No supplementary email providing details sent
My experience is not a bad one regarding a particular gym site, more a poor experience from the organisation who to date have still not sent a follow up email as promised to provide me with all of the info I will need to enjoy my membership. I am filling this review in as a further attempt to make contact with JD gyms and hope someone is monitoring these reviews.

Overall Decent
Pros - Decent value, clean, good staff and free parking.
Cons - Doesn't have the same variety or amount of popular machines as some other JD gyms. High turnover of staff. Air con is rarely on if at all (Apparently due to Head Office monitoring usage at their gyms to save money on electricity.) So can get very hot. You have to ask staff to turn it on.
Overall good gym, but could improve in certain areas.

Lots of equipments to use!
Lots of equipments to use, the store has convenient opening hours and the trainers/staff are supportive and welcoming. I would definitely recommend.

Gym itself is great but classes a bit of a let down
Gym itself is lovely and new, clean, fresh decor and new equipment but I’m a classes gym goer and there are only half as many as advertised on their website, most classes only 30 minutes, no booking system and not much variety. Cheap membership and no cancellation or joining fee however, just classes a bit disappointing.
edit: I filled in a feedback form but no one has got back to me.

Good size and amount of equipment but untidy
Good size and amount of equipment
Some machines too close together however
Place is untidy with staff not going around tidying left plates like was done in previous gyms I’ve used.

Improvements that could be made
The gym is good and there are a lot of pieces of equipment available
A major downside for me and where I think the gym could improve is the cardio equipment available
1.There are not any concept 2 bikes which in my opinion surpass the bikes that are available at the gym, the bikes available are dated
2.There is only x1 assault bike there needs to be more of these
3.The treadmills available are date. updated treadmills to something like The Assault fitness curved manual treadmills would be a lot better

This is such an amazing place to go for all types of exercise, there is fabulous atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and helpful, we are so lucky to have such a fantastic place and the price is just unreal, the equipment is top notch and the yoga classes is top notch , thank you

For those slightly maturer
Lots of equipment to chose from. Good layout. Showers could do with upgrading but overall exceptional value for money The gym is full of younger generation however never felt out of place as everyone is doing there own workouts and not really bothered what anyone else is doing

Spacious
Fairly Good range of equipment in a spacious gym. Missing one or two essentials. No bosu balls or wall ball targets. Are there any TRX? Not sure. Only downside was that for the first time in my life I was mocked by a middle aged heavy lifter who took the mickey out of me while I was doing burpee bounds. Quite shocked by that. I’m 64 and far fitter than he was.

Very busy at peak times
Very busy at peak times, class timetable/available classes is nothing like advertised on initial page of website.
Also not great that if wanting to attend the gym twice in one day, your code doesn’t work and have to push the buzzer for a member of staff to come.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities.
If you come back a second time in the same day, please press the green buzzer button near the gates and someone will let you in. The PIN/app does only grant entry once per day, but you're welcome to come back as many times as you like, we'll just need to let you in. Thank you for raising the class timetable, we will reach out to the team at Edinburgh and ensure the right timetable is represented online.
If that’s something you do regularly, please speak to the Manager next time you visit, and they can help or drop your gym an email if you can’t see a Manager to speak to 👍
