Gave helpful advice over the phone between different types of mattresses. Delivery and removal of old mattress went very smoothly.

The mattress was delivered on time and has been perfect in every way. It is extremely comfortable.
Before the order was confirmed we had a call to ensure that what we had ordered was the correct mattress for us.

I had a great experience with John Ryan, from finding lots of advice on the website about the different types of mattress, to their support while choosing the right mattress for me, and ordering online.

Delivery was without a problem; they kept me updated, and delivered to a first floor and into my bedroom without issue.

My mattress has been the most comfortable one I’ve ever had; I wish I had invested on a proper mattress ages ago, instead of going for cheaper alternatives. And no more aches in the morning because of not being properly supported while sleeping!

I actually bought an outlet mattress and had slight reservations beforehand, but not anymore, as the mattress was perfectly clean and it felt brand new.

I spent quite a bit of time researching mattresses and originally ordered a Hypnos then wondered why they didn’t advertise their spring count so I swapped the order to a Harrison Spinks. Luckily, I looked up YouTube to do some further research into natural fibre mattresses and came across a video from John Ryan that explained GSM. I then messaged Harrison Spinks asking what their GSM was for those particular mattresses, but they said they didn’t want to divulge that information. I immediately cancelled the order and went with these guys and I have to say what a professional outfit. They’ve been transparent on everything. I ended up buying a mattress and a bed from them in the end because it was well-priced in comparison to their competitors. And the guys who came and installed were again professional.

I ordered the Origins Comfort 1000 mattress from John Ryan by Design.

After placing the order, I received a call to ask for a bit more information to help ensure the mattress would be suitable. Their customer service was generally responsive and personal, which is definitely a positive compared with many larger mattress companies.

Unfortunately, the mattress wasn’t quite right for me personally. The support for my back felt good, but I struggled with neck/shoulder comfort and couldn’t fully settle on it. I’m mainly a side sleeper, so I think I needed a little more pressure relief than this model offered me.

The mattress also arrived with a couple of small flaws/damage marks, which I reported shortly after delivery. To be fair, John Ryan acknowledged this immediately and offered to replace the mattress with a new one if I was otherwise happy with the comfort. I was advised to trial it properly first before deciding whether to proceed with a replacement, which seemed sensible.

After giving it a fair trial, I decided it wasn’t suitable for me and arranged a return instead of a replacement. The return process was handled professionally, and the mattress was collected and packaged by the delivery team using packaging John Ryan had sent in advance.

I followed up via email to check on the refund status 6 days after collection, and it was promptly issued afterwards.

Overall, the mattress itself wasn’t the right fit for me, which I’m really gutted about, as the quality seemed good despite the slight damage, which they were more than happy to resolve by offering a brand new replacement.

Their customer service was good, and I appreciated that they were willing to discuss things properly and kept me informed throughout the process.

Excellent customer service going through detailed explanation of two mattresses I was considering. I bought the Pocket Latex 1500 king size. The delivery lads were fantastic, very polite and courteous. As for my mattress, wow! The constant aching shoulder, neck and hip I’d had with my previous mattress had completely gone after jut one night. My lower back disc issues have also abated remarkably well, and the natural latex has been amazing for keeping me cool, I haven’t had to throw my duvet off a single time and I’ve now had the mattress for about 6 weeks. I cannot rate this mattress highly enough, I wish I’d found John Ryan a lot sooner.

I particularly liked the excellent customer service which is so lacking these days from many companies.
My questions were all answered both by phone and email and I never felt anything except valued when I made a query.

I purchased the origins naturals support 2000 spring mattress.

A helpful and knowledgeable person on the end of the telephone. This person was also considerate of our circumstances at the time of ordering - and subsequently arranged follow-up Emails as reminders of e.g. turning mattresses etc.. These were all relevant and not overkill as so many communications are with other companies.

Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful taking time to discuss my requirements. On the agreed date the delivery arrived exactly on time .

All contacts with the John Ryan team were excellent. They understood our need, and offered advice on the best mattress for that need. Thank you.

Once the order has been place It would have been nice to have some regular contact from John Ryan.

Delivery was disappointing. Whilst the courier provided excellent updates on delivery times the delivery itself could be improved. The mattress was delivered in a van that leaked water and I would have liked the 2 delivery people to handle the new mattresses with some respect.

The most important thing is that the mattress itself is comfortable.

I got my first mattress ever from John Ryan, an Origins Pocket 1500. I thought I needed a firm mattress due to back pain issues but their sales rep (Michaela L) convinced me that there is a difference b/w spring tension and comfort layer feel, and that for my weight a medium spring tension is recommended. She answered a number of other questions I had - and did not pressure me to make a sale. Nor did she make recommendations for any mattress over my own budget - I hate it when sales people do that! Furthermore, I appreciate that John Ryan do not do highly discounted and manipulative sales like other mattress providers. The mattress costs X and that’s that. I found the John Ryan website full of valuable info that other mattress providers don’t share.

In contrast, the salesman at a Dream store nearby had no advice to share other than to select what feels good at the store - and tried to pressure me into buying something quickly! I really did not want to give my money to them after that.

All in all - I felt like John Ryan offers a great customer experience and I wanted to buy from them and support that.

Delivery only took a few weeks.

Whilst you can’t check the mattress before buying, John Ryan also do a full refund if you are not happy with the mattress. This gave me the confidence to buy from them.

One month in, I am really happy with the mattress. I don’t know if the experience will still be good in 5 years or so, but time will tell.

Easy to use website and purchase. Follow up phone call to make sure correct mattress (spring no, weight etc) ordered. Very helpful.

I did a lot of research on mattresses and visited a few different shops and ended up buying online from John Ryan. The website had lots of great information to help me make my decision and once ordered online I got a call from the company. The lady basically made sure I was buying the right mattress for me and checked that access was ok. She recommended I send her a video from my front door to the bedroom and she checked it for me then confirmed the order. I was pretty impressed by this level of personalised service. It didn’t stop there. On the day of delivery I realised I forgot to ask for my old mattress to be recycled. The delivery guys, who were absolutely amazing, hung around until I rang the office to complete this transaction. The lady in the office had to liaise with the delivery company. Thankfully it was all resolved. As for the mattress itself I am very happy. Super comfortable and great quality. As a super king it’s very difficult to flip as it’s so heavy but that’s what you get for good quality. I also got an email telling me when it was time to flip my mattress! Amazing!

The mattress was unfortunately a bit too firm for my liking, so it didn’t quite suit me in the end. However, after getting in touch with customer service, they were very understanding and agreed to allow me to return it.

I was really impressed with how the company handled everything. The communication throughout the process was excellent, and the customer service team were friendly, responsive, and helpful at every stage. They made what could have been a difficult situation very straightforward and stress-free.

Overall, I think this is a very good company that clearly cares about its customers. It’s just a shame that the mattress itself wasn’t the right fit for me personally.
