Totter + Tumble Avis 

My playmat arrived in an extremely poor state; the delivery box was torn in half and badly ripped in multiple places. For an item at this price point, this was completely unacceptable.

Customer service acknowledged that the box was in poor condition and even stated that the courier should not have delivered it like this. However, beyond that acknowledgement, there was very little apology or sense of ownership for the issue. The tone of the responses felt procedural rather than customer-focused.

Despite the severity of the damage to the outer packaging, I was told no meaningful action could be taken unless the playmat itself was damaged. The mat is sealed in plastic and cannot be properly inspected without fully unravelling it, which their returns policy discourages, leaving me unable to confidently assess the product while still keeping the option to return it.

The only goodwill offered was a £10 partial refund, which felt wholly disproportionate given the value of the order and the condition it arrived in. Communication then stalled, and I had to follow up myself to close the matter.

While the mat appears fine from what is visible, the overall experience — particularly the lack of care, apology, and resolution from customer service — fell far below what I would expect from a brand positioning itself as premium.

I was left feeling disappointed and discouraged from contacting customer services again.

I bought this mat back in August and my toddler had an accident on it. The accident ran to the side of the mat and pooled underneath, causing my wood flooring to stain the mat. I followed the instructions on their website to clean it and got nowhere, so in the end I emailed them.

They emailed back very falsely concerned, trying to be seen as an authentic brand but very quickly reminded me that they had told me 3 times within the sales buying process that the mat is not stain free. I don’t remember this but they were quick to tell me. They then proceeded to just give me more instructions to clean it which I’d already done, and a third email basically told me my flooring isn’t compatible with the mat which is hilarious.

The mats aren’t made for toddlers, don’t let the marketing fool you, they have no interest to help you what so ever after that sale has been completed. I have had this mat for four months and it’s already ruined.

Fantastic product and great for little ones starting to explore. Had our playmat for a while now and will be ordering a 2nd shortly.

After much deliberation I ordered the standard size Odissi playmat. I also benefitted from their current promotion for registered subscribers. Delivery was easy and quick - it arrived within 2 days. I received clear communication from the courier and was able to easily leave It with my neighbour as I was out.

It looks completely fantastic in my room and matches the swatches and pictures I saw on the website. I really liked being able to order the swatch samples so I could see it properly before. I also really love the second side so it's win win.

My baby loves it already! It's so nice having having something that makes it easy to play with her while still looking nice in my living room.

Our family has bought 4 mats over the last 3 mths. Daughter had seen them at the playgroup she takes our granddaughter to.

Ordering- easy enough.
Delivery - no issues. DX Express within 48hrs with a text on the day of delivery giving a 2 hr time slot.

So we bought our first mat. It’s at our daughter’s house and is in the middle of the sitting room. Lovely pattern, so easy to clean and it’s at the centre of all things play.

So impressed with the quality that my mother, who is prone to falls, has bought 3 for her sitting room. She loves them and is looking to buy more. It’s given her ease of mind when walking round the house.

Let’s address the issue of price. Ok they aren’t cheap but they are double sided, have some lovely patterns, actually don’t look out of place, provide great shock absorption, are really easy to clean and feel nice to sit and play on.

It’s worth getting an anti-slip mesh to go under it ( £14 from Amazon) but you’d probably have to do that with most rugs.

So in summary look at these mats as an investment for your children (and in my case my elderly mother). They serve a purpose, keep small children safe, are really low maintenance, so much more hygienic than carpet and are lovely to play on with your children.

You wait from the end of July to the end of October, resisting the temptation to buy anything else.
It’s out of stock, The restock is experiencing a delay.. You write, you check, you refresh the page. You’re told it will be restocked soon so you wait some more.
In the meantime, you even create mock-ups of your living room, planning the entire layout around this one piece, because you trust the brand and want everything to be perfect.
After months of patience, it finally becomes available.
You add it to your cart immediately, ready to purchase after all this time
and that’s when you’re told they don’t ship to your area at all.
I live in Italy, and I mentioned it several times in my emails. The website clearly mentions an additional €20 fee for remote areas, so I naturally assumed there would be a solution (In case my area is considered remote.) not a complete refusal.
I even offered to pay more for the shipping, but there was no flexibility whatsoever.
It’s incredibly disappointing to be treated this way after months of waiting, planning, and communication.
A serious, customer-focused company should look for solutions, not simply close the door on a customer who waited for months

For months, I'd been looking for a stylish rug to use on my hard living room floor with my daughter, but couldn't find anything that was washable and aesthetically pleasing in our space. I discovered Totter + Tumble, and bought the company's XL Holbein playmat, and it's exactly what I'd been looking for. Easy to clean, stylish (with a double-sided design!) and safe for my baby to play on. We've had it for 3 months now, and never had any problems with its quality. Delivery was very quick, with no issues. We love the playmat!

I’m so happy with our playmats. They look wonderful in our small flat and have created such a lovely space for us all to hang out and play as a family. A big investment for sure but we don’t regret it, hopefully they will last for years.

I am so glad that I purchased one of these mats before my daughter was born. It has been one of the most useful items on my baby list and I can see us getting years of use from it.

We have hard wood floors so it’s a fantastic surface for baby to practise tummy time and learn to move around. It’s comfortable to sit on at babies level for playtime and we’ve had tons of compliments on it from visitors. I love the Morris and Co designs and even better that they are double sided!

