After using other apps like Duolingo and Babel I found Languatalk. My Spanish had not been improving but in just a few weeks using Languatalk I have improved enormously. The AI is great. I use it to practice grammar I have learnt from a YouTube lesson and I can also practice for particular situations I know I am going to encounter. I love that it is constantly improving. I signed up knowing that I could get my money back if I wasn’t happy but after a few days I knew I would not be looking for it. I arrived in Spain yesterday and have already been able to ask the car hire company to do something with the car, I have had a chat with the owner in a tapas bar who complimented me on my Spanish and bought the correct cut of meat in the butcher. I find the AI has given me great confidence in speaking the language.

I was a music teacher for 10 years so I know how important it is to find effective ways of studying. That’s why I am incredibly happy with LanguaTalk. It really uses the potential of AI in language learning in ways I couldn’t find in other AI language apps. For instance the option to safe words straight from the conversation to your spaced repetition vocabulary builder is such a useful option. Then there is the grammar practice mode in which you can pick a tense, so you can really get some targeted practice. These are just two examples of potential that I was looking for in an AI app that I just couldn’t find, and I think I’ve looked at close to all of them (2024). And those are not the only tools for targeted practice I love, there are so many more! If you love effective practice (and are kind of obsessed about it) this is definitely the app for you.

I love Langua! It is the best way, in my opinion, to practice speaking and listening. Using the AI "person" to talk to, looking at videos and listening to great podcasts (especially Slow French) has given me a lot! But best of all is the tutoring service! Keep up the great work.

I have been using Languatalk for about a month now. I am learning Italian and only have the opportunity to go to Italy once or twice a year. I have found Languatalk to be really helpful for a variety of reasons. I like the way the site is set up so that there is a central ‘go to’ page that enables me to connect to different aspects of learning a new language, e.g., via videos, vocabulary, grammar, and so on.

But it is the AI functionality that I’ve been really impressed by: I can have a conversation with the AI that to all intents and purposes seems authentic that encourages me to practice speaking or writing. It’s very sophisticated and, so far at least, not at all robotic. The AI also provides very helpful feedback on each conversation that is immensely useful, and gives tips for improvement. This is a truly innovative aspect of Languatalk that will help all language learners who don’t have the luck to visit the country whose language they are trying to learn.

I enjoy my Langua subscription. I have had a tutor for probably about 1.5 years. She is great and the value is excellent. I really like the podcasts and videos. Story Learning in the podcast section is nice because they are rather short and I am enjoying the story I am currently listening to. Listening to those, reviewing the vocab and translating the sentences has definitely enriched my spanish. I also use the vocab and AI. AI is particularly good when I've taken a break and really need to get my head back in the game. For the monthly cost, it's worth it!

Languatalk is simply superb. They have set up a unique and ‘simple to use’ site, with everything at hand. I can now learn French in the best company, with a personal tutor and access to podcasts, films, vocabulary and more. What a find! I am delighted. Bravo 👏

Really loving using Langua, especially the AI conversation feature. After only a few weeks I already feel my conversation skills have improved. I just really do not understand the negative reviews. They do make me question if they have actually tried using LanguaTalk. It’s just so good!

I love Langua! I started using the Pro version a few months ago so that I could practice speaking more in the language I'm learning. The Pro version includes communicating with AI. I haven't used their human tutors but that's because I'm already taking classes in my target language - Portuguese - and am part of some online conversation groups. Chatting with the AI bot has been so useful to gain confidence and not worry about making mistakes, like when I'm talking with real people. They also have a huge range of options for the AI bot, from choosing "people" with different accents from different regions of Brazil to choosing to chat more informally with lots of slang. I often use it while doing my homework, almost like a tutor because I can ask it questions while I'm working to better understand grammar. I also like that I can get a transcript generated for any video or podcast and then click on words I don't know. Then I add them to my flashcards deck and practice my flashcards daily. I find I'm remembering and using those words more in my conversations with people, and this also really helps build my confidence. I've tried a lot of language learning apps, and I am also a language teacher, and I think Langua is the best tool out there to use as a powerful supplement to language classes. I would definitely recommend it to my own students, and I think the cost is reasonable for all that you get.

