Missing old menu
Always enjoy our visits to wetherspoons and look out for them when we're away. However recently when we were away found ourselves missing the old menu with steak , gammon etc and decided to try somewhere else, not everybody wants to eat burgers all the time

Food has turned a corner.
Since removing the grill from the menu, food has seemed to taken a turn for the worst. I'd regularly hit a Spoons everyday when travelling for work, but recently whichever pub we go to the food just doesn't hit the same.
Please bring back The Grill!
Discussed manager
Having visited the weatherspoons pumphouse in shirley I was told by duty manager sahara on 21/6/26 at 1.30pm
That I was not welcome in here due to a incident 4 weeks earlier about my shirt I was wearing but was never told I was barred for a argument over it on that case we left without a fuss.
Back to this occasion I flipped really is this how weatherspoons except there manager time to be nasty and tweet you like poo this person needs to be moved on or sacked from weatherspoons Tim Martin sort this out if you care about your customers the manager in question was asian with black hair and short she really needs to get customer service people I would say dont go in unless you like being tweeted like poo then go find out yourself
Wetherspoon staff.
Thursday June 19, 2025. I was at the Imperial in Exeter. I lad a problem with some wine and my meal. Danny, the duty manager resolved the problem very professionally.
Many thanks
David.
Samuel LLoyd at Corby.
Out-of-town venue. Spacious, clean, and well equipped.
Three of us had a light lunch; the food was good, served quickly, and great value.
Visited the men's room, not always a pleasant experience. Found them to be spotlessly clean. A credit to the team at Samuel Lloyd. If we lived in the area, we would be regular visitors.
WATERGATE, BARNSTAPLE.
Myself my wife along with my brother and sister-in law attended the Watergate Wetherspoons in June (7 The Strand, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1EU) as we do often. I feel at this stage I must add our ages as we are all between 62 and 68 so no youngsters. We were there from 12:00 until late and had a meal there, my brother-in law ordered all drinks and our meals via the app so everything came to our table.I have never done this and was very surprised when the drinks arrived we were not asked to prove they were our drinks. 10/15 minutes after ordering our last drinks before heading home (£16.06) they didn't arrive so l went to the bar to see where they were to be told the order had gone to the other Wetherspoons in Barnstaple The Panniers. I was surprised this could happen as we had been ordering drinks all day at the same pub but acknowledged the bar man could not do anything so asked to speak with the manager. She was a complete waste of time and no manners.
The manager came out and advised it was my fault as the wrong pub had been selected and said it’s tough that l had lost £16.00 (not the attitude you would expect from a manager of a big establishment, you would at least think she would try to sort it out by either cancelling the order or phoning the other pub to see where our order was and if receipt of drinks at a table was being verified you would expect for them to be returned to the bar). Due to the unhelpful attitude of the manager my l asked for her name so l could put in a complaint but she refused to give it to me so he took a photo of her name badge only no other part of her body, the badge was nameless (again you would think a big establishment would have a named manager on site) at this point l was surrounded by 4 doormen which I can assure you is very intimidating especially when we are talking about a 65 year old man. The doorman insisted that he delete the original photo but l said he was keeping it for evidence because she wouldn’t give her name to him to complain. I didn’t show any aggression or physical movements, in fact the doorman was pushing me in the back walking back to the table, even though l agreed to leave the premises.
I came back to the table to explain to us and we all got up to go out, at that point the presume head doorman caught hold of my by the arms and forced me through the doors to outside. One of the other doorman did apologise to us as you can imagine we were all shocked at the events unfolding in front of us.
Our day which had been a lovely catch up with family all of a sudden turned into a nightmare. We are not the type of people who like confrontation and all feel this could have been handled a lot better with the right management training in place.
Wetherspoons Don't Respect Their Customers
Yesterday lunchtime I chose to dine at their Poynton branch. I had their 'chicken pieces in a basket' which should include a pot of (plum?) sauce and a pot of coleslaw. There was a 30 minute wait, which I wasn't expecting, but when the food did arrive there was no pot of coleslaw. I managed to call back the 'waiter' and when I mentioned this he just shrugged his shoulders, said that they'd run out, and walked away. Bottom line, they didn't supply food as described on the menu and, worst of all, they couldn't be bothered to mention it. They didn't even compensate by providing a second pot of the sauce. Not good enough.
No Steak, no Gammon, no Mixed Grill
Ive been a customer of JDW for many years, (Minehead mostly) they always represented excellent value, very quickly served hot meals with a drink. An efficient App based ordering system that actually works.
Now they have dropped my 3 most favourite meals due costs.
I will remain a customer but JDW may not be my Go To place any more.
Using glasses that are not measurement…
Using glasses that are not measurement stamped as required by weights and measures by law.
This practice is common place in every Wetherspoon outlet, and has been for many years
Thank goodness for Wetherspoons.
Thank goodness for Wetherspoons.
