The update in the system is horrible…

The update in the system is horrible for nail techs. We have separate prices for nail art… with the update I can only add one nail art to the bill. It won’t let you add multiple of the same service. The automatic payment is annoying.. it goes through before the stylist can adjust the payment… even if the stylist has it turned off.
The system does not add correctly so you have to pay attention to what you’re charging and make sure the system added it correctly or you’ll short yourself.
They don’t have text marketing.
They money grab and take money from the artists by quick claiming people who are already on the site looking for a stylist and try to say they solicited the client for you. Not true…

Haven’t had the time to switch but leaving StyleSeat ASAP. When I do posting it so other techs I know will never use it. Been unhappy with the service for a few years now.

I've been with styleseat for about 9…

I've been with styleseat for about 9 years. I was a top pro until it was required for me to allow styleseat to headhunte clients with a fee to stay on the search engine. Luckily I have a steady clientele. Also my clients tell me that they are referred to other stylist in the area while booking appointments with me. I was told by rep that it was healthy competition. I would understand of the app was free but im paying you to direct my clients to other stylists that need your headhunter services. Other than that I'm
pleased with the Convenience and upgrades to app.

I've been with styleseat for so many…

I've been with styleseat for so many years and I stay because of all of the features. Some of the fees are insane and they need to improve that however, it is very reliable and I make a lot of additional funds because of their systems

If you ever notice one of your clients is mistakenly marked as a new client from StyleSeat, please click the link in the appointment details that says "new client from StyleSeat" and then choose "Request a Correction". Our Support team is always happy to help rectify these situations!

You can also help prevent this from happening by ensuring your clients are visiting your profile via your direct booking link and adding their information to your client list before they book.

Additionally, since you're on our Premium Plan, you have the flexibility to opt out of New Client Connection in your settings at any time if you don't feel this feature is right for you.

I hate that I get penalized if my clients decide to pay in cash, I alway miss new clients requests and get penalized, I really want to try a new booking site

Since you're on our Premium Plan, there is no penalty for having clients pay in cash on regular appointments. Please be aware that clients are required to pay through StyleSeat for growth feature appointments (such as New Client Connection or Smart Pricing).

We do require that you either accept or decline New Client Connection appointments within 24 hours. This rule is in place to help protect the client experience. It could be much better!!

I have been using styleseat for many years. I love the fact you can schedule or people can book through the app. However, I don't like that when you book a service you have to scroll through all of the services you have and if you miss it you have to start over and over till you find it. Secondly, it is very expensive when you look at the over all expenses. I was paying $35 a month but they still take a percentage when the client pays. Then they take upto 50% of a new client. (Who normally doesn't come back). Usually clients like that have a stylist or they are from out of town and/or they rarely come to the salon. Then they take money for the client to book. They say they advertise but you might get 1 new client every 2 month and my experience they usually cancel before they come. Which leaves a big gap in your schedule. Then you are short of funds however., they do offer deposits now if you are paying monthly. ( small revision after this was posted they did update the service where you can now type the service you want and now it pop up at the top.)

The $35 monthly Premium Plan subscription cost covers the basic tools that help you run your business, such as scheduling, payment processing, notifications, no-show protection, and flexible checkout. Separate from the basic tools are StyleSeat's growth features such as New Client Connection and Smart Pricing. When StyleSeat sends you a new client, there is a one-time 30% fee on their first appointment with you (up to a maximum of $50 for Pros on our Premium Plan).

When you check a client out through StyleSeat, there is a 2.75% payment processing fee for each transaction. The processing fee is the industry standard for merchant processing and covers the credit card processing fees associated with processing your clients’ appointment payments. Please be aware, Premium Plan Pros can also use cash or other payment methods during checkout and there would not be a processing fee.

My review about styleseat

The reminders are good. I’ve lost a couple of handful of customers, because of the new booking fee that isn’t returned to the client that I don’t receive. Don’t like the booking fee, the percentage that you make every transaction and the fee keeps going up to keep styleseat. I’ve really been considering leaving and going to another booking app that I see my other coworkers use with less fees and more new clients. Plus to get customer support from yall sometimes is a big hassle.

In the event that you cancel their appointment, the booking fee will be refunded to your client. Additionally, if they reschedule an appointment, they will not be charged another booking fee.

I love it

I love it. The only thing I don’t like is all the hidden fees on top of the monthly fee. I’m getting charged, my clients getting charged, half the time I don’t even know.

This is by far one of the worst booking…

This is by far one of the worst booking apps for industry professionals to use. They throw people on your book without giving you an opportunity to confirm appointments. Clients are constantly upset with me and leaving me bad reviews due to StyleSeat “rules and regulations” that I have no control over. StyleSeat offers business owners very little autonomy. There are constant penalties and fees. They charge you 30% new client fee on clients they didn’t find. They don’t have consistent policy and procedures. Some client appointments they ask you to approve, others l they don’t and they don’t explain why. If you decline an appointment they penalize your business. They lead clients to believe they have an appointment without confirmation from the stylist. They don’t account for client changes or emergencies and they penalize the stylist. You can’t accept cash payments. They don’t resolve issues or problems within their app and payment systems. They send you generic responses and solutions, when you explain those answers don’t resolve your issue they completely stop communicating with you. When a clients payment is declined they penalize the stylist. A lot of clients payments to reserve the appointment are invalid. You aren’t able to send clients links in their messaging portion of the app. They don’t let you reach out to clients to ask questions about services, especially if you see they potentially booked incorrectly and will potentially need to reschedule or cancel. Only clients are allowed to ask you questions through the app, stylists aren’t allowed to start conversations with clients. It’s just terrible for a business owner. They come off 60% unethical in my opinion….the lack of consistency is a huge red flag for me.

To request a correction, simply click the link in the appointment details that says "New Client from StyleSeat" and then choose "request a correction". Our Support team is always happy to help in these situations! You can also help prevent this from happening in the future by making sure your client navigates to your booking page using the direct link that was shared with them via text from you or on your personal website.

Canceling last minute on a new client we sent you can create a bad experience for first-time clients and deter them from booking with you in the future. We understand that canceling an appointment last minute is not always in your control, but when this is a repeated behavior it may impact your search ranking.

We understand your desire to take payments in cash. Currently, the option to check out appointments as cash is only available on our Premium Plan. If your client's card declined when you attempted the no-show or late cancellation fee, that means your client passed the authorization charge we issue in order to verify the card is valid but that our payments processor declined the charge for the full amount of the service. In these situations, we recommend reaching out to the client directly to attempt to collect the payment. You can also block the client to prevent them from booking with you in the future.

I like the new client connection and…

I like the new client connection and not having to search or market for clients. I just wish there was a better way to verify clients who are not new and have booked with the same number and new account creation.

Whenever I have an issue it takes over…

Whenever I have an issue it takes over a week to get a response from customer service. A booking fee is hidden and charged to my clients. Unfortunately, I have used styleseat for so long that it is difficult to switch my business.
