Delighted to have chosen Matthew Homes. After a failed purchase with another developer we turned to MH. Every hurdle we had previously encountered was removed by MH. Very easy reservation process, brilliant progression of the very long chain we were in, superb location of the development and lovely character properties. Catherine and Amanda at the sale’s office were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Brantham Heights (Plot 65)

We have recently just Purchased a new home (Plot 60) through Matthews Homes on the Isle Of Sheppey.
We have been working with the sales advisor Tracey Gammon throughout our journey from reservation to completion. Throughout the whole process Tracey has been exceptional with all the work she has completed on our behalf and always has gone the extra mile even with progress chasing and jobs that do not fall in in to remit . Tracey's attention to detail has stood out and the constant communication has been top class and it has been a pleasure to be supported throughout this process by Tracey and I could not recommend Tracey enough. In relation to the new build property the work has completed to a very high standard and the builders and site manager could not do enough to assist with any queries we have had and resolved immediately. 5 Star Service All Round !!

Burnham on Crouch (Plot 58)

We moved into our new house in March 2023 and we are very happy with the house. The build seems to be of a decent standard and now the estate is nearly finished it is a very pleasant environment to live in. The sales ladies Linda and Diane have been extremely helpful from the start particularly in chasing up our snagging list which has probably taken a little longer than expected. However, overall we are very pleased we decided to buy a Mathews Home and as this is the second new build that we have purchased it compares favourably.

Burnham-on-Crouch

We moved into our newly built home 6 weeks ago and the whole process has been as smooth as can be. The house is beautiful and we've only had a few issues that needed to be dealt with such as snagging etc, all things you'd expect from a new build though. Linda and Diane in the Sales team have been a joy to deal from day 1. Dan and Andy who work on site have been super helpful with anything we needed doing, along with the rest of the onsite builders. I cannot thank these people enough really. The Burnham-on-Crouch site is really well built and managed and once the Park has been completed, it is going to look amazing. Thanks all, Chris and Natalie ;-)

I live next to the park (as per plan

I live next to the park (as per plan, this is the park area). However, the planned park was initially used as car parking, followed by storage and a dumping yard in the past year.

It’s more of a concern where, of course, I am not getting the pleasant park view (for which I have paid). Also I don’t have to write about dumping, cleanliness, water or mud puddles, health concerns, etc., but I request to move the dumping and storage area to an appropriate place and convert the area to a park as per plan.

In addition I have water dripping noise coming from first floor bathroom which was not resolved satisfactorily.
After sales service is very poor.

Disappointing Lack of Basic Amenities in Dreadnaught Drive, Earls Park Gloucester

I am writing this review to express my disappointment with Matthew Homes regarding the lack of basic amenities in the Dreadnaught Drive , Earls Park Gloucester. It has been six months since I moved into my house, and the absence of essential infrastructure is truly disheartening.

Despite all the houses being completed in the street, the estate still lacks proper roads and street lamps. The condition of the roads is so poor that there is significant water clogging in front of my house, creating a breeding ground for mosquitos. This has resulted in multiple instances of fever for my family and me over the past six months.

The absence of street lights is another major concern. Going out during the evening becomes a challenging and unsafe task due to the lack of proper lighting. This not only impacts the quality of life but also raises safety concerns for the residents.

As a resident of Dreadnaught Drive, I expected basic amenities to be in place, considering the completion of all houses in the street. However, the current state of affairs is far from satisfactory, and it reflects poorly on the overall planning and execution by Matthew Homes.

I hope that Matthew Homes addresses these concerns promptly and takes necessary actions to improve the living conditions in the Dreadnaught Drive estate. It is crucial for the well-being and safety of the residents that essential infrastructure, including proper roads and street lights, is provided without further delay.

Severe Mould and condensation

I have had severe mould and condensation issues. The aftersales team have been absolutely shocking and non existent. I had sent 6 emails without a response, showed photos of the extreme mould and condensation and highlighted the health implications we are having. No replies...

My personal belongings are covered in mould, photos are ruined and we have had to move out due to the smell in our rooms which is causing tight chests, coughing and headaches. Matthew Homes got the window company Munster Joinery to come out and check the windows and back door.

This was their report: “Windows and doors are all working and in good order, there is mould everywhere in flat and seems to be a serious damp issue, nothing to with Windows or doors and not a normal amount of condensation. BUILDING ISSUE.”

