Too much required on fees.
The total cost of 3 bottles were 270 GBP, but the extra payments required for delivery and service fees exceeded 180 GBP.

Grabbing and mean spirited.21 days to shift your bottle or storage charge taken from your bank without notice.Shamefull.Other websites like whisky hammer are getting my bids now and are beating you hands down.Bad luck for the future.

Good service, but high comission

The storage fee is way too higher or even highest in all my other companies wine and whisky storage. The management and the system of the stock is chaos. From beginning when they change the new system then some of my important whisky were missing in my stock list and luckily I found it and informed them to correct it but when I order to ship those whisky then after more than 3 weeks later they inform me two bottles are missing. So I feel this is not a reliable company that charges too high storage fee with chaos management. But finally they said they are willing to refund those whisky costs, shipping cost, insurance and storage fee I did paid, and hope they really will pay.

***Update information. Whisky auctioneer is not a reliable company, their promise broken again, they are agreed to refund me the compensation within 5-10 working days due to they loss my storage bottles in their warehouse but now already over 10 working days and do not have any information that the fund transferring to my account and I’m going send the case to my solicitor to ask the compensation now. Because the situation started from 12 June till now already over two months, Whisky Auctioneer still not solve it.

Item was exactly as advertised. Shipping costs to USA were extremely expensive. That's my only drawback.

Very fast delivery, well-packaged, matches the photos.

A good service, except:
- not transparent on the post hammer additional costs for EU lots (these are more than double UK lot extras. They couldn't even explain one line item added by their courier)
- the EU to UK courier is a contact free operation that doesn't explain anything either
- UK lots delivered to UK are a model of transparency and efficiency by comparison.
- ludicrously dragged out auction close (all thousand plus lots must be static before any lot closes) individual closes per lot would be much less inconvenient. Their method leaves one hanging on the website for hours of uncertainty compared to short closes close to the advertised deadline with competitors.
- minor bug in the auction software causing incorrect winning bid display

They routinely list material of interest. I will happily use again despite my reservations while this remains so.

I really enjoy your website's auctions; there's always a wide variety of items. However, I find the shipping costs quite high because I have to ship everything back to Hong Kong each time. When I buy whisky from other websites, their express delivery prices are only a third of yours. I hope you can consider this aspect!

I was very satisfied from start to finish!

Your auctions consistently have the best assortment of Japanese whisky and really interesting bottles. Unfortunately, the way the auction is set up is frustrating. Rather than have lots close at a set time, with last minute bids extending individual lots. The entire auction stays open for 5-6 hours after it’s supposed closing time. It pushes all the bidders to wait until the last minute but with no real understanding of when it will end. I’ve had lots triple in cost during this added time. It would be much more enjoyable if everyone bid lots up during the normal auction time limit, with extra time reserved only for those lots with multiple bidders still contesting it.

Large selection, very well organised, great to do business with them. Highly recommended.

Purchased a rare bottle for a friend’s birthday.

The website did state multiple time that there would be extra cost. Shipping and duties, doubled the price of the bottle. Unfortunately I just wasn’t willing to spend that.

For a small fee, I easily put the bottle into their provided storage, then back into the next auction. The staff worked with me to facilitate the process and it went very smoothly even with the time difference for communications.

Don’t be like me and do your research before you bid!! The shipping and duties can add up quickly!!

Highly recommend to others who are on that side of the world or who don’t mind paying.
