Great clarification on policy

Had some questions re-policy that I wanted clarification on. Initially emailed and had good response. Advised to phone to discuss medical issues. The lady I spoke with was lovely and very helpful.

This would have been the third year…

This would have been the third year with Petgevity however their renewal price this year was astronomical. Ist year was £400+ second year £600+ this year was a whopping £900+ yes he turned 10 this year but he is really fit with no existing issues and we have never ever claimed on his insurance. After opting out of the renewal, they did manage to get the price down to £600+ however the cover was dramatically decreased and the excess and cost share had risen. I got a much better deal elsewhere.

Best customer service

My cat was insured with Petgevity for ~3 years. Claims were always handled promptly and fairly. Customer service is brilliant. My cat needed an emergency CT which I opted to direct-claim, and they corresponded with myself and my vet quickly so they could assure the claim before the Easter weekend. The person who sorted this out (I wish I could remember their name!) was so helpful and kind, and told me not to worry about anything.
Very good experience with this company and would take out another policy with any future pets.

Complicated process

I got to the end of the application and setting up the direct debit when it came up with a message Authorisation Failed then the screen went back to the very beginning, therefore I had to do the process twice.

A New 'Petgevity' Customer.

Wonderful customer service!

I don't normally write a lot of reviews, but I felt compelled to share after a chat on the phone today with a lovely lady called Rachel. My policy is due for renewal and I called to update some details. Rachel went through my policy renewal with me in detail to confirm that I still had the best level of cover for my dog, Nova. She was really friendly, efficient and listened to all of my needs. Not often you come off the phone to an insurance company with a smile, but Rachel was certainly my little day brightener today! Thank you 😊

Great cost for our 9 year old dog

Easy to get an insurance policy on our 9 year old Sprocker. As she had an issue 18 months ago this pushed up our existing policy to an absolutely ridiculous amount. We have been able to take this off the new policy and able to cover her at a sensible cost for any other issue.
As with all insurance policies you do not know how good they are until you have to claim.

Good but don’t auto renew!

Good service however don’t renew automatically with them!
Have had no issues with them generally but when renewal came through my policy jumped by £100, found the exact same petgevity policy I was about to renew for half the monthly price on a comparison site.

I am sorry to hear your renewal price is not what you were looking for. Premiums can increase at renewal for a few reasons. As pets get older, the risk of illness or injury tends to rise, which can affect the cost of cover. If you've made a claim, that can also impact your premium. Additionally, vet fees and treatment costs are rising across the industry, and these increases affect all policyholders — not just individual cases. Our prices are also regularly reviewed to remain competitive, but factors such as government tax changes, increased treatment and medication costs, and overall veterinary inflation have made it necessary to adjust our pricing to stay sustainable.

I can see that you have opted out of your renewal with us, and taken out a new policy to start from your renewal date. Your new policy is a Lifetime policy, whereas, your current policy is a Lifetime Plus policy. Petgevity offers two types of lifetime policies:

Lifetime – This is a basic policy available through comparison sites. It doesn’t include cover for pre-existing conditions and has standard limits for things like vet fees and death benefit.

Lifetime Plus – This is a more comprehensive policy available directly through Petgevity. It includes cover for pre-existing conditions (subject to screening) and offers higher limits for things like behavioural therapy and death benefit.

The new policy you have taken out has a higher excess and bill share than your current policy, so this may also have impacted the premium.

Painless operation

This was a painless operation - the website is easy to navigate and the costs are reasonable in comparison to other pet insurance options.

Great company

Very competitive prices. We lost our beloved dog not long ago to cancer and petgevity handled the claims procedure with no fuss or bother, even sending us a condolence card with some flower seeds in it to grow in rememberence of lovely Max. This company do exactly what it says on the box and then some. If we could give them 6 stars we would do so.

It was easy

It was easy, less expensive for more insurance and I’ve put 2 extra bits in and they are including Bella’s eye she had a cyst/polyp removed

We had a lot of problems setting up…

We had a lot of problems setting up standing order on renewal in 2025 got awful reminders eventhough it wasn't our fault. Our renewal this year for our cockapoo was over £900 we never claim so was quite disappointed called to ask if there was anything they could do as we are pensioners only offered a minimal amount off so we are not renewing

I can see from the policy notes that when there was a failed payment, following the renewal of your policy in April 2025, we had to unsuspend the direct debit status on our portal. A failed payment can sometimes show the direct debit status as suspended in the background. I appreciate this must have been frustrating for you at the time, and we are sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.

You can still retrieve your renewal quote with us up to 28 days from the renewal start date.
