Poor Exchange Practices
I purchased an item (rain gear) on sale and received it. It did not fit well, so I contacted them about doing a size exchange, to which they agreed. I also explained that I had a multi-day group ride coming up that I needed the item for. They acknowledge my circumstances and said to just send it back and they would send the requested size upon receipt. They did not, however, reserve my requested size, and by the time they received my original item (within a reasonable time frame, I shipped it almost immediately) they had sold out of the size that I told them I wanted to exchange for. I had to buy the item from a different retailer at a much higher price (About double). I suspect they were so unaccommodating because they regretted selling the item at such a discount (~50%), and preferred to sell it at full price after the sale had ended, even if it meant losing repeat customer.
I have bought a lot of merchandise from tour cycling in the past, but will no longer shop there as a matter of principle. Plenty of other websites sell the same merchandise at the same MSRP while offering customers more accommodating service.

Caring customer service
While slow to respond to voice mails, they go beyond standard customer service. I inaccurately ordered the wrong shorts. I would have been happy to accept a credit. They went out of the way and replaced the order with the brand I was interested in (at a slight loss as I recall.
