The worst builder I’ve ever seen, They are very nice until you buy the property. The property built with very cheap materials and quality is terrible. It’s better not to discuss about the after sales support, they don’t even care about responding to your emails/calls. I have been suffering since I bought the property here. Please do NOT buy here if you want to save your hard-earned money 🙏🙏🙏
Friends warned against new build buying, stories of endless back and forth with regards to snagging lists and waiting on trades to only give up and cover the cost themselves. I can honestly say that the experience to date (only 1 month in the property) has been superb. The team onsite are friendly and respectful and go out of their way to help. The Site Manager, (Dan) provides unprompted updates on my queries / snags. There is a lot of work going on immediately to either side of my property right now, (as to be expected when the final finishing touches are applied to the site). I'm told what is happening, why, and how long it will take to complete. Nothing is too much trouble and no question too small.
The sub contracted trades are professional and ever helpful, and have advised me on private work I want to undertake. The grounds team go above and beyond, Brian helped me move some furniture and Martin has advised me on my garden landscaping and flower beds. The decorators (Lee and John) also deserve a mention as they have returned multiple times as and when I identify new defects in different light conditions (yes, I am very fussy).

Since moving in to our new home, the on-site team have been attentive and helpful in assisting us with snags and general queries. The dab team have gone above and beyond in making our settling in experience as smooth as possible and the on site managers have fixed anything necessary when escalated to.
What’s more than this, I’d say in general, the entire on site workers have been friendly and professional and are all knowledgeable.

The colleges in mathew homes Green park gardens have been wonderful through the whole journey. They always were beside us throughout the whole experience and highly appreciated them for that.

I moved into my beautiful house 3 years ago.
The after sales initially was poor and I had to chase a few times.
Darren Pennington (construction director) joined the company and he went above and beyond to rectify issues. His personable approach and genuine care was refreshing and impressive. His ‘can do’ attitude is a credit to Matthew Homes.
With this type of excellent service, I would definitely consider another Matthew homes development for a future purchase.

We moved into our property two years ago. Since this time the public open space and roads have not been finished to a standard to be adopted by the Council. As per the legal documents and planning regs provided on purchase, it is MHs responsibility to get the road and open space adopted by the Council. At present MHs are in breach of planning regulations, and we will be reporting them to the Council as such. No response from either staff or senior managers at MHs. We will be taking this further and reporting where necessary and contacting company Directors for a response. This issue will not disappear, beware if you are planning to buy a MHs property!

We moved into a new build 4 years ago and are still waiting for the road to be completed. Additionally the footpath along the edge of the site promised as part of the site plans has still not been started. (Residents have to cross a very busy road on a blind bend to get into the village.). Numerous complaints from residents just receive excuses but absolutely no action. They just don't care.
Really disappointed with the level of response and service from Matthew Homes generally. Our boiler pipe was fitted with insulation last year as our boiler pipe was freezing, and less than a year after installation the insulation has come off the pipe. I raised this as an issue with them in January as my boiler pipe kept freezing again during the cold spell, and I am still waiting for them to come back to me. I have chased several times and other than being asked my address, they have not come back to me. Really poor levels of communication from them since purchasing the flat in 2021, and they've been really slow to sort any issues raised.
Update: After Matthew Homea replied back to this comment and I contacted them yet again, I have since received no further response. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I have recently purchased my own home after years of renting, the transaction was so smooth thanks to Nick and Bea in the sales team. After moving in Bea was a tremendous support as I found my way around.
So far I have loved living here, the location is great, the work men and Graham the site manager are all so respectful and helpful.
I look forward to many years here

Me and my partner just bought our first new home in meadow gardens, clacton on sea !
The sales team Bee and Amy have been amazing over the last few months with answering all our questions and keeping in touch throughout the whole process.
Even down to the site manager Graham who's been very accommodating.
We are very happy with the service and the house as first time buyers, MH have been great and i would definitely recommend.

Just moved into the estate in Burnham on Crouch, the site manager Dan has been superb. Very friendly, gave us a full demo of the house and explained every part of it.
As someone who's just purchased their first house, with no experience owning a house, Dan has been excellent to guide me throughout.
Matthew Homes should take note!! Dan is a credit to MH and he has gone above and beyond so far.

From the beginning Bee from the show room site has been brilliant, helpful, reassuring, chasing things up, just great, the same with Amy when I have needed her.
Upon completion, dealing with Graham (site manager) with corrections that needed looking at.
He was on the ball straight away, extremely helpful and got the tradesman in for the certain jobs very quickly to get the work done.
Overall, these guys have been great. Very happy with the service and highly recommend 👍

Pathetic after sales service. No one listens, no action taken. You keep chasing them. Poor workmanship.
We've moved into our new home in Burnham-on-crouch at the brookfield park estate in December 2023 and Daniel Overall has been amazing on site. Every question or slight issue we've had he's sorted straight away or got an answer of when it will be sorted. We couldn't ask for a better person to look after the site. Dan always makes time to speak to us when we see him to make sure everything is still ok.
Bought our new house a year ago and although I was wary of buying a new build , absolutely love it.
Have had some snagging issues which were to be expected but site manager Daniel Overall has dealt with these promptly and efficiently, Dan’s after sales care is a credit to Matthew Homes

We've recently just purchased a house from Matthew Homes at Brookfield Park.
We dealt with Linda and Diane the sales staff over a 7 month period and they were both fantastic and very accomodating.
We are very impressed with the quality of the houses and although we have a list of snagging items (as with any new build) they are working through them very quickly.
We'd highly recommend Matthew Homes.

Moved in December 2023 the sales and legal side went smoothly. There was a bit of a snagging list which you expect from a new build. The snagging is getting sorted promptly due to Dan Overall the site manager who has been very helpful and quick to rectify problems. SR

Purchase in 2021
From viewing and agreeing to buy a MH property it was a fairly smooth process to complete promptly.
This we achieved and the layout of the house met our requirements.
All I would say is ensure you know exactly what you are buying and that it is all documented. Do not rely on what MH tell you.
On completion day and moving in, an obvious problem stood out and with common sense the developer should have identified this themselves immediately and dealt with this before our completion. The after sales service is very poor with issues taking several months and numerous telephone calls/emails to resolve. On several occasions MH told us the contractors had been contacted and “should be in contact within 7 days” asking us to keep MH updated of contact made. Consequently we were having to hasten the rectification of defects many, many times. Surely in the interests of customer service any defects should be logged by MH, registered with the relevant contractors and monitored by MH to ensure customers are kept informed – not the other way around.

I find it interesting that all of the complaints here are about Matthews after sales and I concur that it is complete and utter rubbish. They are sweetness and light while they are taking your hard earned cash however, when it comes to after sales support it is non existent, emails go unanswered for weeks. I have bought 4 new houses in my lifetime and this has been the worst experience to date. Matthews, you need to up your game when it comes to after sales support.
