Awful company , don't even mount the photos for you then their excuse is we'll not everyone wants to use them - well sorry I didn't order them for the good of my health
Woman on phone very rude says nobody ever complains. Lol these reviews would suggest otherwise!

I feel very coerced
I feel very coerced. The photos cannot be selected by size etc, only ordered as packages which means not getting the prints I want for different family members. There is some reference to digital downloads but no way to order them. The chat assistant keeps getting stuck in a loop and has only generic answers regardless of the question typed.

Must be the worst website ever to…
Must be the worst website ever to navigate. Tried to order grandkids pics on mobile. Didn't work. Went on PC and took 15+ minutes to get sorted. Worst website I've used for many years. Nothing is logical and most things do not work. Why do schools use people like this if they can't even be bothered to sort the order process out properly? Utterly inept.

More rubbish edited and filtered photos
Year on year you continue to apply filters to the terrible school photos you take of my child. Every year I ask myself how you manage it?
You do understand that I know what my child looks like and love him don’t you? I don’t want and will not buy edited photos of the child you seem to think I should have.
It’s a very odd business model but I can categorically state my child does not look like an old man in ginger wig and yet somehow that’s the photo you have asked me to buy this year.
Children’s photos should not and do not need to be edited, take a decent photo in the first place and you also wouldn’t feel the need.

Good quality this year, but pricing way too high
The photos this year were great quality, I'm really pleased with how they came out. The only thing I marked them down on was because of the price. It seems cheaper to buy the packages with so many different photos attached.
I now have two children at the same school, they offer a family package. But this package you can only add two photos, so I included the individual photos of each child. This alone cost £37.00. Then for the photo of my two children together it was a further £9.00, so in total £46.00!! This is way too much, Tempest really need to review their pricing structure or at least include a family package that includes a print of each child and a print of their photo together

I cannot believe the extortionate prices you charge, shame on you! Then to add to that you then charge £5 delivery! Why not offer free collection from school, that would be more morally correct?

Poor to average
Bang average photo. Expensive for random sized photos and multipacks. Clearly play on parents sentimentality to push an expensive and low quality product. The company has a monopoly which allows them to get away with it.

Not the best
If I could only give no starts than I would. Photos are poor quality and photographers taking school photos clearly dont care how the image will look like, they just click, click. My child is in year 9 so she had some photos taken during her school years and only one photo was acceptable out of all those though the years. I wouldn't write this review but sadly I had some web issues this time and had to contact customer service, one of the worst one ever, not to mention it took me over half hour to get connected, a customer service member treated me like at least mentally disabled person ( no offence please ) , I was telling her the error message I get on the website when I try see school photos , she tells me she cant help me and I should try website, after clarifying with her I am unable to do so because of the error message, she navigates me step by step how to enter reference number still not listening the issue. I decided to pass on those photos this year, shame because those are always some kind of memories even though poor quality and well overpriced ,but I really don't understand this kind of approach.

Good variety of options for me to choose from. I thought the price of the selections was pretty fair and I had a few options to choose from. Have just placed my order so I’m hoping that they deliver soon but otherwise I’m very satisfied with them.

I'm surprised they invite reviews!
I'm surprised they invite people to rate them here! As others say, photo packages with unhelpful sizes and quantities designed to extract the maximum cash and upsell you to packs with things you don't need.
You can't readily opt out of their cookies either.
Their address database is old, and the manual entry is clunky.
Is there anything to like?
I'll give them an extra star for at least accepting Apple Pay.
I wish our school didn't use them.

Shocking photos
Shocking photos, can’t believe school still use them.
My daughter wears glasses and they made her feel so uncomfortable in order to get no reflection from them. So expensive too

Very expensive
Very expensive, not the best photograph. A simple task for the photographer to straighten the tie. Cost leaves a bad taste in the mouth for sure. £23 for a digital download!!!! Prints are so expensive this is the most cost effective route, but then the extra hassle of sourcing prints from a 3rd party supplier. I understand the concept of a markup but this is rediculous!

I would give zero stars if I could. It baffles me that schools continue to use this shambles of a company.
The pricing is extortionate and the photos are awful. They rush through taking all the childrens photos without putting any care into it and they know they can rip off parents who feel obliged to buy the pictures of their beloved children each year as they grow. This company makes me feel physically sick to the stomach each and every year that I feel that I have to pay for the abhorrent service, god awful useless photographers with crappy equipment and such bad experiences for my kids but I just want my kids to see themselves grow. You suck tempest! Get a grip and stop ripping off parents. Worst photographers ever

A horrible accident fixed
We recently returned home from an awesome P&O cruise experience. Whilst on board we purchased a photo to remember our time away but sadly whilst traveling home the photo sleeve become damaged.
I reached out to Emily at Tempest and explained the situation. She went out of her way to speak to the team on the ship and got us sent out a replacement photo and sleeve.
We are both so grateful for her help and the quick turn around.

I genuinely feel sorry for the poor customer service representative — “Olly,” as he’s called — who’s been left to defend what is, quite frankly, indefensible. It’s not his fault, but he’s the unfortunate face of a system designed to squeeze every last penny out of parents under the guise of “memorable school photography.”
This company’s approach feels less like a service and more like an exercise in exploitation. Parents are expected to pay absurd prices for low-resolution, poorly produced images that barely qualify as keepsakes. It’s a shameful example of style over substance — or rather, profit over principle — where the actual quality of the product seems irrelevant compared to the mark-up.
What’s even more disappointing is that schools continue to engage with companies like this. By partnering with such providers, they unknowingly enable a business model that targets parents’ emotions and turns a simple school photo into an overpriced luxury. It’s not about capturing memories anymore — it’s about monetising them.
Calling it a “service” would be generous; it’s more of a sugar-coated money grab wrapped in glossy marketing. Perhaps the next time schools consider working with such firms, they should ask themselves whether they’re truly offering value to families — or just helping a company make a 1,000% profit from a batch of cheaply printed photos.

Total Rip-Off
Total Rip-Off. At my daughter’s previous school last year, a digital photo download (from Pret-a-Portrait), hi-res and suitable for printing, was less than £10. Therefore the £23 requested by Tempest is the very definition of a rip-off. There are no excuses they can make, it’s just price-gouging from parents who have no choice. I won’t be funding this company.

Still unable to download a digital copy…
Still unable to download a digital copy of the photo we've ordered and paid for. The website just keeps saying the image is not available yet, try again in a couple of days. Days later still not available, waited another few days, still not available. What on earth is going on. Emails ignored, and ridiculous prices for what we ordered. Very disappointing 0/5 stars.
