No refund for flight cancelled by the airline…

Booked a round trip InterCaribbean Airlines flight from Puerto Rico to Tortola with Underpricer, via Kayak. (Lesson Learned #1: Use Kayak for research but book your flights directly with the airline, not with Underpricer.)

InterCaribbean canceled our return flight less than 24 hours before departure time. To make our connecting flight home, we had to purchase tickets at an additional cost of $748 on top of the original $620 round-trip fare. When I requested a refund, InterCaribbean said I needed to speak directly with Underpricer. Underpricer offered us a $140 credit (23% of the original round-trip fare) and said the rest had already been paid out and could not be refunded. I appealed and they ended up just closing out our request. So at this point we have spent a total of $1,368 for two 40-minute flights.

Underpricer has also claimed that the terms of the ticket purchase I agreed to said that the tickets were non-refundable. I assume this means that they think that I agreed that they could keep the money whether I received anything in return or not. (Lesson Learned #2: don't ever do business with Underpricer again.)

Worst travel experience ever!!!!

Worst travel experience ever!!!!! They spelled my name wrong even though I input all fields ONLINE! It was hell trying to get checked-in online and my passport verification failed at each city I visited because of this too! Customer Service said they would call me back the 1st time I called and they never did. I called again but they called me back as I was entering the airport! Lame!

UNDERPRICER Fight Insurance SCAM.

Unfortunately my daughter and I had to cancel our trip to Spain, due to her mom's health. She was hospitalized for 3 days in Late April, is still in a rehab center, and may be for another two weeks, then once released, will need daily care for several months. We don't have a full diagnosis, but my daughter is unable to travel, since she will be caring for her mom. I took out travel insurance with Underpricer, but now they tell me this doesn't meet medical cancellation policy of the airlines. Ok, so What. That's why I took out travel insurance. Now they won't cover it and I am out not just the $3,000 plus in flight, but the $150 spent on their insurance. What a waste. Never again.

'Cancel for any reason' is well worth the fee

I purchased "cancel for any reason" insurance on a non-refundable flight ticket for plans while waiting for a visa. When plans fell through, I called to cancel, and the process was quite easy. I received 80% of flight cost back to my original payment method. Everything was smooth and I would use this feature in the future.

Changed flight day and wouldn't refund

Booked a ticket 'direct from kayak,' so I have to take responsibility for not validating who they worked with. The ticket booking went through, but I received an email shortly thereafter that my return flight was moved -by 6 days! I emailed a frantic response (which I never heard back about), and tried to get clarity from the chatbot, but it just said a person would need to call from the company. During the several day wait to hear back, I got new emails daily stating there were more changes, including the cities I was flying to. All these said they were initiated by the airline, but the airline denied and showed me booked on the original flight. I finally got a hold of someone and said I would need to cancel because the flights they are trying to change me to don't work, but contrary to us dot regulations they said the cancellation fee would be $1200. I highly recommend avoiding this company. I'll be out thousands of dollars having to rebook with a reputable company.
