I booked a Major Service and MOT through the AA online with their authorised garage, VSG Hounslow, and had a very disappointing experience.

I was charged for a Major Service, but when I later took my car to another garage, they found that the engine oil had not been changed, and the service had not been carried out properly. My car also failed the MOT at VSG Hounslow, even though it was in good condition.

I reported my concerns to the AA, but my complaint was sent back to the same garage. Instead of properly investigating, the garage told me that because I had booked through the AA online, they would not provide the same level of service as if I had booked directly with them. I found this unacceptable.

A few days later, I took my car to another independent garage. They carried out a proper major service, completed the MOT, and my vehicle passed with no issues.

I expected the AA to protect its customers and investigate my complaint independently. Instead, I feel my concerns were not taken seriously. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend using VSG Hounslow through the AA.

Engineer arrived on time. Very personable young man. Did a thorough inspection and explained his report to me thoroughly. Very pleased with service, reasonably priced and the added bonus of not having to drop car off was great. Will use again.

Since this was a mobile service didnt have MOT done at the same time but it passed MOT next day at a different garage so all good.

Five stars for the garage, whose service was excellent. However, AA Smart Care failed to relay the message to me that I had to wait a day for the delivery of an essential part for my car to pass the MOT. Smart Care then told me the car was ready for collection the day after I had already got it back.

The mobile mechanic was extremely helpful, friendly and polite, going out of his way to help get our car back on the road. I was extremely grateful

Major service seemed fine, mechanic friendly. I was told and given a report that all was okay with the vehicle. A few days later I had broken down, and had to pay an AA mobile mechanic to fit a new alternator and also a new battery. I've spent over £500 and had to take a day off work for a car I was told had nothing wrong with it.

Great price/discount. But very confusing comms as I needed a MOT retest and received various automated emails, i.e. too many and some of which were completely inaccurate re the test date and time. Also my account was debited, credited, debited again - and the money was first taken before the test date!

It is wasting a time and money after I spend 450 went home I see on dashboard Visible warning lights include an illuminated red oil pressure light which is I have never seen on dashboard since I bought my car almost 4years I had to Email to the smart care department but no body responded to me
