Sooooo disappointed. Went with the family to Wetherspoons Ruthin, I didn't need the menu because I always order a mix grill, to my absolute shock, I was told the mix grills have been dropped, I further couldn't believe I couldn't order a steak either, wow. I ordered Korean chicken, it was absolute crap. Wetherspoons, you have made a massive mistake, I for one will never eat in your pubs again, ever; your new menu is not value for money.

Food Poison , Taken to hospital on Saturday due to a breakfast in Reading Wetherspoons and I'm not joking . I was taken from Reading football Ground asi was very unwell. I was put on a drip had all test done and didn't leave the hospital until 12-30am Sunday I called in there at 9am for Breakfast and it was the 1st meal I had had in 20hrs so I know it was from there and within an hour I was ill with a fever, diarrhea stomach cramps etc .

Terrible customers service I’ve never been a fan of Wetherspoons but my friend likes them so contacted them to. Enquire about a function room couldn’t have been more unhelpful there would of been a lot of people so big night for them we have booked with a much nicer local venue thank god I don’t understand why people put up with this kind of service and food quality very poor

Stayed overnight. Spotless room and bathroom with everything you needed, including instructions for air conditioning and TV. Ate an evening meal and breakfast. Both were great and great value. The beers were well kept. Queuing times were all short.

Rude, ordered a bottle of wine in Wetherspoons Shrewsbury (Shrewsbury Hotel) was bought to us, slammed down on the table and offered no glasses to drink it from. Don’t mind but we visit regularly but not again. Poor attitude.

went out to celebrate two birthdays and chatting and having a great time, friend went to buy me a last drink at the bar and was refused said they are not serving our group because the person buying my drink was drunk, we was not told that there was a person drunk at anytime and when discussed they said the person was told to leave, we said that if this was the case why was we not informed as we would have dealt with the problem, as far as we was aware no one in our group was drunk and told to leave, and could not back it up as all of us told the manager that everyone in our group was having a nice time and if we knew of anyone they thought was drunk we would have removed them ourselves.
emails was written they wrote one back but i asked them to check cctv as we knew they was wrong and they never bothered to check and email back.
I was told by others that is what they do if they do not like to serve they use this as an excuse

Fantastic! Staff were helpful and the Buffalo burger was absolutely amazing, especially with an additional filling of maple-cured bacon 🥓 😋

Burnt toast, raw bacon, inedible hard eggs. Disgrace. Staff lethargic, weekly breakfast with family, but never again. Worst ever breakfast. Avoid

I visited the Lister arms Ilkley today with my grandad I got the Mushroom Benedict. And was very nice. We Also had two filter coffee which was nice. A very nice experience and the waitress served me my breakfast and took my plate away now problems. 😁

Very disappointed with my small American breakfast with bacon today.
Whilst the pancakes were light, they were cold. The maple syrup was watered down. The bacon was so small it was easily hidden under 1 pancake, and was mainly fat. Not good value for money.

I recently learned that the shift leader of the Weatherspoon's in Barnsley is on the Clare's Law register for assaulting and abusing his ex-wife, and has been outed online for chatting up minors. The ex-wife and her friends have all been barred from the premises in an attempt to protect him, which is absolutely disgusting.

Enjoy my regular jaunts to Spoons for dinner, but very disappointed no steak or gammon on the menu, and not keen on the burger menu because dont want the carbs, just want protein.

I visited The Sovereign of the Seas pub in Petts Wood today and ordered the breakfast meal with 4 pancakes, maple-cured bacon, and maple-flavoured syrup. We chose to dine in.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the meal. The pancakes were a little cold, like they had just been warmed up in the microwave. They were also stiff and quite hard to chew. On top of that, the way the food was presented on the plate didn’t look nice at all. It looked so basic and without any effort of presentation at least which made it quite unpleasant to look at. There also wasn’t enough bacon. I don’t think I would be ordering this again and I wouldn’t recommend this either.

