The Money Breakdown:
• Massive Cuts: They take nearly 50%.
(Example: You earn $188, you only keep $96).
• Hidden Client Fees: They charge your clients random fees without telling you.
• Unfair Charges: They charge you "new client fees" even for your own loyal clients.
• Double-Dipping: You pay transaction fees
PLUS an extra fee for same-day cash out.
The Client & Service Nightmares:
• Useless Support: Customer service is just outdated Al, you will never get a human. They claim to help within 24 hours, but they never actually respond or get back to you. Just send you screenshots of old pictures, that may or may not look like your screen.
• Booking Barriers: The system forces every client to create a full profile just to book an appointment.
• Payment Traps: Even if you manually add a client yourself, the system still forces them to make a profile just to pay their bill.
The Reality Check:
• Fake "Instant" Pay: Even after paying for same-day cash out, you still have to wait 4 hours for your money.
• Zero Support: You still do 100% of the marketing and "footwork" yourself.
• Low Lead Value: If they actually send you a client, you walk away with even less than $96.
Bottom Line: It feels like you are working for them, not yourself. Do your research and keep running!

If I could I would give a 0. I find a stylist and made my appointment paid my $40 deposit. A few hours later the stylist text me telling me that she is out of town and will be just getting back in town that day. Stylist state that she don't understand why that day was open. I don't know if it is the stylist or style seat problem. This but me in a bad spot no deposit and no one to do my hair. Will I am going out of town myself and trying to get my hair done before I go. So, the date I chose is the date I have available to get my hair done. The date that was suggested for me to reschedule to is the day I will be out of town. Now I am stuck with no appointment and out of $40. The stylist said she will refund me but that will take 5 to 10 days. To schedule another appointment I need my deposit. This is not the first time I have had a problem with style seat.
About 3 mounts ago I schedule appointment. The stylist was 20 minutes late. I am call and text her asking where she at. After about 3 calls and texts later. She answer saying she is on her way and that she was not aware of my appointment. WOW
With that being said. I will not be scheduling or choosing any more appointments or stylist on Style seat.

The new total is not listed or visible anywhere. Then it adds an additional 20% tip. That's a total of a 44% upcharge for their service.

I would like to be able to add more than one payment method for instant payouts, and be able to receive any payout amount, other than up to $50. Please, stop taking new clients fees over and over when a client has booked before, or prefer to have me book them. We pay a monthly fee for a reason.

They quoted me $75 for a blowout at a particular salon nearby. I then made the appointment (24 hrs so no cancellation possibility) and then it shot up to $108!! Including the tip. I don't tip owners of salons (and in this case she is the owner). So....yeah no.

Pro-tip, find the stylist using their app, message, then do everything off the app. Some stylists scam and steal and their platform offers no protections for consumers. A stylist didn't communicate her address before the appointment. I was still charged full price and 40 emails later still not conclusion except a return of half my money.
Update, received this reply, and after emailing them they havent responded. They also still have not returned my money.

I like my style seat stylist but I was paying too much for unexpected fees that it outweight her work. The site would be much better if they got rid of all the extra fees.

Yes, it’s drawn a lot of attention but there’s so many glitches in the app that I can’t even respond to the clients so I’m losing clients just as fast as I’m getting them

If I could give 0 stars I would! Horrible customer service! They will not pay you! It has been times where it will say I was paid out and money doesn't hit my account!! I decided to cancel my membership so they flagged my account as fraud and refuses to pay me!! They already charge mad fees and they still choose to steal!! That is insane!!

I used it to book a new stylist. Poor customer service, horrible. Acuity is better!
They cancelled my appointment after I rebooked it AND after they sent me a text confirming I rebooked it.
I checked the app, and the appt was cancelled, so I reached out to customer service and let them know. I then rebooked the service because I did not want to lose the spot and reached out again to customer service bc I had to pay another booking fee!!! That's TWO for one appointment bc THEY cancelled it.
Customer service then told me they cant refund my initial booking fee bc its not refundable and I cancelled. I did NOT cancel, Styleseat did.
I am left to reach out to a stylist I have never met to get a refund. This is horrible and unfair that I have to try to get my own refund.
The mobile web experience is also horrible. messages dont send to stylists, so i have to go on the desktop web to send messages
poor experience and customer service just copies and pastes the same message. they didnt even offer to reach out to this stylist on my behalf even thought their system was the issue.

