Ordering heirloom peppers and tomatoes…

Ordering heirloom peppers and tomatoes this year since e last year's tomatoes from bakers was excellent. Exactly what I was looking for when it came to diversifying my types for different flavor notes. I ordered atleast 4 different distinguishable varieties. 3 bloom great 1 did average. Im hoping for a unique experience with the peppers ill be buying this year from the company, update with my findings as growing season progresses. Thank you baker creek!!

I ordered seeds in mid February and as of March 17th, I haven’t received anything. I see on other reviews that several people have paid and not received what was ordered. I knew better than to order from a social media site and should have looked at reviews before I ordered. It’s a shame you can’t trust anyone anymore especially in America.

You have to pay for tracking info, Really?

I am going to start by saying this, I order from this company every year, and never had issues however after this last order, of $200, not so sure I will order from them again because they will not provide you a tracking number with your order, you have to pay extra to have that information, it says, “Doesnt include-slower.” Ok, I never have received these seeds anyway other than USPS, however, to not include a service that should be automatic, because a person orders from your company, is pure stupidity! The USPS loses stuff all the time, and they lost 2 items this year, and it took me 7 months to fight them to get my money back. I am going to be frank here, why would a company not provide a necessary service, because they are lazy, or I font know, maybe you want to lose customers, or you want to charge them more for information that is rightfully theirs. Shame on you guys, charging for a tracking number, doesnt include one, Not the same company I started ordering from years ago, and probably would not recommend now on any level!

We apologize for any confusion! We ship smaller orders with smaller seeds using our free shipping method by USPS flat rate shipping, which does not include tracking. If there is ever an issue with your order not arriving, please contact us and let us know, and we will work with you. If your package is shipped by ground advantage, and has tracking, if there is an issue with the package, we will provide it to you on request, and work with you to ensure you receive your order.
Our paid shipping option not only provides you with a tracking number, but that order is given priority picking and is shipped using an expedited method, like UPS.

I've bought from them for years. Fast, free shipping of seed packets with no minimum, great catalog of different kinds of seeds, and they give you a free packet of seeds with your order. As a gardener, I couldn't be happier with them.

I love this Company!

I saw several ads for Bakers Creek on Facebook and thought to give them a try. I ordered their beautiful catalog, it is filled with all sorts of information regarding their seeds. I ordered a few seeds that I wanted to try and I had them within the week. Bakers sent me some free seed packets based on what I ordered and I am excited to try them this fall. My husband recently built me three raised gardens and I decided to plant few seeds to try it out. My plants are already 3 inches tall and I planted them only a week ago. I cannot wait to plant the rest of these seed. What a great investment for my gardens and I see a very good future with Baker Creek and myself!

Great customer service!

We've been using them to order seeds for a couple of on-campus gardens for years, and we've always had great experiences with them! We usually order a whole bunch of seeds, and they usually throw in some extra freebie packets too! The only time we ever had an issue was back in March or April when one of our orders got lost in the mail - I emailed them to check in on this, and they reshipped our package ASAP and we got it within the next week or so. Wonderful seeds and wonderful people! Thanks!

Seeds didn’t germinate

Most of the seeds I bought this year did not germinate. Not a single Malabar spinach, 2 kinds of amaranth, cilantro, free bokchoh all
Did not sprout. Radish gave me greens but no bulbs. New Zealand spinach either did not sprout. I threw money and time down the drain

We are sorry to hear you have had trouble with your seeds. We take our seed program very seriously, and we want our customers to get the best possible seeds.

To that end, we practice strict adherence to the Federal Seed Act, which requires that we test the germination rate of all lots of seed that we sell. While different crop types have different minimum germination rates, all must test at or above the minimum standard for that type, or be clearly marked otherwise.

Most of the seeds that we sell are tested by SGS, the world’s premier testing, inspecting and certification company. We have approximately 4,000 lots of seed that must be tested regularly. Our staff is responsible for sampling the seed lots and coordinating with SGS. Our staff records, tracks, and logs the results internally. No seed is packed without a valid germination report.

We try not to sell seeds with germination below the minimum federal standard, but it is sometimes unavoidable due to extenuating circumstances such as low inventory or customer demand for an exceedingly rare variety. In these cases, all seed packs are labeled as “overpacked due to low germ" and the rate must be declared on the label, along with the month and year of the test result.

