Was once a great company. No longer.
Fraudulent company with ZERO quality assessment.
They will sell products that are GUARANTEED to fail (as proven by THOUSANDS of reddit posts for a specific device with the SAME hardware fault) and then refuse warranty/service unless you pay half the devices cost.
The company has gone downhill quicker than the UK.
STAY FAR AWAY. The quality is absolutely terrible and I guarantee you'll face problems with in in 1-2 years as they plan.
Disgusting.

My wife and I both have a Xiaomi pad 6.
Xiaomi have released a update to the HyperOS and after installation it has stopped Google Gmail from opening properly.
Surely any responseable company would have checked to see if there is any clashes with any updates?
More annoying is that Xiaomi are aware of the problems but carry on issuing the upgrade.
Made our tablets pretty useless as we can't read our emails.
Have contacted Xiaomi - no response as yet
I have a response from Xiaomi , very polite but not very helpful, wanted proof of purchase but I don't have that information. Bought direct from them and I supplied date of purchase and delivery information.
Wanted serial number of tablet. Supposedly on box and side of tablet, no longer have box and no serial number on the tablet. It's there software that the issue not a hardware problem

Complete and utter incompetence and unprofessional customer service and support.
Rude members of staff who will lie to you that they are going to do something then talk down to you when you ask simple questions about your phone which their chosen delivery company DHLecommerce falsified attempted deliveries. Showing photos of two different properties as to where they attempted delivery on the 5th & 6th May 2026 I have had to wait in for these two days.
We then have Xiaomi and the rude member of staff not interested in assisting me in getting my phone by communicating with delivery company.
The phone eventually went back to sender and was delivered on the 13th May 2026 eight days after I should have received the phone.
All of this rubbish due to incompetent liars who work for Xiaomi and DHLecommerce.
When I have requested compensation for my wasted time that has been ignored.
The fact that the phone had to be returned due to software failure which turn my phone into a expensive paperweight is very annoying and costly in terms of lost photos, audio and videos.
NEVER WILL I BUY OR RECOMMEND ANY TO BUY XIAOMI PHONE BASED ON THIS UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FROM MANY LEVELS.
You wish to investigate the matter that took place, I find that very interesting based on the level of incompetence from this company so let me give you all of the email reference numbers since nobody was competent enough to actually have one email reference number for complaint and the issues I had gone through. There is a reason why your ratings are so low as your customer service team are very very bad and that would also include the supervisors who have written emails making out they're professional. At this company no one takes ownership of issues.
Email no.

I purchased a Poco c71 from Amazon and found its made by Xiaomi for the cost (£62) found it to be a really nice phone, having a few minor problems when I first set it up I had to contact Xiaomi Direct and found them very responsive, answering all my questions clearly and offering further advice where needed one problem they couldn't deal with was a google issue from the phone operating system which was a news and weather link permanently on the left screen which could not be removed in any way but I got around this but using a launcher app which lets you set up how your home screen looks .

UK and Asian markets are different
I ordered two devices - one monitor and a water heater. They use DPD, which is an awful service provider. The delivery of the monitor failed trice. More to the pain, the system (app and all) shows the product is delivered, but the delivery did not happen. The driver (DPD) took the product with them without updating the system. I would recommend them to judge UK market differently than the Asian market. Otherwise, need to pack up soon.

Wish i could habe given a zero. Been a long time Xiaomi customer. Bought a smart doorbell and has to be one of the most awful products out there. Kept disconnecting, alerts came way after peoplw came near door and at times no alerts.
Customer service is shocking and they actually dont care, keep getting sent around on a wild goose chase.
Just pay the extra money and get the better established brands where if things go wrong they will sort for you with care unlike this awful company.

I purchased a hairdryer which after 9 months of infrequent use developed a split down the handle. I called customer service to report the potentially dangerous fault and seek a replacement under warranty. Customer service was basically non existent and would do nothing about it.
Beware, there products might seem tempting at a reasonable price, but they are cheap for a reason.

If you reading this review you are in luck (DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM XIAOMI) for a reason they managed to get one of the lowest customer reviews rating.
-This company isn't that 10 years ago company.
- worse customer service ever, when something goes wrong "and it will" you are in trouble.
- worse customer service ever.
- no management (you don't know what happens next)
- your complaint on the air.
- phones quality is garbage and full of advertising.
Your are not just buying a low quality advertisement screen, you buy headache.
DO NOT TROUGH OUT YOUR MONEY AND GET HEADACHE INSTEAD.
BUY FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE AND STAY HAPPY.

Awful customer service. I ordered a smart watch to track my runs. It was not there when I came to my house, and since then Xiaomi have been stalling the progress. It's been almost two months now and they still refuse to let me know when I might expect the watch (or a refund).
I have never experienced such poor customer service

I’ve had my Xiaomi Pad 7 for just 9 months, and honestly, the device itself is fantastic—great performance and display. However, the screen developed a flickering issue (mostly off). There is zero physical damage, no cracks, and no dents. Always used with soft case. It is clearly an internal connector or hardware defect.
The warranty experience has been a nightmare. I sent the device to their UK repair partner (SBE), and despite providing irrefutable video evidence showing the screen is NOT broken (I even managed to navigate the settings and successfully update the OS while it was flickering!), they denied my warranty claim.
They have issued a £170 invoice, citing "physical damage" based on microscopic surface scuffs on the aluminum frame that have no correlation to an internal electronic failure. To claim a display is "broken" when it is clearly shown producing a crisp image in videos is a complete sham.
Xiaomi UK is currently holding my 9-month-old device hostage for a manufacturing defect. I will not be paying this bogus quote and am now escalating this through a Section 75 claim with my credit card company and reporting the matter to RetailADR and Citizens Advice.
Great hardware, but the UK warranty support is a total letdown. Be warned.

