Absolutely awful company

Absolutely awful company. Whoever in Newark council awarded this franchise needs to have their bumps felt: no procurement due diligence! Fined £60 for taking 12 mins to buy a 24hr ticket - only used 12hrs of the time! Another one arrived overran slightly on the 5hr ticket - £1 less than a 24hr ticket I normally get - no pragmatism at all! There are choices of car parks so they've lost several thousand in our parking costs as we can easily take one of the others.

Can only echo other people’s…

Can only echo other people’s experiences that this company is unscrupulous and no empathy, understanding for disabled parking and makes it as difficult as possible for you to pay and then fine you when you couldn’t!!!

Issue PCNS even if you paid for parking!

Paid for 3 hours parking in Bude by cash. Only stayed around 2.5hours before leaving. Received a PCN saying i hadn't paid!! Daughter paid for same thing but by card and did not receive a ticket. So as there is no way to proved I paid by cash (obviously) they won't accept my appeal. Clearly there to mug people off and i won't be paying the ticket.

Another example of an appalling scamming co

Appalling company! We received a letter saying we had breached the T&C displayed on a car park signage. We had paid for an hour and were there 45 mins - even their paperwork indicates the same times. We appealed and sent a screen shot of our bank statement with proof we paid. They responded to say they can find no record of us having paid using our vehicle reg but as a "gesture of goodwill" they'd reduce the charge to £20. Absolutely disgusting. Not at all surprised to read all the over reviews!

Falsifying Information and Evidence to create a large Fine

Received a fine for what I believe was legitimate parking with the use of a cinema, and my reg went into an iPad. The “evidence” of me is on a road not at the actual car park they claim, with no signage. I can’t fully recall the day but at 40 I’ve had one other parking fine in my life which I paid as was a mistake, so unsure what happened but for certain this is ill founded to start with!

Received my first notice over a month after the claim date claiming it was the 3rd letter and £155 instead of £60 due to failure to respond to the letters that never came. Also puts me outside right to appeal, this made me think it was a complete scam but they do appear to be registered and regulated somehow?

I’ve used my rights to complain and to a Subject Access Request via post and I advise others to do this but to exercise this you will have to use special delivery to get proof as they use a PO BOX. This puts you on a £15 back foot right away, but hopefully they will take me to court and I’ll prove how they operate and counterclaim this back.

Everything they do is inside the law, but only just. Requiring complaints by mail only is allowed, using second class post and posting everything 3 days after dates is allowable, but then when Royal Mail fails it’s somehow on us. Complete Joke. For this reason the SAR and the request for poof of postage which either show that they never sent it and made false claims or shows they will use the worse service and are effectively praying on it’s failure.

It’s all tactical to ramp up fines. I won’t be paying them anything, they ramp up on their fines outside of the regulations and rules. Since we have chat gpt now I was able to dissect all this quickly and have direct links to the law around it. They are not compliant!

If anyone else is fighting them at the moment there is something called a group litigation order in the UK, it’s the equivalent of a class action in the UK.

The best thing anyone could add here is the name of a good litigation solicitor. If people keep good evidence I would put time into this myself to fight back. I’ll do my best at small claims but I think they would be mental to go there, as I have so many counter claims. At present I don’t see them being compliant with the SAR inside of the 30 days and so without the Data the rest of the false claims falls apart.

I suppose most people get stressed and think it’s easier to pay, but I’m too principled to get openly scammed like this and it is a form of scam in my opinion. I will update my progress here, for the benefit of anyone else who they are scamming and if they do take me to small claims I will counter file for each breach individually.

If anyone from the MinsterBayWatch company reads this at this point, you owe ME damages for my wasted time, attempted fraud, not following your regulations, unlawfully adding charges and likely for non compliance with my rights by the time you read this.

Also if you miss the deadline by a single day on the complaint and/or SAR I’ll take you to court for falsifying information and/or miss-handling my data respectively. If anyone has a good lawyer that can help the victims of this company please post it on the reviews!

Would rob their own grandmothers.

My son is a patron at henshaws in knaresborough and even though he's registered to park there we have now had 4 parking fines, numerous calls to solicitors and a hell of a lot of stress. Henshaws clearly can't deal with the number of complaints that have come from this farce of company and at a guess, will stop people going to support this charity. Well done Minster Baywatch! The severely disabled are such an easy target to keep the cash rolling in! Hard to get through to anyone to dispute the fines but made so easy to pay. You've nailed the system!

Absolutely disgusting company

Absolutely disgusting company with no empathy for disabled people.
Having looked for a disabled parking space under cover as it was raining, only to find mother and child spaces with the extra room which were all empty, parked in one to access the wheelchair easily, badge was displayed as always, returned to a parking ticket which after appeal was still withheld.
They should be ashamed as all we needed was a suitable space for the disabled person.
Scum, only interested in money obviously

Difficulty paying fine

This company is unscrupulous. I parked my car in a disabled bay without showing my card. My mistake and I was willing to pay the £60 fine. When I tried to use automated payment system I was told my card had expired (it hadn't). When I tried to use their website and BACS other problems arose, making it difficult to pay. I emailed them, detailing the problems but they replied informing me that they did not enter into discussion with victims and restated the payment methods in their original letter. I had to visit my bank branch to make the payment. I was told that this type of problem was not uncommon and was probably a ruse to force the fine up to £100.