I have over the past few years tried a variety of language schools and companies that have in the main fallen short in either their offering, or support infrastructure. The sell-in of a year contract being more important to them than delivering what they promised. Then I tried LanguaTalk, whose teachers, AI product and importantly, support are far and away superior to other companies out there. I genuinely feel valued from the input of my teacher and one of the founders. They engage with me, constantly encouraging my development during my language learning journey. For those of you who are undecided or uncertain which language learning company to choose, take my advice and give LanguaTalk a chance; you will not regret it!

I’ve been having Dutch lessons on Languatalk with Helga for 3+ years. I’ve found her to be very knowledgeable, a lovely person and very flexible in her availability. The owners of Languatalk are also super friendly and frequently reach out direct to check and see if there is anything else I need that could help improve my learning experience. The team have recently added AI learning to evolve and offer more services to students which greatly help me with my learning.

I use Languatalk every day. I'm 4 months into it. I use the chatbot to practice chatting with the AI-bots. What I like is that it feels like a real person I'm chatting with, but since it's not, there is no need to worry about making mistakes. The bot responds to my content in real his/her 'real' voice, encourages me and then asks me a follow up question. Meanwhile, I see written corrections. I can click on one button to slow down the speed of the chat bot. Another gives me an alternative and 'higher' level of language. If I don't understand a word, I can click on that and see it's definition in English and several ways the word is used in sentences. I can import videos or text as well. The videos then provide a transcript and I can click on a word in the target language and find its meaning. The text I import gives me the option to request a spoken voice audio. The company is very customer friendly and responds to problems and suggestions. I am a language teacher and recommend this to everyone who wants to learn. So much better than anything like Duolingo. Definitely worth the monthly charge.

I an English teacher and LanguaTalk is absolutely the best platform for teaching languages. It has an ethical commission structure and the class cancellation policy makes sense (Preply doesn't stop students no-showing. They can no show and refuse to pay). It's always easy to get help from Alex the Co-Founder and I have met really dedicated students via the platform.

Paid for a pro account and although there were lots of really good resources I decided against using it for the time being as I didn’t get on with the AI chat bot and don’t currently need the other resources. Positive review because they honoured their “money back if not happy within first 30 days” guarantee and refunded my payment quickly and without any quibble. May well try again in the future.

This website is very easy to use. I had been learning French using a number of resources but I wanted to have one to one conversation classes to help me progress. There are filters, brief video messages recorded by Tutors, and reviews of the tutors written by learners to help new users choose suitable tutors for them. I have found an excellent tutor I really like. We started in June, I look forward to our lessons each week and my confidence is growing. The site also provides videos and podcasts with tools to help learners improve their listening skills. There is a comprehensive FAQ section, but Alex, one of the co-founders, has been quick to respond to my emails. I am delighted to have found this site.

I'm a tutor on Languatalk. You may notice a couple of 1 star reviews here on Trustpilot. These are clearly not customers, they seem to be from a competitor I heard about that was exposed for unethical behaviour towards both tutors and students. Do not believe their odd claims, Languatalk is extremely reliable, it has great respect for us teachers and it works perfectly. I have been working with LanguaTalk for a long time now and I have always been able to count on its constant support for all my needs. My students are also always enthusiastic and satisfied with LanguaTalk!

As a tutor I'm really happy with Languatalk. Low comission, great response time (always less than 24 hours), personal answers, good conflict resolution. As with all platforms it can be an uneven flow of students but it generally works well.

People who badmouth others are not trustworthy. You don’t care about your teachers and thus your students get affected. Shoddy platform!

Update: My words are true because it took this “company” 10 months to respond. So this is the time you will be waiting for the solution to any problem. And of course, instead of improving, the company will claim the customer is not real. That’s the conduct of a “decent” company.

They base their strategy on writing fake reviews on competitors and then promoting this reviews by paying Google Ads. Just take a look at their blog