I have a Smart Band 8 pro (chinese edn) which no longer functions normally after a software upgrade. It is close on impossible to find the information to resolve the problems on line and my watch no longer gives the correct time (no auto time zone change) and it no longer records any of my running information.
Xiaomi have responded to me, but I do not know how to reply to their reply - there is no obvious option

I purchased a Xiaomi rice cooker about a year ago, and unfortunately the coating on the inner lid has already started to come off.
What’s more disappointing is the warranty service. Xiaomi does not offer a replacement for just the inner lid, even after sharing multiple photos. Instead, they require the entire rice cooker to be sent back. And offer no guarantee that the unit will even be repaired. The collection window is also very inconvenient, anywhere between 8am and 6pm, which is difficult to accommodate.
Overall, the after-sales service feels outdated and inflexible, well below what I would expect from a modern company.

Absolutely appalling experience with GetApps on my Xiaomi phone.
I repeatedly turn off notifications, and it just turns them back on again without my consent. It even re-adds itself to my home screen like some kind of digital parasite. This isn’t just annoying — it feels deliberately intrusive and disrespectful to users.
I should be able to control what notifications I receive and what appears on my own phone. Instead, this app behaves like it owns the device. No other app does this.
It’s clearly designed to push ads and engagement at all costs, even if that means overriding user settings. That’s not just bad design — it’s hostile.
If I could uninstall it properly, I would. Until then, it’s a constant irritation and seriously damages the overall experience of an otherwise decent phone.
Sort it out.

Horrible customer service. They say 5hat you can return a phone but it is now almost a week and no progress with my case. They send email once a day with some quick enquiry and even if I respond immediately, they send acknowledgement next day anyway...
Wanted to buy a different model but the experience put me off.

I recently purchased the Xiaomi 17 Ultra along with accessories, spending over £1,200 in total. To be completely fair, the product itself is excellent. The phone is fast, well-built, and the camera is genuinely outstanding — the clarity and detail are among the best I’ve seen on any smartphone.
Unfortunately, the experience with Xiaomi as a company has been the complete opposite.
During the checkout process, I selected a trade-in offer which included a promotional bonus. The bonus — not the small trade-in value — was a key reason I chose Xiaomi over waiting for a competing device.
After the purchase, I received no follow-up regarding the trade-in. When I contacted Xiaomi, I was repeatedly told there was “no record” of it.
What followed was not a resolution process — it was a loop:
Repeated template-style responses
Different agents replying each time
No ownership of the issue
Requests for a phone call completely ignored
At no point did anyone step back and consider that something may have gone wrong in the checkout process. Instead, everything was based purely on “what the system shows,” with no flexibility or willingness to apply basic customer care.
For clarity — I have no reason to make this up. The promotional bonus could only be spent with Xiaomi, and I had every intention of using it to purchase additional products.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that this could have been resolved very easily with a small amount of discretion or goodwill — especially given the value of the order and the fact I am otherwise very happy with the product.
Instead, the experience has been impersonal, rigid, and dismissive.
I run a technology business and regularly recommend products to clients. While the Xiaomi hardware is genuinely impressive, this experience means I would seriously hesitate before recommending them again.
In summary:
Outstanding phone and camera
Poor, inflexible customer service
No ownership, no escalation, and no real attempt to resolve a simple issue
A great product let down by how the customer is treated after purchase.

Bought the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G Frost Blue 12GB RAM 512GB in October 2025. Everything fine till 2 weeks ago when any sim cards would not work in it. Sent it to the repair centre and they are saying there is water damage so not honouring the warranty. This is an IP68 phone meaning it can handle continuous immersion in water beyond 1 metre. I have never dropped this phone in any liquids so I'm not sure how water can get in. The sim tray has been opened once, the day the phoned arrived. I have escalated this to a manager and await their response. In the meantime I have requested a charge back from my credit card cause this is the 2nd time they have refused repair, and if you read the forums, this is what this company do. I will never buy from them again.
Edit 25/03/26
Xiaomi did contact me after leaving this review pleading I remove this review. They still won't fix it under warranty due to water damage even though it is IP68 CERTIFIED. Fortunately I bought the phone using a credit card and was able to claim the full refund through a section 75 from my credit card company. The credit company will be getting the money back off them. I advise everyone to do the same. Never buy from them again. Companies like them still bring out the negative connotations of made in China.

I placed an order on 1 March for the Mijia Tool Kit and the Xiaomi Tag 4 Pack. Their policy states delivery within 7 days. On Sunday, 8 March, the deadline passed, and Xiaomi did not communicate with me. On Monday, 9 March, I called to find out what was happening. They emailed me to say they oversold the Tag 4 Pack, and the next batch ships on 31 March. The item is still showing as in stock on the Xiaomi UK website as of 10 March.
I also used a birthday coupon on this order. That coupon has now expired. If I cancel, I lose £10.50 permanently because they sold stock they did not have.
I contacted support twice. First Mia, then Raj - both names I now see all over these reviews. I received the same template answer from both: wait or get a refund. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They ignored that. I have been a Xiaomi customer for ten years, and this is how it ends.

Update: The delivery was delayed for two weeks due to overselling and the customer service offered nothing, but waiting. It still arrived later, but the customer service was quite disappointing.

Judging by the low ratings this will come as a surprise to no-one order delivered missing a part I hadn’t opened it in there internal 21 day policy so as far as they are concerned… tough 💩 the most uncooperative customer service I’ve ever seen you would have more luck talking to a brick wall I even offered to pay for the part that was missing again waste of time
