Great Customer Service!

after my cat went missing for 3 days I decided to buy a safer pet tracker, the tracker is a great size and not heavy! Safia helped me with the set up of the tracker and she was so patient and friendly with me. I couldn’t fault the company at all!

Never ever worked!!

Never ever worked!!! After several phone calls still didn’t work!!! Told them didn’t want it anymore, received a letter today threatening county court!!! I’m fuming how dare this company charge me for a service I’ve never used and cancelled 😡 don’t buy thus product

I purchase my tracker when dog was a puppy had it a few months not not keen plastic covers on charging points hard to excess, Information booklet poor holder for collar on dog not good either sorry purchased now. Since I first published this review I have been contacted by the company and they will not refund any outstanding money I paid for a years cover. Over all I think tracker is not worth money and there service is very bad. I have engaged with your company and may say not a very good one. You have now taken a payment I cancelled which I am not happy about. Over all think you adverts do not give full information on your services

As I understand it the team have offered you the option to sell the device and subscription and we would be more than happy to transfer the subscription to another user if you wish. Far too big and missleading terms

Far too big and missleading terms. This product is far too big for a normal sized cat - bulky and uncomfortable, our cat hated it, it's been a complete waste of money.
Be wary of the terms, once you've signed up to a 5 year rolling contract, that's it, you're locked in and have to carry on paying even if you've stopped using the product - this wasn't obvious when making the initial purchase.
We switched to Apple airtags which have been brilliant.

Problem with tracker …

We had a glitch with our tracker recently. The GPS stopped working. The online chat wasn’t on. I phoned and emailed. It took about two weeks before tge problem was resolved. All the people who contacted me were kind and helpful and kept going until the problem was resolved.

Disappointed with the accuracy of the…

Disappointed with the accuracy of the location and battery life . I couldn't locate the tracker that my cat Charlie had lost because the location kept changing. As this happened at a weekend I couldn't contact Safer pet. On the Monday they were too busy. Eventually I was able to contact them on the Tuesday. I found the tracker which seemed to be moving about although my cat was no longer wearing it. No one had found it and was moving it, which was suggested by Safer pet. I couldn't understand their explanation about neighbouring wifi interference that moved the location. The jury is out over this tracker. It definitely needs to be more accurate.

I have been a user I think maybe a year…

I have been a user I think maybe a year or just under the item itself when it decides to work is great but most of the time it doesn't, I do how ever have boast about their customer service I have been talking to Safia, they have been absolutely amazing through it all overall though would I get this brand for my 2nd cat? No far too many issues may be cheaper than most which I appreciated but I do feel it just doesn't really work battery life short even on power saving most the time doesn't connect even if the cat is away from the house. 7/10 times did mean cat was on door step but the other 3 he was put exploring, I feel their customer service is out of this world if they can work on the tracker/app its self some more theybwill have an amazing product as when it works it works it is light weight easy to use and set up 100% good value for money overall I just wouldn't buy another as I feel it isn't good enough to keep up with others on the marker who do come in a little prices, a year in yes battery does deplete a little but I'm getting notifications from the app 2 hours after a full charge. Work out your kinks safer pet Safia is an amazing contribution to your brand

We seek him here, we seek him there - now we can find him

After our cat ran off for 4 days, we bought him a SaferPet tracker. Even though he is 11, he's not been bothered by having to wear a collar - and are we glad we got this for him
We had no idea where he went, we live in a rural area and assumed he wandered around the fields on our side of the road - but now we can see where he is, and with the tracking ability we can trace where he has been, we are amazed how far he travels at night if not home. He's been gallivanting across the railway line even, must be a good mile away and is having no trouble getting in his 10000 steps daily :-)
For piece of mins alone, the SaferPet cat tracker is worth every penny, now we know if he doesn't come home for a couple of days, we can see where he is/where he's been and go and fetch him if we want to

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service, prompt replies and issues sorted. This tracker is brilliant for locating your cat’s whereabouts which is the important thing. Might not have as many bells and whistles as other trackers but the battery life is much better. I have used a number of different trackers over the years and this is very simple to set up and use.

Good value tracker

Good value tracker. I found it slightly difficult to set up initially but figured it out. Very good support from their help desk at Safer Pet. Pleased with my purchase and have recommended to friends for their cats.

Geofence feature?

Have bought a few of these trackers, best value as our cat keeps losing them and also lightest/smallest tracker available.

