Thank you for your feedback. Having reviewed your clear-out bag, we can confirm that credit was awarded for 9 items. The remaining 7 items were correctly classified for recycling due to visible dirt, damage, and in one case, a hole. As outlined clearly in our FAQs and terms, we are unable to offer credit for items that do not meet our accepted condition standards.

We responded directly to your email before this review was posted and provided photos and a detailed explanation of our assessment. We are always happy to discuss decisions further, but the outcome in this case is consistent with our published guidelines.

With regards to turnaround times, we have already reduced processing from over 12 weeks to approximately 6 weeks, including for your order, and we continue to improve this further.

We appreciate that sending items in takes time and effort, which is exactly why we are continuing to make our acceptance criteria even clearer. In the past week, we introduced an additional confirmation step requiring customers to acknowledge our terms and accepted item standards before sending their bags. This is designed to reduce misunderstandings and ensure expectations are clear from the outset.

We value all feedback, but it is important to clarify that items which arrive stained, damaged or unsellable cannot be credited, regardless of the effort involved in sending them. We do, however, appreciate your support of the circular and environmental goals behind our service.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — I’m sorry to hear you felt let down by the clear‑out process; that’s never what we want, especially when you’ve taken the time to send in items you believed would be suitable.

As we have discussed on email - we do aim to be as transparent as possible about how our pricing works, including the fact that we only pay for items that meet our selling criteria and fall within the brands we accept. This information is listed on our website and in the leaflet included with every bag, but I completely understand how disappointing it feels when fewer items are eligible than expected.

We have processed 3 out of your 4 bags & in your case, only a small number of pieces met our criteria for resale, which is why the credit awarded was lower than hoped. Anything we can’t sell is always donated to our charity partners or responsibly recycled, so nothing goes to waste.

We genuinely appreciate you giving the service a try, and while I’m sorry it didn’t meet your expectations this time, your feedback helps us keep improving how clearly we communicate the process.

Thank you for taking the time to share this — I’m sorry your clear out experience left you feeling disappointed. That’s absolutely not the outcome we want for anyone.

Your bag was mostly full of items from brands which we don’t sell. We make it extremely clear on our website and on the leaflet sent with the bags, which brands we do not accept or pay for. We also explain that items from non sellable brands will be donated to our charity partners or responsibly recycled, which is what has happened to your non-sellable items. We did award credit for an item that was sellable.

We appreciate you chose to send the items to us and while we understand that you are frustrated not to receive more payment we made every effort possible to make this clear upfront to avoid disappointment.

We’re very proud of the service we offer and are aware that our processing time has extended, because of the overwhelming support we have had for trade in & clear out; we are working very hard to reduce this time. The processing time is detailed on the email sent when your parcel arrives with us. We work hard to be transparent and manage expectations.

I rarely reply personally to reviews as my team are incredibly capable. However your review has left them distraught owing to its unfairness.

As we take all complaints extremely seriously I have personally reviewed not only your items, and the conditions which the team allocated to them, but also the emails they sent to you to explain. I can confirm that they were fair and measured with both.

It is therefore disappointing that you have felt it appropriate to post this review.

We work incredibly hard not only to make our process fair, but also to make our quality control of the highest standard. I know that this has already been explained to you by email. But I feel it necessary to repeat it here:

Many of your items were soiled. One Jojo romper had poo stains inside. A beautiful muddy puddles scampsuit had food marks on the outside meaning it needs to be laundered (at cost to us). And other items had ingrained dirt around knees and bottoms. There were also scuffed feet, and the swimsuit you believe was unworn had wear to the print around the legs and bottom. One of our team thought this was mildew but when it was reviewed we now believe may have been caused by sand. Either way, it was not in brand new condition and had to be marked down accordingly.

You might not, understandably, have noticed these issues from a cursory inspection in your home. Which is exactly why buying on vinted is such a lottery. However we use bright inspection lamps to ensure that we do not sell substandard preloved items to our customers. These pick up less obvious stains and dirt as they are designed to do.

There is no benefit to us of judging items too harshly. You would have seen, had we listed your items for sale, that they would have been listed in the condition we credited you for. Better condition items make both you AND us more money so we would far rather receive items in perfect condition. I should add that despite the condition of many of your items you still earned £42 for 11 items…likely more than you’d have earned on Vinted.

We always own our mistakes. However we cannot apologise for something which is simply a case of our usual level of quality control. It is the hallmark of littleloop and is why our purchasing customers only ever give us 5* reviews.

Nb The other poor reviews recently given for clearout were for a completely different reason. Those individuals had failed to read the instructions and had sent bags full of brands we don’t sell. They were in beautiful condition and so were donated to our baby bank partner but the customers had expected to be paid for them when we cannot do so.
