They made both the same and made us out to be stupid in front of other staff and customers when we queried it.
A customer started a disagreement and the manager lied and said they weren’t causing an issue laughing at us and making nasty comments about us being stupid etc

I was completely ignored at the bar by completely unaware bar staff. It was quiet but the bar staff still couldn't work out who was next to be served. I stood just opposite a bartender for two minutes as he served someone. He saw me, acknowledged me and then served someone who has arrived at the bar 2 minutes after me. We were the only people at the bar.

Popped out for a QUICK MEAL at 5.30 at the thomas waghorn , placed order at 18.09 food arrived 25mins later ( its never great , chips taste like they have never been fried) told then drinks would be 10 or 15 mins more . At 10 past 7 went down to get a refund , people were already kicking off asking for drinks or refunds . At that moment he had to give refunds to 3 tables at once . It doesnt take more than a minute to pour a drink , one of mine was just a can . Not the 1st time on a Saturday, last time it WAS manic ,this time a normal saturday
Good food, rude patrons
The food in berkhamsted was no complaints.
However the customers were rude.
I went for breakfast and a rude family tried to get me to move by grabbing my shopping bag whilst I went to order.
Then they sat next to me and got the junior aged kids to be noisy and the adults kept coughing loudly. When I got up and moved they miraculously stopped coughing. Why wetherspoons allows kids but not dogs is a joke. Most dogs are FAR better behaved than kids in pubs.
Overall the experience was good
Overall the experience was good. Lovely atmosphere, several areas to sit. I went with my partner and 2 kids. There were kids in the pub when we arrived. I ordered our food, the lady behind the bar was very helpful and let me check the order with my partner before putting it through. My youngest is autistic and was screaming through his dinner experience. The bar lady didn't make a comment about the noisy child at the table, all the staff smiled at us whilst we were trying to console our youngest. But what annoyed me was we were served very hot plates with the kids food. Children are sensitive to hot things and my children couldn't even touch the plate or the food because of the temperature. I get the food has to be cooked through before you serve to customers but just dont put it on a hot plate! Otherwise our experience was nice.

I regularly visit various Wetherspoons in the London area so this is across the menu board and has become the norm unfortunately. Due to a dietry situation the jacket potato and noncarne is my regular meal but no more. The last 3-4 times now the potato has shrunk and extremely dry with barely a few tablespoons of chilli sauce making it difficult to swallow being so dry and un-appetising. I'm so disappointed that l am no longer ordering food, the rest of the menu is mostly over processed and poor selection for non-meat eaters. Why do you get a bowl of salad dressing that is mostly wasted but less chilli that has barely half a dozen pulses/beans. Not good enough so one regular customer lost. The staff are always the best but now the food quality supplied has gone way down hill.
The Bottle Kiln - Harwich 5 Stars!__
We had a 3 night brilliant stay at the Bottle Kiln, Harwich. The welcome by staff was amazing and throughout our stay the staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was decorated to a very high standard, was well furnished and was very clean and comfortable. The Housekeeping team were great looking after us and daily couldn’t be faulted. The room was cleaned, furnished daily with complimentary beverages and sweet treats. We had meals in-house and every meal requested was presented well and was hot. Overall we had a great experience so much so that the entire team deserve recognition and praise. Well done and thank you!
Ordered 5 breakfasts
Ordered 5 breakfasts. 3 came out, 2 were stone cold. Had to ask where 2 were and was told they were ordered separately. Then they came out. Had we realised each breakfast was cold and not kept quiet, maybe one of all 5 could have been warm. Definitely not going back. Staff member was rude when asked, walking off not even coming back to check on us.

We are in Blackpool and have just had the pleasure of eating at the Albert and lion. It was by far the best meal and service I have ever had in a weatherspoons!! The food was well presented and fresh. And the staff were very helpful. Well done the Albert and Lion😊

