Love this company, never let me down yet, from call staff to drivers, absolutely amazing. Call staff are so polite and caring making sure I get the right vehicle for my needs, drivers are super helpful with shopping and getting pram out of car, amazing people wouldn’t use anyone else, thanks nearby xx

Booked a taxi to take us to a local restaurant. We were notified that the taxi had arrived except the driver had decided to park 400 yards up the street. Tried to order a taxi home after the meal and the app told me our driver was 2 minutes away. I checked a couple of minutes later and the app told me my driver was 20 minutes away. Checked again and it told me my driver was being allocated. Not impressed. My previous experience with nearby was even worse. Ordered an 8 seater taxi a couple of weeks ago to take 4 people and 2 dogs plus luggage to our local railway station. The taxi was pre-booked the day before. At the time the taxi was supposed to arrive the app said a driver was still to be allocated. I had to phone nearby to chase up a car. The car that arrived was a normal saloon.

Had to give it a 1 star to write the review, used the app to book a taxi and the fare was estimated at £12-£14 so chose that over uber, fare ended up being over £21! For what I know is a £16 job at most absolute scam artists

I've used Budget Taxis just because they were reliable and had the nicest, best and the most respectful drivers.. However, ever since Budget taxis was taken over by Nearby LA Taxis Newcastle, all my bookings has caused me stress beyond belief and I feel just being betrayed as a customer.

Every pre-booking no matter 30 mins or even a week before needed, the booking is NOT created and sent out to the drivers to bid for, until 5-6 mins before the set booked time. Meaning, no waiting list for the drivers to see in advance AND it's NOT certain that as a customer, you'll be getting your taxi at the specified time OR even a taxi at all.

Tonight, I pre-booked 25-30 mins before I needed you. Then, 50 mins later, I tried calling to see if you could tell me a time for my cab and you just hung up on me.... 2 times in a row.

It's no use calling support from the booking as you're only redirected to book again???

Then you have the nerve to charge £2.50 in cancellation fee. You're beyond .....

I mean WTF, Nearby LA Taxis Newcastle, tell me, what is the ever point of pre-booking with you?

Why should anyone keep using you and your app or what you call "Service"?

Usually good but a taxi tonight quoted £13 on the app ended up costing £26. A bit disappointed in that.

The prices go up to weekend prices from 3pm Friday according to the driver who pick up in North Shields and made me late for a hospital surgery. The system gave my address no problem destination given north Tyneside hospital rake lane, did not understand x3 destination Morocco hospital

Got taken to the airport yesterday by a really nice gentleman. He drove a blue skoda superb. on just the gentleman alone we highly recommend this company. Definitely the go to taxi firm.

Must be the worst company for refunds I cancelled a pre booked taxi service I was told I would receive my refund within five days. I had to contact them again when I did not receive my refund I have made two online complaints for my refund but they have not returned my payment for services not received. With regards to their refund policy they are a rubbish company. I would advise you not to book pre booked services with East Coast Taxis. They have conveniently stopped replying to my emails also my second complaint with them my experience with them is definitely less than one star

Besides being a prompt and reliable service, I accidentally left my mobile in a cab this morning and it was returned to me promptly.

Driver parked blocking my drive way could not get my car on to my own drive plenty of other place where he could of parked without obstructing my drive but no he decided to block my entrance

Booked Dean Taxi ( Nearby ) via app . App not user friendly to say the least . Booking confirmed at 8.01pm , driver called to say he was outside the house at 8.04pm and then had message at 8.06 pm to say booking cancelled and no show fee of £2.50 charged !
Rang Dean to complain but clearly not interested , they claim driver waited for 5 minutes outside our house before leaving ( clearly not the case as we were outside waiting and never received a call , other than the one for the taxi we used , and only ever saw the one taxi in our street at that time ) . Appalling customer service . App doesn’t work well and from previous experience have heard from several drivers they dislike customers paying via the app as customers less likely to tip . I am convinced on this occasion the driver cancelled our booking , then appeared and took the ride knowing the card payment would be void and he would have to be paid cash . Avoid Dean taxis and Nearby - totally unscrupulous!

My experience this afternoon was abysmal. Waited over an hour and assured on several occasions that taxi was on its way. Eventually operator admitted driver had gone to wrong location and hadn't reported a "no show" . Couldn't offer another booking as no card in area. As a person with severe mobility problems I was left feeling abandoned and vulnerable. My taxi this morning was great and the driver Mr John Bell could not have been better. However this afternoon was a disaster.

try to hassle you to pay cash instead of card, then add extra charges on. total thieves

Took us to the wrong location miles from where we wanted to be missed the appointment. NEVER USE THIS TAXI SERVICE THEY ARE DIABOLICAL

Pre booked taxi prepaid by Google pay taxi arrived on time driver wanted to get me to pay with cash saying he needed petrol even though car was nearly full and said he would take me a to cash machine

I have used nearby taxis for a while now they are usually okay but the lasf few times the driver hasnt given me my change, i know its only 20p or 50ps but it soon adds up.espwcially when upu dont have a lot of money

The driver was great, but the app is awful, clearly the owners don’t give a damn about its development more concerned with their finances rather than the customer experience. It’s a waste of time pre booking as you might as well call when you arrive as they dispatch a taxi after the call, no mention of that. The only issue if your waiting and waiting and decide to cancel is a cancel fee that is deducted by the pre booking system…I bet that works perfectly. The software is clunky unrefined and clearly cheap. Noda and Eastcoast used to be brilliant…what a shame.

Dire service. Booked for 7:00pm, received a what’s app “your taxi is arriving” 1 minute later “your taxi has arrived” but no taxi. Driver marked us no-show and returned the job to the queue (must have seen a bigger fare job in the queue) had to wait until 7:45 with 79 year old friend with Parkinson’s and a 60 year old visually impaired. But the owner doesn’t care nor interested.