We then yesterday had Dave, a senior manager from matthew homes come and take a look. He questioned how we live and how we do our drying. It was concluded we need to go to the launderette even though he did acknowledge that there was an unusually high amount of mould and condensation. I received an email saying that this is a lifestyle problem and as far as they see it, that is the end of the matter.

We constantly vent, have the heating on, follow all NHBC guidelines but it is not working. If anyone wants to see the photos to see the awful level of mould, I would be happy to share. I would love to see peoples opinions if they think it is because of where we dry our clothes....

Never been happier seen I bought my…

Never been happier seen I bought my house 3 years ago in Earls Park Gloucester . The ladies in the office ( sales team ) were so helpful and efficient when viewing the property and during the purchase .
Every new build comes with snags initially including ours but with communication and over time each and every snag has been rectified within a timely manner and and at a good standard . Andy the site manager has been helpful and ensured a smooth process when the jobs were done and has always ensured things were corrected and strives to complete things as quickly as possible .
Adam the maintenance man has been a few times rectifying small problems . An extremely polite , happy, hard working guy who works extremely professionally and strives to complete the jobs at such a high standard !
Well done Matthews homes and a massive Thankyou to Andy and Adam who have been amazing !

Good build quality. Snagging was too slow

Linda and Diane in the sales office are great and always helpful especially through the purchasing process.

The house is built to a good standard.

Snagging when we first moved in was great for the first couple of months and then unfortunately Dan the site manager left and everything stopped.

Thankfully Dan returned a couple of months ago and snags started to get sorted again. Because of the absence of Dan and the inability of anyone in the meantime to sort things out it has taken 14 months to get the house snag free, which is too long and is frustrating.

Update

Not sure how to reply to MH response. We are plot 6 in Burnham on Crouch. Snagging has been completed, shame it has taken so long to complete as it sours an otherwise good experience. Very simple to sort if there is the Will from MH.

My process in purchasing my first home…

My process in purchasing my first home was so easy. The ladies in Blake Gardens (sales advisor) were amazing. They checked in to ensure the process was smooth.
I used CTW solicitors, recommended by Matthew homes. I appreciated that my solicitor was also very accessible via email or telephone.
It was hassle free!

Ashfield Park

I moved to Ashfield park last December 2022 , 29 freedom road. Plot 36, I found the after service from Matthew homes site management outstanding, and Ashvale civil engineering absolutely amazing, Dave, Phil and all the lads are so helpful , friendly and make you feel welcome, regards E.B

From the minute I moved in the team have been so unbelievably helpful. On top of that whilst walking round the site they are always friendly.
Never had any issues with maintenance.

Very positive experience

Extremely pleased having bought home at Ashfield Park Elmswell. Cathryn in the sales office was brilliant throughout the whole process and site manager Phil has been very helpful and approachable post sale.

I can’t believe I’m saying this!!

Where do I start?! If I had of written this last year or before, I wouldn’t have given Matthew homes one star. I now feel that I can give them a five star review. When we moved into our house it was perfect everything we wished for. We then started having an issue with the third floor bedroom, which Matthew homes came and sorted out. Move forward three years and we had further issues and between Matthew homes and NHBC they weren’t very helpful. NHBC did come and do some repairs to two of the bedrooms. I then started having issues in my third bedroom and bathroom, although I was being told it was condensation by NHBC. I am not one to give up, so I continued with my quest to get these issues sorted. I wasn’t getting very far, until I finally had a letter from them to say they were sending a new person out and he was their new contract director. Darren arrived at our home and he listened to all of the issues we had endured over the last four and a bit years. He asked me if I could leave this with him and he would get back to me. I was very sceptical because of how we had been treated previously. Darren has been amazing and he was true to his word. He has visited on several occasions and has also dealt with NHBC. We are now finally at the end of the work being completed and I have to say we feel that because of Darren and the help of his PA Vicky, we are now able to enjoy our home again. Hopefully this means that I won’t have to speak to him again (I’m sure he hopes he doesn’t have to hear from me again) however, I’d like to thank Darren for all that he has done and I can honestly say that he is a asset to Matthew homes.

Don’t buy your home from Matthew Homes

Don’t buy your home from Matthew Homes. The positive reviews here are all fake from created accounts.

Their build quality and aftersales department is farcically bad. Actually, the word ‘bad’ isn’t powerful enough to fully described their aching ineptitude.

Matthew Homes do not care one iota once you’ve purchased one of their hastily assembled piles of garbage.

Avoid them like you would avoid Ebola.

Edit: Matthew Homes response to this review is to post the number for their aftersales department as if somehow calling the biggest issue I have with them will rectify the plethora of problems.
