Teak Bench Company

I ordered a 4 seater lutyens bench. Delivered quickly. Fairly priced. My daddy is a joiner and is incredibly fussy about wooden products, joints, quality etc. He was so impressed! I absolutely love it. Going to order another one for the front of the house.

The service, quality of item purchased and the courtesy and professionalism were outstanding. A very reasonable price on- line. A very high recommendation indeed!

Lack of information and update on deliveries after order in June, promise to deliver in July by transporter never completed while item said to be in stock, delivery end of September now summer is over! Many excuses from company owner about transporter issues but when you have people prepaying before you order the goods, service should be tip top...

2 years on and we are still delighted with our 8 seat garden dining set.
We are looking forward to many more years of dining al fresco.

Having bought Lutyens benches last year and this, and two sun-loungers recently, I can vouch that their quality is excellent, but it hasn't been the easiest process. Richard is a good guy, but has had problems with couriers delivering to our corner of Essex. Now resolved, I am very happy with the purchases.

Absolutely delighted with the product and the very efficient delivery and communication with Richard. We ordered the 8 seater Dover table and chair set. The quality of the teak furniture is outstanding, very pleased with it. The personal delivery by Richard himself was impressive, he said he’d be with us about 1 ish, and arrived dead on 1 o clock! Thank you Richard for your good service and for supplying a great piece of furniture for our garden.

Worst experience ever - I would not advise ordering from this company. I ordered a bench for £200 that I never received nor have been refunded for. I spoke many times to a very polite and apologetic person called Richard however so many false promises given. Promises that the bench was en route, to promises that I'd receive a refund along with the bench eventually. He told me he had actually processed the refund yet it never came despite chasing so many times in writing. Unbelievably poor really. Every promise broken with me giving up in the end. Absolutely dreadful service.

I saw this bench at Tatton Flower Show, and was delighted to find it at the Teak Bench Company. The price was surprisingly low and the quality is excellent. From first ordering my bench, to it being delivered, and assembled, the customer service has been fantastic. I am so happy with my beautiful bench and can’t recommend the Teak Bench Company highly enough! Thanks a million.

I ordered a bench with a stated delivery time of 5-7 working days. After 2 weeks, and for the following 8 weeks, I rang the proprietor every few days to query the status of my order. I think we had a total of around 10-12 conversations (always me calling him). First he blamed the couriers, who were letting him down. Next, he said he was sourcing new couriers and they were taking a while to catch up, but my bench was with the new couriers. Next he told me he was doing deliveries himself and would deliver my bench personally on a given day. That day came & went. No sign. That happened twice. After 9 weeks, I finally rang him to say that I wished to cancel my order and was regretfully requesting a refund. The proprietor was apologetic and told me that he would refund me my payment that same day and that he would also send me a free bench for my trouble (wow!). I watched my credit card transactions, but, after a further week, he had not refunded my money. Of course, no bench had arrived either, free or otherwise. I called again. He answered from his mobile and said he was out doing deliveries (why not MY delivery?) and could I e-mail him AGAIN to 'remind' him to do the refund that evening when he got back. This I rather grudgingly did. Still no refund. No reply. No call. No bench. Today, more than a week later, I put the matter in the hands of my credit card provider's Dispute section. I wish them better luck in dealing with the Teak Bench Company.

What a brilliant service from Richard’s company. From order to delivery only 72 hours! Honestly, such a hardworking and genuine young man. I would massively recommend this company, product beautiful too! I’m very, very happy indeed.

Disappointing
Ordering is fine and straight forward. Nice automated correspondence telling you the order is dispatched and then absolutely nothing happens. Tried chasing up with the courier company directly and again no response.
Phoned Richard many times and was continually told he will chase up and call back - however nothing. I finally got frustrated and requested a refund.

Since writing this review, Richard called to sincerely apologise and explained the logistical challenges he has been experiencing. He offered to send a bench free of charge, which i explained was not necessary.

Excellent from order to delivery! Would not hesitate to order from this company again! Richard was so friendly and delivered our order within 5 days which we could not believe! He called us 30 minutes before arriving! The garden set we ordered was packaged really well!

Lovely bench. Took a little while for delivery but after some phone calls and queries as to where it was, it was delivered. Item is worth 5 stars just a shame the delivery time knocked it down a bit!

In this modern age you would be hard pushed to find such a decent, customer satisfaction focused family business such as this.
At every stage of our purchase from phoning late on a Sunday afternoon where we were greeted enthusiastically , to all assistance and order updates received pending delivery, to finally having our garden furniture delivered not just to our front door but carried right into our garden , with the further plus that all packaging materials were happily removed on completion. Friendly, focused, efficient and a pleasure to deal with - buy here for great , well priced and superior products delivered with a smile !

Beautiful bench I’ve wanted one for years. Took a bit of time to arrive because the courier which no longer have the contract proved unreliable. The owner of the company drove hundreds of miles to ensure it was delivered in perfect condition.

Be very aware if you do not live in North of England you may not receive your garden furniture within the time frame advertised. Having waited for five weeks it became very apparent that my bench was not going to be delivered when I expected. There were many unfulfilled promises of delivery dates by Richard with various explanations of difficulties with couriers. Have now had a refund but was very disappointed and frustrated with lack of service.

Our 6-seater table and chairs, with the free cushion pads arrived late yesterday afternoon. Richard phoned 1 hour before to say he was on his way. Richard set about assemblying the table and gave us care instructions and options. The table and chairs are very good quality and well made. Lovely guy and friendly service. Would definitely buy from here again. Thank you

My Luytens bench arrived today and I couldn't be more pleased. It is a sturdy bench well made from sustainable teak and looks beautiful and I'm sure will look good for many years to come. I would not hesitate to purchase through the Teak Bench Company again and would highly recommend them. Thank you Richard.
