HORRIBLE experience!!!!

HORRIBLE experience!!!!

in order to review a meeting recording, I had to sign up for read.ai and it started auto-recording my Zoom meetings without my requesting this to be done. Horribly embarrassing.

Deleted it immediately and won't think highly of any organization that uses it as a business practice, either!

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. We wrote them to get on a call to discuss our challenges with the platform and they asked us to cancel our subscription. When escalated to the CEO, he did not care to respond either.
Worst experience with any SaaS platforms out there.

Poor service

I have installed read.ai as an app in Zoom and was expecting to get the 12 months plan associated with it, which didn't happen. I contacted the support, and that was a very unpleasant experience. Asking to pay for pro plan to get the equivalent service, and told me this was not their problem. Got support from David and then asked to help solve the problem, and was just ignored. Very poor customer service, I won't recommend using their service and looking for more professional services.

Poor Service and Leadership

A colleague recommended ReadAi several months ago. When I tried the free trial, I was impressed and immediately signed up for an annual subscription. The functionality it provided not only helped me to improve my professional skills, it established awareness, and streamlined my meetings.

However, I have experienced some glitches in system functionality. Specifically, ReadAi would not join meetings as scheduled, automated join feature did not function, and reports would not be available or would be blank. To maximize use of the system and to ensure I understood the functionality, I followed up with their support team on several occasions. In every instance, I was met with negativity, and it appeared they were irritated I was asking for assistance.

After further review of my interactions and in review of the email signature, it appears the Co-Founder & CEO, David Shim, is the individual who is responding to service tickets. And not in a positive way. Nor was he humble enough to accept feedback on system issues. He never directly answered my questions, always gave me a convoluted response as to why it was occurring, and never provided an answer on how to avoid it going forward (even though I had asked several times). In fact, when he did provide information, it was inaccurate, incomplete and/or did not reflect the actual situation.

At no time was I negative about the system, simply seeking answers to utilize it and praised the functionality that was working. In fact I informed him of the value I was receiving but indicated I would like to learn how to avoid the issues I was experiencing.
But, yesterday David and ReadAi fired me as a client, indicating "it's clear we're not able to meet your expectations" and cancelled my subscription. Without fully answering any of my questions, or seeking to understand what functionality was not working, just simply decided having me as a customer was not convenient to them.

As customers, we have the right to ask for clarification on system functionality. Good leaders would use those questions to enhance product development, training, user guides, or to elevate service. I would have expected more from a seasoned professional and am very disappointed with his approach, style, and lack of service.

I will be sure to share this experience with my clients, COIs, and peers (and all of you), as I have been a huge advocate of ReadAi up UNTIL NOW. To date, I have actively promoted the company to everyone I interacted with and encouraged others to join. Today, this will cease based as the quality of service, interactions with the support team (and leaders) -- which has a direct impact on the brand and credibility of an organization.

This is a start up company and their approach to customer sevice is very disappointing. I hope this review trail is being tracked so the investors know what type of leaders are running this company and who are not being held accountable to their actions. Be aware.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

WOW. I just started using the Enterprise version of Read.ai to help with meeting notes, etc. It is extremely invasive and everything about it is set up in service of their aims, not the customers/users (lead generation, data scraping everything you talk about, etc). Not only does it demand access to your calendar (and all of your contacts), it joins all of your zoom calls automatically (whether you want it or not), but worst of all the DEFAULT for sharing settings it to automatically send fulls meeting reports (video/summary/transcriptions) to EVERYONE who is on the calendar invite. Not just to people who attend the meeting. It does this by DEFAULT and doesn't let the paying user know ahead of time. I was in a very large meeting with several organizations including some clients. At the end of the call I ended the recording and a few folks stayed back and shared some personal information. I didn't think anything of it and figured I'd review the meeting notes, recording, etc. before I sent them out to everyone the following day. I didn't realize that Read.ai was still recording and as soon as the call ended it AUTOMATICALLY sent the full report to everyone without my knowledge or prior consent (it is the default setting). I found out because a colleague who wasn't even on the call (but was on the calendar invite) let me know. Why in 2023 would automatic and open sharing be the default setting you ask? Because it supports their lead generation. It sent an email with a full summary then when my colleagues clicked to "see more" they had to sign up for an account. Absolutely ridiculous, not to mention, creepy and self serving. I canceled my account and will be sure to tell everyone how creepy this product is. Also worth noting their data privacy is essentially non-existent. They're using your meeting data for all kinds of things outside of your control which is crazy, especially as you're already paying them a subscription fee for the service. There's no way to opt out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Go with a different company that has ethics.

OverAgressive

A colleague used Read.ai to record a zoom meeting that I wanted to review. I had to set up an account to view the recording and information. Not a big deal.
But then Read.ai invited its self to all my zoom meetings and wanted to record them for me. The interruption to meetings that I didn't want Read.ai to attend and then the continued hassle of deleting my account. The user experience was obnoxious.
I use otter.ai intermittently and is a much better experience.