Rip off.
6 leads and bookings in 2 weeks on alt sites. ZERO LEADS from Styleseat in 45+ days & they took $51 of my money.
Paid subscription fee to initiate the service & for the first 2 weeks my profile- while filled out properly, was not visible unless directly searched for by name. Reached out to their "tech support" which is 1-2 people sitting in an office and taking 24+ hours to repond to simple requests.
After supposedly resolving the inability to be found in search, this continued until I decided 45+ days in with 0 leads was not worth it & they want to tell me about "higher ratings." NO, ZERO leads or "new client connections" = BS but I have been getting clients for FREE on Google??? My profile was likely STILL not visible after they supposedly resolved it & NEVER comped me for it as I had requested INITIALLY.
I requested cancellation & they removed my profile more than a week+ before renewal was up- because they are THEIFS & SCAMMERS. So you are keeping the FULL cost of the month- but not refunding any parts of my money while deleting my profile completely- BEFORE then??? YES this means they are ABSOLUTELY SCAMMERS.
Subscribers cannot just cancel & remove their credit card information from their website- which should be ILLEGAL. They make it ridiculously difficult to cancel by forcing you to complete a SURVEY asking why you're cancelling; Because Styleseat is trash, overpriced and nobody uses it anymore & they also often have issues taking money from stylists and/or overcharging them AND clients often- AS YOU CAN SEE. Then they want to email you back-and-forth afterwards trying to get you NOT to cancel like SCAMMERS do.
Their raggedy website has been on the decline since 2018 due to unscrupulous business practices apparently now that I got word on it. They will NEVER have to worry about me ever recommending or using their crappy lack of service & no-client having booking site again.
2/13/2026: StyleSeat replied with the same BS they said when they refused to refund my money. They're only responding here because I filed a BBB complaint and they still REFUSED with cut and paste responses. Don't post a response like you're interested in resolving the issue because you made it very clear you're not. Of course you can't find a profile, it's deactivated & I requested that it be deleted- if you actually read my review, you would know that.
What purpose would going through all these additional steps be for?I have wasted enough time with you all and it cost ME. I have no intention of using your services ever again... You had a whole MONTH to resolve this before complaints & reviews were filed. You want to help me out? Process my refund like I ASKED for instead of pretending to actually care. Everything is outlined of why a refund is due but you want to fight and fake like you care. I have no interest in doing any more business with you, so if you're not going to refund me shut up talking to me.
You can refer to Better Business Bureau case #24425118 Since you can't find a deactivated profile in which you wouldn't be able to no way, to refund my money.
3/1/2026 and in case anyone was concerned or wondering… They never reached back out to me about this- after putting the info out there for anyone to see... so there's your proof they're only responding to save face.

StyleSeat is a great tool for attracting new clients, but the fees are absolutely outrageous. There’s membership fees, transaction fees, and new client fees. They also up charge the clients for “premium spots” without the stylist’s permission and then take a large portion of the profit.

I had an issue with StyleSeat. I have been using StyleSeat for years. However, this time I made an appointment with my regular hairstylist. Due to a health issue, i couldn’t drive the distance to the Stylist salon. Therefore, I had to cancel the appointment. The appointment was canceled about three or so days before. The day of the appointment, my Stylist called me asking where was I? I informed her that I had canceled the appointment on StyleSeat. The Stylist informed me that the appointment was not canceled, and I told her I canceled it on StyleSeat I don’t know why the cancellation didn’t to register. I’ve contacted StyleSeat and the Stylist to discuss the technological issue with my cancellation. I was charged $80 fee. I contacted StyleSeat for a refund. However, they have just only written me back-and-forth , back-and-forth through emails, but never have offered a refund of the $80 nor have they acknowledge that the system had technical issues. For that reason I will not I use StyleSeat again. I still want an $80 refund. This has also impacted my relationship with my Hair Stylist. Because she thought I messed her appointment bookings up and she could’ve earned money.For that I am sorry. but historically speaking I have never been a no-show. I have always canceled my appointments in advance.
