comfortable - and the sleeves are so very perfectly set and it is so easy to raise my arms. So thank you!!