I do want to say the staff by the cashier/bar was friendly , which we appreciate. But sadly, the pancakes didn’t meet the standard we’ve come to expect from this pub. We are regulars and we’ve always enjoyed their Full English breakfast, especially the Freedom breakfast. That’s why today’s experience was disappointing.

Unlimited coffee - very good as always.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality and presentation of the food.

Empty steak and ale pudding! I know it's cheap, but for the third time now my steak and ale pudding contains a few (three this time) pea sized morsels of 'meat' and a smudge of 'gravy'. The rest is hot air. It really is taking the ****!

I realise it's a competitive market and pennies count but my partner had a curry, the bowl had curry in it, I had a pudding, the suet had virtually nothing in it. How much more does it cost to fill it? 20p? Maybe even not that much on mass scale.

I use Spoons quite a lot all over the country. Unfortunately my local one is Sowerby Bridge, which is generally not great.

I often get their fish and chips. However they've got rid of the sauce sachets and replaced them with bottles. Fair enough - but now there's no Tartar sauce! My complaint to Jessica behind the bar was dismissive. She had no clue that the sauce was none existent and after marching me around to the condiments table, blamed HQ and abandoned me. I later ordered a drink from behind the bar as the App was showing my beer unavailable. It was available - I could see the pump was operational. I mentioned this to Jessica who was quite sharp with me - as if it were my fault for having the temerity to provide feedback.
Her response was poor. Along the lines of - obviously it's available! I might have expected her to thank me for the feedback and a promise to pass on to her line manager, to get these issues fixed -an apology would have gone a long way.

At this point the irritation at my feedback being dismissed got the better of me and I told her that I was going to complain.

It's been over a fortnight and still no Tartar sauce.
Today I had to move tables as the door was open next to the smoking zone. The smoke being pulled straight in.

When I mentioned this to another member of staff and suggested closing the door and putting the air conditioning on, she said it's turned off due to complaints. I replied I would rather get a bit nippy than get lung cancer. There was no thought as to managing the Aircon is turn it on and off as required.
I know the ONE table affected. The Aircon vents blasts straight down onto it. It's been like this for years! This would be an easy modification if anyone cared to raise this upline.They obviously don't care!

In my view, it wasn't too warm, in fact I overheard one lady saying it was cold and kept her coat on.

The solution would have been to close the door, not wedge it open allowing plumes of cigarette smoke into the premises -spoiling it for the majority of non-smokers

On the upside my Ramen bowl was nice once I found a corner where I wasn't choking on cigarette smoke.

It would've been nice to get my coffee cup before the food arrived, not after. But hey, that's all part of the poor and nonchalant service in this specific Spoons.

Wetherspoons were invited to respond. Shockingly, they haven’t yet graced us with a reply.

However, I popped in for a pint this evening – 11 days later, 27/07/2025 – and, lo and behold, Tartare sauce had made a miraculous appearance. Even more thrilling, the door next to the smoking area wasn’t wedged open. It was the evening, so we’ll reserve judgement on the smoke situation for now.

Let’s just say – maybe, just maybe – they’ve taken notice... in their usual, deafening silence.

Well of course we're price sensitive so 'spoons is a no brainer, but aside from an excellent selection of proper beer, whilst popping in for a breakfast (how do they do it for the price!?), I notice free chilled water and glasses for whoever needs it. What a brilliant idea in this hot weather. Kudos to all staff who no doubt sometimes are challenged dealing with the not always so great British public 😉

Barmaid was lovely, food was crap.
Honestly? Worst meal I've ever had in a Wetherspoons Pub. This is including the rock hard vegetables in the "Would Have" (sorry we know about that but there's something wrong with the ovens). Tonight's experience in the "Samuel Adams" reached a new low for me, really crispy wings, Rock hard chicken strips, and chips with curry sauce that were totally uncontaminated with curry sauce, was bad enough. But my Lady Wife's fish and chips was arguably worse. Cold chips. Congealed cold mushy peas, crispy batter that shatters under the fork, but worst of all: Grey fish.
I can't put thus more strongly: I've sold my Wetherdpoons shares. But the barmaid was lovely, so you regain a star - just for her efforts.
