First time using Rival Strength and a bit nervous doing so. But I need not have worried - great service and super quick delivery. They weren’t the cheapest I could have gone with, but had the product that I wanted which others didn’t, and I’m happy with my purchase.

I am leaving this review (which is rare for me) out of sheer appreciation for this companies brilliant products and customer service.

If you are reading this review, its likely because there are an overabundance of options on the internet when looking for home gym equipment. Let me save you the trouble, pick these guys, you wont regret it - trust me.

But, if you are unsure, read through this review (I am not a bot, i promise... lol).

Initially Rival Strength stood out to me because they use 11 gauge steel on their Rack frames (the same as Rogue or REP), have a very well deserved 4.9 rating on trust pilot, with Sam personally responding to alot of the messages, and are reasonably priced to boot. So i took the plunge.

I ordered over £2k worth of equipment, including an S-2 half rack, pulley system, olympic bar, bench, weights, attachments, the whole hog. Now, just for reference, I am ex military and now a Physiotherapist, so naturally I have been a 5-6 day a week gym go-er my entire adult life in dozens of gyms all around the world, so I really know my way around this kind of equipment, and know exactly what I need and what to look for.

I ordered just before the double bank holiday, I was called up by Sam, and told that unfortunately it wouldnt arrive until after the holidays, I was gutted as my brother was visiting that weekend and i wanted to flex on him! I pleaded with Sam, and he said 'leave it with me'. He later called me and told me he could do it before the weekend, but the pad of the bench has a slight scratch on it, but they can replace it later. I agreed. He also said that the pulley system I ordered does not fit the rack I ordered, but he would send me some extra parts to enable me to retrofit it together and make it solid (which it is.) He later followed up after delivery to sort out the pad on my bench and to make sure my pulley system worked out ok.

The pallet arrived, I unpacked it all, and bloody hell... I remember being amazed by the sheer weight and quality of everything, the welds look really clean and each bolt that connects the frame together are almost comically big and heavy - this stuff is no joke. All the attachments, the olympic bar, the bench feel super premium, you would need to really abuse it over the course of many years to render any of it unusable.
I have used the gym everyday since I ordered it, and have had a massive smile on my face for every session, it all works exactly as intended, the frame is more sturdy than my house, and it all looks awesome.

Bought the leg press/hack squat, great bit of kit. I couldn’t decide between this one and the Primal one, but what swayed me in the end was the smaller footprint and the price. Rival had a discount offer on, and could deliver a couple of days after ordering, so went for it and very happy I did. Arrived as scheduled, very well packaged and took just over an hour to assemble on my own. I was slightly worried about depth of range when I first tried the hack squat (I’m 5’11) but moved the footplate up a couple of holes and all good. Can get nice and deep and still have some adjustment left in the plate. My only criticism, and it is a tiny one, would be to add some handles at the bottom to lock yourself in during leg press. It’s a personal thing, which I got over by using a multi grip strap across bottom of machine, gives me something to pull against. I’ll probably look for a decent D handle and bolt a pair somewhere around the bottom or use a hammock strap and dig out a pair of handles I don’t use much anymore and connect with a snap hook. Wouldn’t stop me buying or recommending, and will definitely buy from Rival again. Highly recommend.

Equipment is second to none and probably a little over engineered for a home gym but can’t complain about that.

The delivery time was very quick! They are good quality weights, very happy with them

I'd not used Rival Strength before but after an exhaustive search, they came out with the best price for the equipment I needed. The items were well pagaged with no damage to anything. When they arrived on a pallet, the parts that needed it were super simple to put together. The dumbbells did come with a protective coating on the rubber which was easy to wipe clean leaving no smell.

My experience was great and I can't fault that. Very professional and customer service was spot on. The 4 stars was my final score because I didn't consider that the hole spacing was different from other brands which was my mistake because I wanted to use it for my different brand squat rack which also had 1" holes but more seperation on the uprights. The jammers do have an oval pin hole to fit a 1 inch pin from different distances but it fell short with the opening, so I had to tack on my own pins to wedge the opening i had. I could drill it but it will mess with plastic protectors and it'll come loose with long term use and i dont want the effort to drill extra holes on my squat rack which will affect the integrity of the uprights. The only thing I will change with the product is to increase the pin spacing by 3/4 inch where the pin hole is. I'm aware this is primarily made for it's own system but its rare to come across a solid product for 50mm uprights, it just fell short with pin holes. Another picky additional improvement is to have an option to make the jammer arms adjustable (side to side) so you can have different variations of grips to make it wider or narrower.

Since writing this review I have been contacted by the team to replace the old bracket with the new updated and upgraded bracket for the jammers. I have tested it and it made a huge difference! Very solid and it will stay on the squat rack without shifting. I couldn't ask for more and I will be looking to purchase from them in the future. 5 stars for the resolving the issue and excellent customer service.

Good product fast delivery. Needed some shorter handles so i had to cut them down. Now i have a long & short pair. Though i wish they sold a shorter version in the first place too. Looking forward to the next load of attachments. Hopefully aimed at the jammer arms.