Additionally, we regularly grow most of the seed varieties we offer in our trial gardens and greenhouses to assess their essential qualities such as flavor, hardiness, growing profile, and whether they grow true to type.

There are many variables outside Baker Creek’s control that may affect your seeds’ performance, including weather, soil composition, light, and pests. Additionally, seed packages may be subjected to irradiation by the postal service or be exposed to excessive weather conditions during shipping.

Baker Creek is committed to customer satisfaction. If you are unsatisfied with our seeds for any reason, we will cheerfully replace them with more seeds of the same variety, a different variety of your choice, or issue a refund. Great FAMILY business

This was only the second time I ordered from this place and they sent me some free seeds. The funny part was I never would have ordered anything like this. They are really growing well and are beautiful.
These people appreciate your business and do a great job of getting things to you in a timely manner and their products have been of great quality. Keep up the good work!

Customer for Decade +

I've been a customer for over a decade, and I have enjoyed the variety of unique and novel seeds. I especially enjoy growing something new each year along with "the usual" stuff I grow each year. I've always had reliable results and enjoy the quality and success that I've had.

Unsatisfied with Baker Creek Seeds

I ordered most of my seeds from Baker Creek this year. I sell plant starts at the Farmers' Market. I try to offer varieties that are not at the big box stores and local nurseries. However, the Baker Creek seeds were the worst germinating seeds I have ever used. I have much better success with seeds from Dollar Tree.

Great germination rate/ responsive customer service

In full transparency, my package was delayed due to a USPS error. I was paranoid when it was late bc I was so eager to get my seeds started in time to get them in the ground as soon as possible. Baker creek was responsive when my package was lost and made sure my package got to me asap.
So far I’ve had 100 percent germination rate and expect my plants to thrive like they always do when I use this company. Cannot wait for my first BLaT with a juicy ananas noir tomato.

I ordered seeds on march 10 still have not received seeds as of March 24. Shipped from baker creek in Missouri tracked package as of March 23 still in Iowa. I live in Ga. Will not order from them again

Used to be great

Used to be great. Not anymore. Done with them.

Also the reply from them is nonsense. After several fruitless efforts demanding a refund, and enduring several curt, unpleasant and likely machine generated messages from them, I emailed them early in the morning two days ago. that I was disputing the charge. That is apparently what galvanized them into action to finally issue a refund - a full day and a half after I told them I was going to dispute the charge.
I will never do business with them again.

And again this second response is total nonsense. They were never helpful. They were obstructionist. Also notice that these responses are unsigned with zero contact information.

We are so sorry to hear that. I see your package was delayed by USPS, but was due to deliver the day we responded to your email, saying if it didn't deliver that day, to let us know and we'd be happy to issue a refund, which we have done at this time.

In our 1st email response to you on the 15th, we said" This order was purchased with the free shipping option that does not include order tracking capabilities. This order was shipped on 2/25 and we advise to allow up to 10 - 14 business days for delivery.
Please let me know if this order is not delivered today and I will be happy to refund. "

Avoid these peiple

No customer service response. Only have email and don't respond. I don't think they even sent the order. Terrible company for not communicating with custimers. Won't know what the seeds are like since I never received them.

And, if you buy several packets, they will throw in a mystery package. I got seeds I have never tried to grow. FAKE tracking number, NO seeds, Charged me

BUYER BEWARE!
This used to be a decent company many years ago, but they have gone downhill and FAST. They will charge your credit card for an order you place, then they will provide you with a FAKE tracking number that does NOT exist and you never get your seed order. Needless to say.... I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau! No one should be treated like this, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. To put it simply, they do not care, they just want your money.

I'm sorry, but as I said in my last email, we have answered your questions and emails numerous times. The post office will not be able to track the package, because, your order was shipped as a flat rate envelope, and that number is an internal easypost tracking number only. That means you can only track it through the easypost link we've provided multiple times. As I've said, we ask that you allow 10 business days for the package to arrive, and If you do not have your order by the 20th, let me know and we'll go from there.

my seeds left the country

I ordered my seeds, and after several weeks, they hadn't arrived. Lost in the tracking system, and finally showed up in Puerto Rico (I'm in New England) Company finally emailed back (you cannot call them via phone) that they couldn't understand what happened. Supposed to send another round of seeds but nothing yet. They DID bill me. Attorney General will be my next contact if I don't hear back soon.
