Delayed order fulfilment and faulty PC
Delayed order fulfilment and the PC was dispatched with a faulty cooling fan, and it sounded like it would grenade within a few minutes of use. Very difficult to sort out the return. This is a shame, as I have used them extensively in the past and was very pleased with the service and products. I would not now recommend them as a supplier.

Hi Robert, After reviewing your case, I can see that your order was actually dispatched on time — it was placed on a Saturday and dispatched two days later, with delivery made promptly thereafter. The issue arose during the return process.
Your initial contact was made with our Technical Support team, who handle troubleshooting and diagnostics only. As they don’t process returns, the request took a little longer to resolve. Once your enquiry was passed to our Sales team, they arranged the return within the same day.
I completely understand how frustrating this must have been, especially given your long history with us. While the delay was due to the return request being directed to the wrong department, I sincerely apologise for any confusion and inconvenience caused.
We’re also sorry that the unit did not meet expectations. Once it’s received back, it will be fully inspected to confirm the fault and ensure the issue is properly addressed.
We truly appreciate your past support and hope we can restore your confidence in our service.

A very fast, user-friendly experience.
Stone Refurb's ordering system on their website was very easy to use, and very clear and simple. The price was also very reasonable.
Delivery was very fast (quicker than expected) and the quality of the product thus far seems great with no issues.
I would highly recommend them, and I would certainly use them again, simply because I want a hassle-free experience, for a decent price and to have trust in the quality of the products/service, and Stone Refurb easily tick all those boxes for me.

Easy to use website
Easy to use website. Found a great PC and a laptop at an excellent price. I chose 'open box' and 'Grade A' machines which were delivered safely and were virtually 'as new'. Machines were delivered with a fresh installation of Windows 11 Pro and ran perfectly. So far very impressed and would recommend.

Refurbished Grade Descriptions Might Be Misleading
I bought a Grade B laptop. This laptop has a 20-cm-long scratch, horizontally across the centre of the screen. The scratch is obvious when the laptop is off and still slightly visible in use.
According to the website, for a Grade B laptop: "the screen may have barely noticeable marks that are not visible when in use".
Even for a Grade C laptop, "screens may have marks up to 2cm in size that are not visible during use".
The mark on the laptop I bought is much bigger than this.
I appreciate that this is a refurbished computer priced very cheaply compared with new. However, I do think the grading descriptions on the website should be made more truthful/realistic, to avoid customer disappointment.

Our grading information, including screen condition for Grade B and Grade C laptops, is clearly specified on the website. If you still feel that the laptop you received does not match the stated grading, please get in touch and provide a photo of the scratch. Once we receive this, we can assess the situation and advise on the appropriate next steps.
Battery Failure - NO WARRANTY COVER
Battery in the screen and base apparently died at the same time. The helpline advised that there's nothing they could do but could investigate further...at a significant cost.
This was a Christmas present for my son, which we saved up for. He's so diassapointed that this £350 Laptop only lasted 4 months and was in tears when we said we can't afford to fix it....if it is fixable.
I would strongly recommend going that bit extra and buy new. As the warranty we thought we had is not worth the paper it's written on.
So very disappointing 😞

All I can say is Wow. Ordered on the Friday afternoon and arrived Tuesday morning. Great pc, working well, ordered a B grade machine but tbh I can't fault it looks like new.

A recommendation in vain
The laptop I bought was faulty as it was not set up for Wi-Fi. The help desk were unable to resolve the matter remotely, needing the laptop to be returned. Collection was arranged via a courier company (DPD). They failed to collect on 2 occasions and were very unhelpful. Their failure to collect caused a lot of inconvenience due to me having to spend 2 days waiting for them to arrive. As such I requested a full refund. Quality control at the factory is poor, as the laptop should have been checked before being delivered. Help desk and returns staff were courteous and did their best.
Stone Refurb was recommended by a friend, I will not be recommending them myself.

Upon review, we can confirm that you first contacted our technical support team regarding the fault with the unit, which was unable to connect to Wi-Fi. As all of our refurbished units come with warranty, we immediately arranged a return-to-base collection for you.
Unfortunately, the collections arranged through our courier partner, DPD, did not go as planned. On one occasion their system recorded the collection as refused at the door, and on another they reported no one was available at the property. We appreciate that this did not reflect your own experience and caused unnecessary disruption.
After you requested a full refund, we arranged another collection. This time DPD successfully collected the unit, it was returned to us, and we processed your refund in full.
While we acted promptly on our side, the repeated collection failures were entirely down to DPD. As courier services are managed externally, we unfortunately have no direct control over their operations. That said, we will be raising this matter with them to help prevent similar issues in the future.
We understand that Stone Refurb was recommended to you by a friend and are sorry that your experience has left you dissatisfied. We are pleased that you found our help desk and returns staff courteous throughout, and we greatly appreciate the patience you showed while we worked to resolve the matter.

Receiving an expected parcel is not…
Receiving an expected parcel is not what I’d call a great experience. A great experience was climbing Kilimanjaro, or scuba diving in the Red Sea off Port Sudan on the Sanganeb reef where Jacque Coustou did his underwater living experiments. However, with that out of the way, my computer arrived on time and in good order, and is so far working well. Not a great experience, but a satisfactory one.

Refurbished Laptop - Grade C
I was looking for a refurbished laptop and decided to take the plunge with a grade C. I had read the information on Stone Refurb so was expecting something that was clearly well used. When the parcel arrived 2 days (I hadn't paid extra for delivery) after ordering I opened it to discover a laptop that is almost box fresh. The keyboard and trackpad are perfect with no signs of use, the screen is as good as new and there are only a couple of very small marks on the body of the laptop if you look very very closely. Everything works as expected, really happy with the service and the product. Definitely value for money, if you are thinking about using I would recommend.
