Synovus Avis 

Having banked with Synovus for nearly three decades, I experienced fraud on my account for the first time ever this autumn. I immediately notified the bank by way of their Secure Messaging where a representative responded swiftly, stating my debit card (and card profile) would be closed per my request and disputes of the over $100 in LYFT transactions would be filed on my behalf. Some time later I received four letters where Synovus stated their investigation provided proof the transactions were authorized by me. This is an absolute impossibility so I asked for proof of their research and findings for which I got zero response or explanation.

It is sad to think that my bank failed to review my history with them, my spending habits, etc. to easily recognize these transactions were not mine. It is especially sad knowing other financial institutions go out of their way to protect their clients and communicate in a clear and transparent nature.

As a long-time customer, I assure you I will no longer recommend this bank to anyone who uses debit or credit cards and I will begin moving my business to my other banks as soon as possible.

Please stay away from that bank customer service is horrible credit card department another worse one. I am looking to find another small bank that know how to deal with customer synovus need to shut down bad bank to do business

Everything is a total chore when dealing with them- will probably change banks due to the lack of individual customer care- called to get an officer statement about my account for the government and Synovous told me the gov would have to call them and jump thru all kinds of hoops---the government aint gonna change their protocol for a bank. Everytime I have contacted them for something simple it is a total circus of events--find another bank

Do not get a credit card with them! I got a business card with them in 2021and they told me the interest rate after the 0% would be 11.5. Today, it is well over 25%. I have what is consider excellent credit. Do not do business with them.

Avoid Synovus Bank, especially the one in Fort Myers, FL. Ivan Miller, Banker and Gary Donabed, Manager neither one can follow through on their word. This bank cashed a check for over $600 and have lost the money. Here we are 6 weeks later and still no answers. I was to call Customer Service and CS says absolutely not, this is a Branch location problem, and I must work with Ivan and Gary. SMH.

Had a few questions and needed help with my account. Angie Lora not only helped set and reset everything up but did it all with professionalism and courtesy. She stayed with me on the phone until everything was set up correctly and working perfectly (most times the representatives just leave you and you hope for the best). Great to see someone care and help like this. Good old fashion caring.

Horrible service! They are either ignorant or liars, I've had to correct multiple employees(including managers) on a regular bases of different issues. Example is when a gas station puts a hold on your card but as soon as you complete the transaction they let the bank know what you spent and it can release the remainder balance oh the hold. Synovus will keep the hold for days and randomly. Manager tried saying it was all on the gas station but yet only happens with synovus out of the 14 banks I use... Crazy how the gas stations pick on synovus... Plus they charge you to have an account but also charge someone to cash a check from you. They will charge you almost $40 over draft charge if you go over by even one cent. Go anywhere but here. Always take forever to get even the basic tasks done in person. Don't bother calling, you'll be on the phone forever to get even get a simple task done and won't be your local bank. Just another uncaring robotic person reading a screen.

This is the worse bank in America. Very greedy and inconsiderate of their customers. High fees with poor service.
Also, If you have an checking account with them, and you write someone a check, they charge that person to cash it. So, they charge the account holder fees AND they charge the person cashing the check... just plain greedy!!! Stay away!

This place is horrible!! Don't keep your money in this bank. They will ruin you, your life, your finances. All the while charging you a fee, smiling and dictating when, where and how you control your money. There is no reason to keep abusing your selves like I and many others have done for years. Take your money to Englewood Bank and Trust, Bank of America or as much as I hate to say it Wells Fargo. As it's much, much more reputable than this place. Banked here for years. Out of Convenience.. don't make the same mistake. Your money deserves better and so do you!!

Synovus blatantly tries to damage my credit report by falsely reporting a perfectly paid on time personal loan as a charge off and will not do a thing to correct it. Rachel Travis is supposed to be the point of contact and will not return calls.

Synovus was able to get me to close on a new home purchase in less than 30 days. Their mortgage department is top-notch and I give them my highest recommendation. They have a user-friendly, secure document center to electronically upload financial documents. They also offered a very competitive mortgage rate.
