Your website needs work. 2nd time I’ve gotten a gift certificate for no plants received or dead plants. Each time had to call for help using it the certificate. Customer service guy was nice.

Bought six tree lilys last year. Most but not all came up. Unfortunately rabbits ate them right down to the dirt and they didn't survive but that isn't your fault, just a warning to others.

I ordered 2 hibiscus plants last year
I ordered 2 hibiscus plants last year. 1 of them was completely dead when I got it. I planted it anyway, but it never did anything. The other one grew great, but did not winter over. This year I ordered products nd they sent me a totally different bush from what I had ordered. I have tried to call numerous times and email the company several times. Nobody is available to answer my calls and no response to me email. What a terrible business. I want replacement of the 2 hibiscus plants or my money back.
Terrible communication
Terrible communication. Ordered $166 of clematis in January for Feb delivery. No notice of backorder or delay. Emailed in March, said they would ship in a few weeks! It’s 4/25 and no order, called a said all were cancelled except one. No communication at all! I asked for refund.
Very sad they don’t communicate with customers.
This seller is not trustworthy
The seller took the order as advertised but failed to disclose that the product was on back-order. They failed to notify of inability to deliver within the per order estimated window. After I have cancelled the order because of their gross misinformation, they indicated that refund will take 30 days!
Long History of Good Service
I have spent about $600 at Spring Hill Nurseries over the past 3 decades and have never had a problem. I was able to order beautiful trees and shrubs not easily available elsewhere (Varigated Weeping Japanese Snowbells) that I planted on the four corners of my bridge. Never had any problems with service, delivery or the plants. Getting ready to order a lot of roses.
Tree was delivered in very cold…
Tree was delivered in very cold conditions after the biggest snowstorm here in years. It's dead. Reached out to the company. No response. Left a review on their website. They didn't publish it. Extremely poor service. Will never deal with them again.
Shipped plants to Wisconsin in the winter
We're in WI where we'll get subzero temps in the winter. I placed an order for live plants in June 2024. They sent them November 20, 2024. I tried to call 5 times on three different days and couldn't get through. I emailed them and got nothing for a few days so reached out to our local greenhouse for advice. They stated they absolutely cannot be planted, and I'd have to overwinter them, allowing them to go dormant, then bring them back around March so they could be planted around June 1.
What seed/plant company doesn't know planting zones?
A few days later, I finally got an email response and was given a $10 credit on my next purchase. Nice.
So now I have to hope to keep 3 daisy and 2 honeysuckle plants, which were growing new leaves when arrived, alive for six months in the house.
I ordered an extremely rare peonies…
I ordered an extremely rare peonies from walmart.com and their vendor was spring Hill nursery. I've ordered a couple plants from Walmart and I have always been so disappointed but I thought I would take a chance because no one else was selling this particular peony root. A couple days before the order was supposed to arrive, I got noticed that the order had been canceled which was upsetting but understandable when dealing with rare flowers. Much to my surprise, when I got to my garden the next day there was a package. It seems to me that they must have run out of larger root and instead of charging me for a smaller root they sent me the smaller one and return my money. I am on a very tight budget and this is a flower that I wanted desperately and my appreciation for how this company handled themselves professionally makes Walmart looks good. Makes them look good. I'm just so grateful! So grateful I've been looking for places to thank them ever since!
I ordered a snowcicle oakleaf hydrangea plant
I ordered a snowcicle hydrangea plant, when it arrived the leaves were mostly dead after removing the dead leaves, not much of a plant left to plant. I'm hoping it grows/lives, but I'm doubtful. For 42.39 including shipping, I feel I got ripped off.
Spent $200 on a 5 gallon Japanese Maple…
Spent $200 on a 5 gallon Japanese Maple and they sent a mostly dead 1 gallon plant. Poorly packed, there was no dirt in the pot it was all over the box. (With a very small root ball)
Customer service is poor, and as far as I’m concerned the place is a scam.
I had this experience today September 23, 2024
I had this experience earlier this year and let it go. I spent the weekend reviews the order I wanted on $10 plant sale and free shipping. Made the order on Sunday evening, Sept 22nd. the website said it would send a number to my phone to verify it was me but I never received a number. When I called on Monday to say what happened I was told I would have to pay the regular price. It is not my fault that your computer didn't send me the number to complete the order. when I asked what could be done, the person the order deck said nothing. I asked to speak to a supervisior and they said they didn't have one I could talk or could call me back. Some customer service!!!!!! Howard McCall
Do NOT purchase from this company
I have ordered plants from other sources before and was very satisfied. Spring Hill was an absolute nightmare. The plants took forever to arrive. When they arrived, the plants were extremely unhealthy and much smaller than described. I had to remove a great deal of dead and dying leaves. I contacted customer service and got a rash of excuses with no offer of replacement or compensation. My next step will be to notify the Better Business Bureau. This company should not be in business. They are guilty of misleading advertising, poor quality products, over pricing, and horrific customer review.