Without this chain we would be paying even more ridiculous prices for beer in pubs.
Good quality and variety of beers also.
Wetherspoons Toilets put most expensive priced pubs to shame.
I can highly recommend the Hotels also.
Only criticism I would have is "no dogs allowed" accross the country which is a shame in the countryside.
Worst I've been to
Three attempts to get my food order right and they ran out of gas for soft drinks 🙄
Nightmare at Henglers Circus Glasgow
Had a nice pre prandial drink before lunch at Chinese restaurant next door. Came back after lunch ordered Jaipur . Not available.
Ordered IPA Glasgow Cross ( light ale)
Received a brown ale ??
Asked at bar and was told Glasgow IPA was brown.
Spoke to management. WAS TOLD I HAD ORDERED BROWN BEER"
Reluctantly was poured a short pint of Joker. With inference that I was too blame.
I showed management ( Guy wouldn't tell me his name??)
He said , he wasn't interested as I had Reluctantly accepted a reduced size of beer.
He wasn't interested.
No customer services sk8lls.
Shambles.
I appreciate, place was busy
But customer services were shocking.
The William Henry in Weymouth!
We visited the William Henry in Weymouth and cannot rate them highly enough. Duty manager Scotty was brilliant. We were a group of 18 with 15 people with learning disabilities. The ordering process went without a hitch and the food came out quickly and without any mistakes! The staff were super friendly and helpful. We even came back for a second night and at Scotty's suggestion we called and let them know we were coming so we could get a table together. We called on the morning and then when we got there we had 2 large tables and a smaller one (for us staff to be able to relax a bit).
The price was so reasonable and the guys enjoyed having such a choice of food. Honestly couldn't thank scotty and the team enough! We have recommended we come back on future holidays thanks so much from the Greendays Team!
The Reed Arms Burnham on sea.
The Reed Arms Burnham on sea.
Atmosphere was good.
Staff service was good
Food was reasonable for the price.
Plenty of conderments.
Nice big premises.
But
Access for the disabled on a mobility scooter is very poor.
Two doors at the front of the building have signs keep clear, which I believe are supposed to be fire escapes, customers sat in the way of the one door and tables and stools in front of the other.
The twin doors at the front of the building has a glass screen in front of them, which I can only assume is there to stop the wind blowing in from the sea front.
But this glass screen is so close to the twin access doors that it's impossible to drive a mobility scooter in.
The disabled person had to get off the scooter, and get an able bodied person to juggle the scooter around the glass screen and around very small sharp turns.
The scooter was one of the small ones that breaks down to go in the boot of a car.
The other entrances at the side of the building have steps.
I expected better for thier disabled customers.
The Green Ginger in Torquay as good as ever....*May 2025
Me and my girlfriend have been using 'The Green Ginger' in Torquay for food and drinks when on our annual hols there for 10 years now.
Food has always been great and its always a great vibe in there with a mixture of locals and tourists. We've never waited more than 10 minutes for food or drinks to arrive, even on some really busy weekend periods. The floor supervisors?... the ones who wear the grey shirts... are also really efficient and race around keep everything running smoothly. The security guards who man the doors on Friday and Saturday nights are also friendly and professional. Its our favourite Wetherspoon's in the whole of the UK and believe me, we've been to a few!
The Liberty Bounds is lacking the charm associated with Wetherspoon
The Liberty Bounds
When we arrived after visiting the Tower of London not one of the employees greeted us. We ordered our food and drinks from the app and were subsequently served by a sullen somewhat sulky man on the upper floor who seemed to be the only one. He placed the drinks tray onto the surface of the table we would be eating off before handing us our drinks. I had ordered ham, egg and chips as it is my pub favourite. When the food arrived the ham was chilled/cold and neither the eggs nor chips were hot as they should’ve been. On top of that all of the condiment containers were greasy. The waiter never uttered a single word during our whole visit and appeared to be grumpy. This is not a good look for the Wetherspoon brand. Both the food and service were in my opinion revolting.
I am however particularly fond of Wetherspoon branches in general for example Knowle, Essex and The King’s Tun in Kingston upon Thames. Central London shouldn’t be an exception to the rule.
Terrible
Terrible, we visited The Narrows in Abingdon. No food for 2 days! Tried the 3rd day and had to wait 45 minutes for a panini! When it finally arrived it was cold and the cheese had not even been melted.
Tried to speak to the Manager but no one available.
Complained to head office and totally not interested!
All reasonably healthy food has gone
All reasonably healthy food has gone, everything is processed or deep fried. We used to have half a chicken or a steak and a Mediterranean salad, between us and we used to love it. We can't go anymore as I don't want to put on weight!
Steak and gammon gone so they wont be…
Steak and gammon gone so they wont be getting our custom any more. menu just like 100 others in the area and would rather support local than pay money for a lazy menu. Goodbye wetherspoons, its been an experience knowing you