Will a geofence feature ever be added? Wish we could get alerted when our cat leaves a certain area. Ubeequee trackers have this feature and they're essentially the same. Thanks

Excellent customer service

Firstly, I would like to say that I have always received very good customer service when phoning the customer service team.
Negatives: I find the battery life is not great despite putting it on the settings recommended.
The step count doesn’t always work; I don’t expect it to be accurate but 9/10 it records nothing. When I enquired with the CS team, I was told it was a secondary feature, the main feature being tracker and it depends how my dog moves. After a two hour walk I would have thought that it would record something.
Lastly, quite often I like to look at the route we travelled by looking at the app. This app would suggest that my dog either only did part of the walk OR that I turned it on and off intermittently whilst out walking (or is this another ‘secondary feature’.
My advice to anyone looking to purchase this tracker is to think carefully if you choose the 3 year’s subscription because if you find this device to not be right for you, you are tied into paying for three years. I.e. there is no get out clause.
Thankfully I have not needed to use the device to locate my lost dog but knowing it’s on him is reassuring.
31/07/2023 I think it’s only fair to the safer pet team to provide a new and updated review.
Following my initial review, I was contacted by the customer service team who through our conversation, supported me with resting the device so that the device is now tracking my dogs step count and the route we took on a walk.
I was even contacted regularly for a while after this to ensure the device was giving me what I expected. Very impressed.
Also, after the device suffered a fault where it suddenly stopped charging and wouldn’t turn on, they sent me a replacement, helped me remove the old device from the app and set the new one up.
This now works as it should and I am a happy customer.
Once again, the customer support team could not be faulted.

Avoid at all costs

Would recommend!

Set up was easy although had to contact customer service to link the sim to get location data. I left a voicemail as they were busy and after reading other reviews I wasn't sure if I would have gotten a call back but I did, the gent was polite and friendly and sorted the issue right away. Battery life is fine, I can get about 2 days max out it but it charges really fast anyway so if you need to charge it and your pet is itchin to go out then stick it on for half an hour to an hour and you'll be good for that day.

My second experience, I used the online chat (which I think might be new) I got a reply straight away from an actual person, not a bot and they sorted my issue straight away. I lost the tracker and the thing was dead by the time I realised, they offered me 50% off for a replacement which was really good.

The only thing I didn't really like the fact that the subscription was minimum 1 year but it forced me to use the tracker to get my monies worth and plus it's nice seeing where my cat wanders to and how many steps hes getting in every day. I'd say the location was pretty accurate, I live in a new housing estate just outside Glasgow and get good reception.

If I could make some recommendations - probably wished the tracker itself was a bit smaller. My cat is a big boy and weights about 7kg. It fits just right for him but my other cats who are about 4kg will struggle... IMO anyway.

I had to call to get help to connect my tracker…

I had to call to get help to connect Ryan was amazing ! Listened understood empathised and found a quick solution. He remained on the phone while I sorted it. And rang back later to make sure everything was working well . Also organised my subscription to start again as I hadn’t been using the devise, without me asking too. Very very helpful polite and would definitely recommend!

Great bit of kit, but battery life is rubbish

Brilliant bit of kit, customer service very good when I had problems with the simm card saying it was in China, but the battery life is rubbish doesn't even last a day, so if your pet goes missing for more than a day it's no good.

Safer Pet - Avoid!

Don't risk it! I purchased this in October from Amazon. At first, it was ok, not very accurate and poor battery life but for £30 I'll accept it. The subscription is £6 per month for a year minimum.
In December it stopped working all together. I contacted Saferpet direct to see if there was something I'd done wrong to which they immediately said water damage and that that wouldn't be covered under a warranty so on this occasion they would send me a new one out free of charge. I knew it wasn't water damage as my dog doesn't swim so I questioned this and said actually, if it is water damage then the product is not fit for purpose as it can't have been submerged so must have been due to rain. Regardless I don't know how they could assume this seeing as they didn't have the product to investigate so I agreed to send it to them at my expense, but I wanted a refund for the product as it's not fit for purpose!
They received it, point blank refused to refund me, refused to cancel my subscription and offered to charge me for a new one for £15 - half the price. It was water damage and I had submerged it, as the product is 'splash proof'. End of story. So I'm left without a tracker and with a subscription to said device still being taken from my account. Luckily , I had purchased this through Amazon, and at the end of my tether with customer service, I rang Amazon and told them my story. They couldn't have been more helpful and refunded me in full and reported Saferpet as a bad seller.
I've cancelled my subscription through my bank so I'm not sure how that is going to play out, but if you decide to purchase this product, do it on the assumption that it will break, not be refunded and you will be left paying a monthly bill. Amazon 5*, Saferpet avoid!

Bought present and paid for one year…

Bought present and paid for one year subscription. Living in ROI. The tracker is only showing off line and the customer care number is not working . Awaiting reply via email. Will cancel and return device if issue is not solved soon.
