Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience, however the situation you’ve described is unfortunately a common scam that occurs across many online marketplaces, including Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace, eBay and others.

These messages are not sent by us or through our platform, and we have no involvement in those third-party “vehicle report” websites. Scammers often target people who have advertised vehicles online and attempt to move conversations off the original platform, which is exactly what appears to have happened here.

We would never ask sellers to purchase vehicle reports or send links to external services, and any requests like this should be treated as suspicious.

We work hard to maintain a genuine marketplace and encourage users to remain cautious of unsolicited messages from unknown buyers. Given that this activity was carried out by unrelated third parties and not our platform, we would kindly ask that you reconsider the review, as it does not reflect the service we provide.

We’re sorry to hear you didn’t get the result you hoped for. We’re a genuine marketplace for campervans and every listing goes live on our site for buyers to see. Sometimes interest depends on the type of camper, pricing, and demand at the time, and while many sellers do get leads, it can take longer for some campervans to attract attention.

We sometimes use direct messaging to potential buyers and sellers as part of our marketing, but they’re never intended to mislead. All our ads are genuine, and we only ever direct people to our official site where listings are live for buyers to see. The message you received was genuine, not a scam, and the only aim is to highlight another place to advertise to get more exposure for your advert.

We sometimes reach out to sellers on platforms like eBay to let them know about Life With A Van, as we’re still growing and many people haven’t heard of us yet. Our messages are an invitation to consider an alternative place to advertise, not a guarantee of a sale. While no marketplace can promise a “definite” sale, our aim is to give sellers more visibility and another route to potential buyers.