Don’t Be Tempted To Order Buyer Beware
Worst experience with ordering trees, flowers, shrubs and bulbs. I’ve been using Springhill Nurseries and their sister companies for over 20 years and have had the absolute worst customer service experience this year. They’ve always had a Lifetime warranty on everything. I called to discuss a rose bush that I was having issues with the last two years. I wasn’t asking for a refund just some help understanding the two rose bushes. I spent $69.99 for each bush as jumbo bare roots. Both rose bushes were supposed to be Grand Dame which are a deep pink rose. Both of my bushes have reverted to the original rose roots which are Dr Huey and they’re known for killing off the graft. I didn’t understand this when I ordered my roses and didn’t understand it until I did further research after contacting Springhill for help. Customer service told me roses don’t magically change colours and I obviously was trying to get free roses. I wasn’t asking for a refund or new roses, I just wanted to understand what had happened. The representative went on to say they only do a No Risk Guarantee that says you will receive a healthy bareroot and if you don’t immediately complain there’s nothing they can do. Representative wouldn’t even help me to speak with one of their master gardeners or even a supervisor. I had also ordered plants this year that arrived dead or they completely substituted with items that weren’t even close to what I was ordering. Plants took over a week to arrive and when I complained that they were dead, representative tried to tell me they didn’t ship a live plant and I needed to wait for eight weeks and give it a chance. I received a potted dead plant and the description even stated it was shipped in a four inch pot. I would not recommend anyone use Springhill Nurseries nor their sister companies. Also beware ordering Hostas as they have the HVX virus!
Read shipping dates carefully
This is a recap an earlier review, and what i notice is a list of shipping dates of different types of plants, shrubs, trees, etc... and you have to see when it shipped from their warehouse. If not all in the category it may take time to ship. Luckily all my plants survived, bruised from delivery due to delayed delivery..
Done ordering from them.
Was ordering from them. Disappointing quality. Last order, none of them grew. Didn't realize it was them, not me. I tried a different company, Proven Winners, showed me good quality and good customer service.
Product I purchased was a lie!
I’m actually really upset. I purchased a Mayer lemon tree from this buisness 2 years ago and read the discription very carefully. Spent $110. On this lemon tree to have the grafted part of the trees rootstock over take and kill the Mayer lemon part of my tree. No where in discription did it state this is a grafted tree that would not be a fruit tree. Funny I found a myer lemon tree at Lowe’s for $39.95 that is not a grafted tree and is living and producing plenty of fruit. I’m extremely disappointed this was not disclosed and I paid so much for a trash tree. Don’t let these people fool you too!
Absolutely the worst!
Absolutely the worst! Ordered a rose 2 months ago. Followed the website daily. It was never updated. All I saw on my order was “unfulfilled”. Called several times; customer service seemed bothered that I called. Kept getting poor shipping dates that were pushed back over and over. They NEVER contacted me or apologized. I’m done. Don’t do it! Find another nursery!
Customer service is TERRIBLE
Customer service is TERRIBLE! I have been waiting over 2 weeks for a delivery, They told first its one day then another . Today I was told they were very busy- and maybe it will go out this week or next! Really have not practiced the art of customer service nor to they even care.
Extreme disappointment
I purchased a Violet’s Pride rose for a memorial garden in memory of a lady whose name is Violet.
I chose the field grown larger rose in the 3gal. pot.
After waiting over a month, the rose was shipped. Intuition told me to video myself opening the box and I’m glad I did.
This rose bush, that was supposed to have an established root system, had two roots and you could tell it was a small bareroot that had been shoved into the pot and covered with wet mulch.
Most of the ‘mulch’ was in the plastic bag that the pot was placed in.
The rose had 5 small buds on 5 broken canes. Half of the rose bush had to be pruned back and the remainder of the plant is still wilted.
Now, I must stress that the customer service workers are always the best and I did receive a full refund, but I will not be ordering anything from Spring Hill or their sister companies.
A once great company has lost their reputation. Don’t let them give you that ‘we’re going to make a one time exception’ about giving you your money back. Demand a refund.
Should have read reviews first
On 04/02 after finding bulbs and bare roots in catalog, I ordered online. On 04/07 went online to check status and look for details on the bare roots; they are now showing as sold out. Sent email requesting a status update and should I order elsewhere or cancel order and refund my money.
No reply; so, on 4/10 sent email advising that I was canceling order and demand refund back to credit card.
No reply; so on 4/11 filed dispute with credit card company for a refund.
Should have reviewed reviews before ordering and saved myself this aggravation.