Appalling outfit who do not accept ANY reason for appeal

I have had a terrible experience with Minsterbaywatch. I had been taken unwell after meeting friends for lunch. I have heart failure and sometimes my BP drops so I go dizzy and lose my balance. M&S staff kindly found me a seat and gave me water at the store entrance. I was leaving for a Heart Failure check with my doctor and I provided dated proof with full medical details of this appointment to Minsterbaywatch. I have a Blue Badge because of this. All ignored by them. I'd said that, given what had happened, I had no idea that I was even over the time limit. Their response was that I should have contacted them by the following day to explain myself - why would I when I didn't know I was over the time limit? Even worse than all of this, they simply ignore any mitigation, make it impossible to get in touch with them and do not read further emails. They just send automated responses. All I am asking for atm is PROOF or acknowledgement that I have indeed paid them. Surely this kind of practice is unethical as well as being unfair and unreasonable. I am not at all surprised that they have a 100% negative review record.

Complete farce

Claimed that they had sent me two letters for a fine, which I never received, and now it's £155. When I sent them an email, I received an automated reply saying they will not deal with any correspondence, and I need to pay them as it has gone over the time scales they impose. What an appalling way of dealing with a fine. I might start sending out a single letter now demanding £155 from people, with them having my way to contact me to raise a concern. It's boarding on criminal.

Just received a parking notice stating…

Just received a parking notice stating I’d contravened their T&Cs for an event on the 2nd of August and they state I’d changed everything required late July yet they still issued the fine. Stating they’d reduce it to £20 as a gesture of goodwill. This is an extremely incompetent company but I suppose subcontracted by a water company we shouldn’t be surprised.

I have parked on multi storey carpark…

I have parked on multi storey carpark that is owned by this company last month. I have paid prior to leaving to town £2.60 for 2 hours. I have made sure I came back within that time frame. I have received Parking charge notice for £100 stating that I haven't paid.
£60 if i pay within 14 days. I have appealed online and sent them proof of my online banking payment. They have sent response saying "Upon
reviewing our payment records for the date in question, we cannot find any payment associated for your
vehicle registration or a vehicle with a similar registration"
but as gesture of good will i can pay £20.

Absolute scammers, you should be ashamed of yourself, I will be taking things further, reporting to BPA. Its not about the amount its about a principle -scamming people and getting away with it. It needs to stop!

I wouldn't even give this company one…

I wouldn't even give this company one star.
My brother went into hospital with a stroke Saturday 12th in Hereford so my mother paid to park in Kyrle Street car park, Hereford. She clicked 3 hours on the machine and paid with her card. She then received a letter 18th July advising her she had over stayed from 16.40 to 19.37 - 3 minutes before was due to expire. She received a letter to say that the correct amount hadn't been paid and had overstayed but the machine didn't say this.
The letter said if she could pay within 14 days it would be £60 however she didn't receive her pension until today and had to pay £100. Disgusting. Profiting off vulnerable people... When you call the phone number no one answers!!!

Money for old rope

We had been using a disabled parking space within Teeside Park shopping area with a blue badge unfortunately I had thrown my cap into the car whilst there and it has covered part of the badge but you could clearly see the blue parking disc. So I have received a parking ticket for it.Firstly the statutory time for parking in teeside park is 4 hours and every car should display a parking disc but we all know that it's not the case. Secondly After reading the reviews I came to the conclusion that even if I did try and appeal the fine that my odds are against me and for them it's money for old rope. A sad state of affairs if companies like this can act without any care and attention.

Profiteering Private Car parking - uses underhand tactics to fine genuine customers

Parked at Cotswold riverside car park - went to pay for 3 hours - using pay and display machine.
Entered car reg - increased time from 1hour to 3 - before I could pay it reverted to 1 hour - tried this 3 times and thought it was a fault.
Paid for 1 hour !!
Received notice showing cctv of arriving and leaving but I challenged and appealed the fine £60 for overstaying by 1 hour 45 mins. On the grounds that the machine was not calibrated and kept defaulting to 1 hour.
Why would I risk a fine when I knew the time I would stay for.
Could not get app to download for paying on my phone.
Having read the reviews on here - I can see an appeal,to Popla would be a waste of time.
Should I visit the area again I will post a sign ( physical near entrance)for other drivers to warn of the practises this company use to profit from genuine customers and their low handed method of manipulating invoices - under the guise of legal fines - just total profiteering.

Minster Baywatch Parking

Minster Baywatch Parking: a masterclass in parasitic capitalism

Welcome to the dystopian theme park known as Minster Baywatch Parking, conveniently located in Kingston, Milton Keynes, or as I like to call it, The Place Where Hope Goes to Die in 10 Minutes or Less.

You’d think a parking company might be in the business of, you know, facilitating parking. But no. Minster Baywatch is proudly redefining their business model as “punitive revenue extraction via stealth tactics.” Blink once and you’ve overstayed your welcome. Blink twice and your wallet’s already bleeding out a £100 ‘charge notice’ for daring to exist in the wrong bay for 61 seconds.

Their signage? Strategically engineered to meet the legal minimum requirements while maximizing ambiguity. Think “Where’s Wally” but if Wally was your legal right to not be fined into oblivion.

Need to appeal? Delightful. You’ll be directed to an “independent” appeals process that makes Kafka’s The Trial feel like a Disney short. Spoiler: you lose. You always lose. Their customer service team is a black hole of pre-written auto-responses, efficient only in their ability to kill your last shred of faith in humanity.

And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: ANPR cameras so eager they probably fine pigeons for loitering.

To summarize: If you're nostalgic for the Cold War-era Stasi but with less charm and more parking enforcement, congratulations, you’ve found your people.
