Not worth the extra money

As a very happy owner of two Eagle One V1’s, I decided to “upgrade” to the Pro for the simple reason that i kept getting flat tires and i wanted to go tubeless. I understand that doesn't mean never having a flat tire again, but it was becoming so frequent I wanted a backup, hoping to make the Pro my primary ride.

Here’s my take on the difference:
The #1 reason the Pro is worse than the V1 is it lacks a damper on the steering to keep it stable at high speeds. It feels like an accident waiting to happen. Out of the box the suspension is much stiffer, so lacking a damper, every bump in the road destabilizes the steering a bit, which requires EXTRA attention to steer straight. The V1 had a much softer ride and a damper, so riding 35mph (roughly its top speed for me at 265lbs) was WAY less nerve-wracking.

Pluses for the Pro:
Stem locking system is 1,000 times better
The headlight is great, the V1 light was pointless
Haven't ridden enough, but I’ll assume the battery lasts longer.
Top speed (on a flat, bump-free road) was 41.
Tubeless 11” tires vs tubed 10”
The display is pretty, but not sure how accurate it is battery-wise, as I haven’t pushed it that far

Things I don’t like (aside from no damper):
The thumb throttle vs the finger throttle. It was much easier to dial in a speed (especially slow speeds) with the finger throttle. The old throttle had the display (speed, battery, etc) built in, so I guess it isn't compatible with the new lcd display.
The platform is a bit more narrow
It feels like I’m more vertical (weight forward) which also feels less safe.
The grips shift a bit, while the V1 didn’t (this is nit-picky)

Brakes seem the same.
Not sure how well the fenders work at keeping the rain from kicking up (the old fenders didn’t do much)

I brought the damper issue up with customer support, and while they were decently responsive, they kept telling me it had one (but it doesn’t). At this point, whatever….I threw the box away, so I’m going to keep it as a backup when I have flats on the V1. The extra 6-7 mph isn't worth the potential road rash, and it definitely isn't worth the extra money. If the V2 or V3 have a damper (nobody at Varla could answer that question), buy one of those instead.

Customer service is great and they help keep my two scooters going.

I have had contact with Varla Customer Service a few times and every time Sylvia has taken the time to answer my questions, send me accessories when I need them, and kept in contact with me to make sure I'm a satisfied customer. She always does this in a timely manner and I always know I will get a timely response to my emails. She does a great job. As for my scooters, I have a Pegasus that I love and ride the most. It's very sturdy and it gets me around town to all my appointments. It's fun to ride. I also have a Falcon that I use when I just want to cruise and enjoy my time out. It's not as fast as the Pegasus but it's just as fun to ride. Overall for what I've spent on the two scooters, Varla has done an excellent job keeping riding and happy.

Recent Experience with Varla Scooter web site

a. Website is easy to navigate.
b. Contact information is available is the need arises to contact Varla Scooter.
c. Drop down menus are clear and concise and take the end user to the respective content.
d. Under the help center tab, it would be nice to have a title (Scooter repair/replacement procedures), then links to repair/replacement procedures for parts/components for each of the 5 scooters offered by Varlar.

Robust..... I'd Recommend For Teens 👍

On YouTube videos guys are flying on the Pegasus 🤣
Unfortunately it only goes 24mph but it's sturdy and will last. The split rim design makes for easy tire changes. I also have a Mantis Pro that goes 42mph so maybe I'm not being fair. But I only paid $995 for the Mantis so they are similar price. It's good not great.

Don’t buy this scooter…

I bought this scooter early August 2024, I still have not been able to use it. The company needs quality control guidelines in place that work. Tire that doesn’t hold air, new tire/wheel/motor assembly that vibrates, now I am waiting on another new wheel assembly. All this warranty work requires labor, that I have to do, what sense does that make? And I have yet to receive a single torque specification on any not and bolt. Just a bunch of silent videos that are terribly filmed