Wow! I don’t usually write reviews but the Morris & Co playmat is absolutely stunning! I love how there are two designs so I can easily flip it over if I fancy a change. It’s been ridiculously easy to keep clean and is so soft under my feet. Can’t wait to get another for our kitchen! I 100% recommend! Thank you

The whole journey as a totter tumble customer has been amazing. I bought one of their beige rectangle mats to use as a rug in my lounge. I have severe respiratory issues and have to limit my soft furnishings because of dust. I did a search for those baby play mats that link together so I could wash the dust off every week, in the vain hope I'd find something that didn't make my lounge look like a playroom. And that's how I stumbled upon this lovely company!!

I had a few questions before I purchased and customer service were so helpful! And when the rug came...well I was absolutely stunned at how much it looks like a "real" rug. It helps my legs with fatigue when I stand doing house jobs on it, my autistic son absolutely LOVES it and it helps keep him safer on the floor when he is rough playing or having a bad meltdown. But best of all...some mild washing up liquid and water each week and my rug is free of dust and dirt! Life changing for someone with my health issues. Thank you TT!!

I am so impressed with our playmats I simply couldn’t rave about them enough! So much so, I now have 4. Delivery speed was exceptional each time which was a huge bonus. My children are older now but we have all laminate floor downstairs so decided to go with these due to not only how practical they look, but how easy they are to clean. We have a large dog so normal rugs were trapping loads of dog fur - I just sweep over these and they’re fur free! My youngest daughter uses the runner as a gymnastics mat as it’s convenient to roll up and take outside. We also have one in the kitchen for comfort- it’s a dream to stand on and spills are easy to wipe up. So to summarise…. I highly recommend Totter + Tumble and have done so to my friends and family! Excited to see new designs in the future.

Our Totter and Tumble Playmat has been a staple in our house since we had our first child in 2020, and now we have a second baby its got many years of playing left; it looks great, its durable and feels far better quality than some mats other parents we know have which gives you that sense of reassurance that your babies are safe & comfortable

Spent £300 on a Rug/Playmat.. no contact number for the company or the delivery company (DX Express) whom I’ve never heard of! Waited in all day on the delivery day. It never came. Tried to arrange redelivery for next day. It confirmed they would deliver next day. Next day came and I’ve been told by company that it’s coming the day after now.. however I’ve had no updates from the Delivery Company. So I went online, I checked and indeed they have somehow for some reason changed the delivery day without my knowing. The response rate of the customer services email with the company is slow… I’ve asked for a refund as after my experience and looking at other reviews. I’m certain I do not trust this company and now I’m worried I’ve been scammed or something.

Problems came within a few months, a patch of the playmat started to fade. It continued to fade and I reached out to customer services. I always followed the instructions for cleaning (which is a whole other issue!) but the number of emails backwards and forwards, questionnaire completed and still they were still suggesting that it was something that we had done to damage it. Eventually after MANY enraged emails they offered me a 50% refund or a replacement. At this stage I was so angry at their customer services that I was adamant that I should be offered a full refund as the product was clearly faulty. They disagreed. Many more emails. And finally they begrudgingly offered a full refund as a goodwill gesture. I had to argue that the patch of faded mat could have been down to my son jumping up and down on it (he is autistic and this is one of his stims), but this should have been totally fine according to their advertising as should be ok for kids to run, jump and play on! So I'm not sure if they took pity on me eventually to offer the refund.

Please don't be fooled by their advertising of these mats being appropriate for being easy to clean, great for kids with spills etc. When you check their cleaning guide, there are so many restrictions on how to clean! They are not hardwearing at all. You can't use cleaners on the mat, no hoovering, even be careful with using water on it! It is not at all what their advertising would lead you to believe.

I've taken the refund and will not buy one again. Please be wary as I definitely felt misled at the advertising, and was pleased to have something practical I could easily clean when kids spill things or drop food. This is definitely not the case.

Update on my review- we managed to tread some play doh onto the mat which has actually stuck to and damaged it, so it won’t come off. When I tried to clean it it has totally stuck to the mat and after gently rubbing it and has actually removed the pattern. For £160 and a mat that I have recommended to so many new mums as one of my favourite things, I am disappointed. We have had it less than a year and now there’s a big mark in the middle of it. Not ideal.

Very negative experience. I was surprised to have a thoroughly unpleasant disappointment with the company after reading so many good reviews. I ordered two mats in a space of one week and both of them arrived with a hole in the box carried by a very dodgy unmarked van. The company’s response was that damage to the box is common and expected and that there is an inner foil and that I should wash the mats anyway… The inner foil is not actually wrapping the mat completely so it doesn’t protect it in case of damage to the outer box. The suggestion that the luxury expensive mat for babies should arrive in a condition that requires washing is also curious.
Regarding the quality of the mats themselves they are plasticky and not pleasant to touch and the chemical smell is absolutely unbearable. After 3 days of off gassing in our living room we moved them to the garage and never looked at them again. Because they were unwrapped I couldn’t return them.

My kids love their play mat! It's so comfortable and they spend hours playing Lego on it, making dens and doing jigsaws. It also works really well with my decor, adding a subtle pattern without feeling 'kiddy'

Love my Totter & Tumble playmat, makes the hard tiles in my kitchen so much safer and more comfortable for my 6 month old. I got the round size so I can move it between rooms, also the design is lovely!! I had a foam puzzle piece mat for my first born which looked awful and fell apart so quickly. Customer service was also really quick to respond to my questions about sizing too!
