The worst pet insurer
I was with Pet Plan and I was very happy with them, but had to change to a cheaper insurer as the monthly cost had gone up and it was too much for me to afford. I switched to this pet insurer and this was the biggest mistake I have ever made. They have disputed both my claims and seem to look for loop holes to not pay out. I am strongly of the opinion that they coerced my vets into agreeing that stress cystitis is behavioural (On the first claim), where there are many different opinions online and most agree that there is also a physical element, which they completely ignored. I would strongly advise you against using this insurer.
Update: I contacted Whistle and Wagg after they requested I contact them in relation to this post. They basically said their decision still stands. What a waste of time.

Having had pet insurance for many years, I have never known a company to do a no payment for take home medicine, which would be automatic if your insuring your pet for illness and accident, I found out too late, they change the rules all the time, they don’t give you any guidance, always read all the small print, this was done on a renewal, apart from that they have paid the rest quite quickly

Just to clarify, our policies are bespoke and tailored to each pet’s needs at the time of purchase or renewal. Cover for take-home medication is available as an optional add-on and has always been this way with clear sign posting and explanation.
We would never change your policy cover without permission from you, even at renewal, this is something you can do at anytime throughout your policy period.

Purchase of a policy very straight forward on line, with clear documentation.

I’ve had a very positive experience with Whistle & Wag pet insurance. When I made a claim, it was paid out quickly and without any hassle. They were incredibly sensitive and compassionate when my cat passed away, which made a very difficult time a little easier. They even refunded my last payment promptly. Excellent product for Pet insurance I have taken out.very affordable with good cover.
Easy online application
Needed to contact Customer service team by email. Fantastic service by the team, very quick responses and queries dealt with efficiently with appropriate information. Was a bit worried there wasn't a telephone contact but with such a speedy email service a phone number not important to me.
Overall exceptional.

Great Service! I've unfortunately needed to make two claims in the three years or so since we've had the policy. Each time the service from Whistle & Wag has been excellent with quick responses to any questions. I also appreciate that there is full and clear transparency in the policy documents. Would give zero but unable to, terrible insurers find a reason to dispute claims.Both times I’ve submitted a claim it’s come back with “pre existing condition” or some loop hole that shouldn’t be allowed but somehow is - This time she had to go to the emergency vets its been put down as her ears which is a pre existing condition, even though the vet was unsure and cleaned her ears incase. Take my advice and don’t bother using this company. I should have realised I’d made an error when the vets hadn’t heard of this insurance company. Utter joke

After looking into your case, I can confirm that your pet’s medical history shows the condition began prior to you taking out insurance with us. As is standard across the insurance industry, conditions that are ongoing prior to taking out insurance would be classed as pre-existing.