Enjoyed a 2 day break at the Bull n Stirrup in Chester. Very comfortable nights sleep, room had everything we needed and some, water pressure weaker than would like.Staff were very welcoming, beverages excellent value. Food good value breakfast, sadly eggs not as hot, cooler. Happy to recommend and would stay again. Thank you.
Unpalatable experience
Difficult to believe that experience like this still exist.
Review of The Cross Keys Beverley
Review of The Cross Keys, Beverley
Dear Wetherspoons,
I’m genuinely sorry to have to write this review.
I’ve enjoyed dining at many Wetherspoons across the country over the years. Some experiences have been excellent, some just okay, but overall I’ve always appreciated the value for money and consistency.
For the past two years I’ve been a regular visitor to The Cross Keys in Beverley and have recommended it to friends and family many times.
Up until about two months ago, I could almost guarantee a hot, well-presented meal served promptly, even during busy periods. Sadly, that standard seems to have slipped badly.
Around six weeks ago, my wife and I visited for breakfast. Normally it’s one of the good meals — good food at a great price. But on this occasion both breakfasts took far too long and arrived completely cold. The waitress agreed when she checked the food, and said it would be reordered, but by then we’d already been waiting 40 minutes, so I suggested they could just microwave it. Thirty minutes later, still no food.. When I asked if our food was ready, I was told there had been a miscommunication between the manager and the kitchen, and we didn't have anything to eat.. I did receive a full refund, but I left unhappy and disappointed.
Two weeks ago, I gave it another try at teatime and ordered the large mixed grill. To say it was horrendous is an understatement — cold, poorly presented, and seriously inedible. The steak, and other meat was either badly overcooked or left under the heat lamps too long, and the rest of the meal was no better. I didn’t complain this time, but again I left dissatisfied.
Today, I decided to give The Cross Keys a final chance with the all-day brunch. The plate was dangerously hot, the eggs were dried out, the bacon and sausage were tough and unappetising, and the chips seemed baked rather than fried. The only positive was the bread and butter, which was fine.
Frankly, I think the pub needs an undercover visit from senior management — and possibly even a check from environmental health, judging by how dirty the staff area behind the bar appeared. In my opinion, the staff don’t seem to care about what leaves the kitchen, and many of them are young and clearly inexperienced in food preparation and service standards.
I’ve had fresher, hotter, and better-cooked meals from roadside cafés.
What was once one of the best Wetherspoons is now, without doubt, one of the worst.
The Moon Over Water Central Manchester 5*
The Moon Over Water Central Manchester.
We were in Manchester for a four day break, and as we use Wetherspoons where we live we decided to try the above pub.
Absolutely fantastic service with a smile , the tables we always wiped clean and menus easily displayed on the tables.
Katie the shift manager( when we visited) for breakfast and lunch couldn’t have been more helpful. She oversaw the running of the bars in a very professional manner. Her staff were the best we have come across. Food served quickly and always piping hot. Well Done !

We used to dine at Wetherspoons once a week but this year we have only been a very few times since you changed your menu. No more half a chicken, it was Devine, no more steak, it was not bad, no more curry, last one had very little meat if any. I eat very little bread so no burgers, along with bread I do not eat breaded food, ie chicken or scampi etc coated in breadcrumbs. We have decided we will not be back except for a beer now and then and believe me that may be once a year.
Awful
Had a lovely day in Edinburgh. Stopped at The Booking Office for some lunch. Sat outside as it said dogs not allowed. My dog was sat under the table out of the way. Our food was delivered and we’re were asked to eat and leave as dogs are not allowed - even sitting outside!!! I was very embarrassed in front of other customers. Spoke to the manager and said it should be made clear dogs are not even allowed outside. Spoilt what was. a lovely day trip
Fan of Wetherspoons but not in Billericay
I'm a fan of Wetherspoons generally but had a really bad time at The Blue Boar in Billericay. Probably the worst food I've ever had, not what was ordered and it "couldn't be sorted" according to the kitchen. Very unusual for a Wetherspoons and obviously problems and "attitude" in the kitchen in Billericay. Won't rush back
Why drink anywhere else.
Why drink anywhere else.
Steak and ale pudding mash and peas with a pint £9.10 after 2 pm. You'd be silly not to.
The Jack Fairman's JD Wetherspoons Horley
It's now been 5 weeks since I was charged 2 breakfasts instead of one at this place. Spoke to the manager, Robin 3 times. She promised she would escalate this issue, but I still dont have the amount paid back to me. Everytime I've phoned there, the arrogance of the staff picking up the phone is disgusting. The last time I phoned, they lied about the manager not being in, when she was. Surely if someone takes money from you unlawfully, it's considered theft? Avoid this place at all costs.
Roebuck excellent breakfasts
Roebuck - Rayleigh Essex. We have been into the Roebuck in Rayleigh many times over the summer holidays, the staff are always cheerful and friendly and the fruit and pancakes and the breakfast muffin have been perfect, lots of fruit and syrup with the pancakes and the breakfast muffin has been a delight.
