RocketGro Avis 79

I bought RocketGro to add to my veg patch over winter and my asparagus is growing so fast this year we can nearly keep up with it. Great product, would recommend.

I’ve now used almost all the RocketGro products available and have yet to find one that I haven’t loved. In fact, I’ve not used any other brands since. Not only is their backstory wonderfully wholesome but the products are actually really brilliant in their own right. My plants and garden have thrived. This brand is probably my favourite garden discovery yet!

I used Rocketgro last year, using their Fruit & Veg and their Multipurpose with John Innes. I also tried their seed sewing compost. I wasn't so impressed with the seed growing, it caked too easily for my needs, but the others were brilliant. Because I grow fruit, veg and ornamentals for our own use (all but self sufficient in veg) and to sell plants at the gate to support the National Garden Scheme, I decided it was easier for me to use just one sort of compost, so I settled on the Multi with JI and ordered a pallet of it. I am thrilled so far with this years results. Finding Organic compost has always been difficult so this is a revelation. Thank youu Rocketgro!!!

Post transplanting young plants 30 tomato plants and 30 chilli plant into RocketGro compost, 5 tomato plants died fairly quickly ie a few days, remaining started to discolour, curl and did not grow at all. The chilli plants also showed signs of struggle.

After 2 weeks, to save the crop, I re-planted into a compost brand I’ve previously used, when I saw the root system of all 30 tomatoes and 30 chilli plants had become mutilated ie thick, short and stumpy roots less than half a centimetre in length.

I contacted the compost company (with photo evidence) and RocketGro responded with ‘gardener error’ and blamed me for not transplanting properly. They used my dying plants as further reinforcement of how nutrient rich their product is, and did not even comment on what had happened with the weird mutilation of the root system on ALL 60 plants.

I’ve been successfully growing fruit and veg for years. This is by far THE WORST COMPOST I have ever used.

Please take the time to read the large portion of negative reviews. I really wish I had seen them before purchasing a very large amount of soil.

Great to have a peat free organic approved compost that works! Used lots to the range over our extensive garden and the garden loves it!

Would not purchase from this company ever again. The soil I bought from them is completely contaminated with fungus gnats. I tried to contact the company but they have failed to respond, unfortunately I have lost a lot of time and money. A lesson learnt.

This will be our third season using rocket grow which was primarily procured for soil enhancement and as a compost alternative. It’s been superb with the most unexpected benefit that it’s been a brilliant weed stop cover. Cannot over praise this added benefit and will be extending its coverage throughout our entire garden. Plants love it … weeds hate it… WIN WIN

Thanks for the delivery of our pallet of mulch. I was particularly impressed by the two delivery drivers. The attempted delivery yesterday was not possible because of parked cars in our access road but an alternative arrangement was agreed and today the delivery vehicle was equipped with an electric pallet truck which worked around the congestion.
Both drivers were pleasant, calm and organised. An excellent service.

I agree with all the negative reviews for Rocketgro, it’s definitely the worst compost I’ve ever used in 50 years of gardening, full of fungus fly and the plants did not thrive.
I bought last spring and spent most of the season trying to get rid of the fly.
I did email them about horrible stains that were left after watering but they did not reply.
Rocketgro should listen to their customers after all we are the gardeners we know about compost.

I love this company!

I stumbled across their brand in my local garden centre and bought some Mulch on a whim. This is the second winter that I have covered my garden in the Mulch and already I have noticed how much improved the soil texture is and loads more worms.

Last spring I ordered their Seed and Cutting compost which is amazing. It's got a really lovely fine texture and I had super high germination rates, so was delighted. I will certainly be ordering more Seed and Cutting compost in the spring.

Love that their Eco credentials are so spot on and that I can recycle the bags at the supermarket.

The worst compost I have ever used. 1 it absolutely stinks and was full of flies when opening. I could put up with that but it does not hold water at all!!! I used this for my pots and hanging baskets this year and it’s the worst they have ever been, the plants haven’t grown at all since planting up in May, I always add water gel crystals and granulated feed when planting up but the water just runs straight through, it is also brown and stains the path/ patio. Wasted £100 on plants using this stuff, never will I use this brand again

I bought 3 growbags in in good faith. It was a new brand to me. I put three plants in each rather than 4 as I have found with other brands that this improves yield.
Two were cucumbers. The rest were tomatoes. In all the years that I have been using growbags I have never had such a sorry result. Leaf development is small and a yellowy green and trusses few and fruiting sparse.

Purchased 3 of these deep fill peat free bags for a mix of 6 tomatos (in 2 of the bags), 2 cucumbers and one courgette. These are expensive bags, but I thought well if they are as productive as claimed it was worth a try. I've done this successfully for many years with other brands ie plants grow well and produce lots of veg/tomatos, but this year has been awful. The tomatos plants are lanky and not at all healthy looking. The two cucumbers died within 2 weeks and the courgette went beserk- ie grew fast and produced numerous flower heads but only two wierdly shaped stumpy courgettes. The plants were not diseased and were watered correctly. Overall very unhappy and will never buy this brand again.

ordered a bulk delivery of 3 of their products. Seed and cutting compose ok, but Multi purpose and vegetable compost was very poor. Contacted to ask if it was missing its added nutrients, was told that its best to use a liquid feed as will, even though the bags state that it has three months feed incorporated.
Further email, was not replied to!!

Their Seed & Cutting Compost is too lumpy for seeds to grow. I tried and failed, lost out on a month's worth of sowings for my small market garden business. I bought 5 bags and opened 3 all the same large pieces of bark more suitable for potting on.
I wrote to them to inform them suggesting perhaps it was a bad batch but the rude reply told me I was lying and didn't know what I was talking about.
I believe they should have thanked me for the information, apologised and offered a refund.
