Two months after signing — no response, no installation, no accountability

I signed a contract with Arise Solar in August 2025, after being clearly told that installation would occur in October. It’s now been over two months, and I still have no confirmed installation date and no meaningful response from the company.

After repeated calls and emails, I was finally told that “stock is not there,” with vague promises of a possible installation “sometime in November.” Since then — complete silence. No follow-up, no update, and no indication of when, or even if, the work will happen.

This level of disorganisation and lack of communication is unacceptable for a company advertising itself as professional and reliable. I’ve had to escalate the matter to Consumer and Business Services SA just to get some accountability.

Lack of communication as to status of battery installation.

A few years ago, Arise installed solar panels. The consultant, Roger, could not have been more helpful.
This year, I initiated solar batteries being installed. I was assigned to a consultant named Jeff. The difference could with Roger could not be more different. Jeff is an extremely poor communicator. I have complied with all his requests to provide information and photos. I paid my deposit. I have not heard anything from Jeff from my requests as to when my system would be installed I am happy to forgo my $100 deposit to change to another more reliable provider.
I had noticed that competitors to Arise, like Sunboost, were continuing to advertise on TV, when Arise had stopped. I had been concerned that Arise may have been experiencing financial difficulties. I certainly want no further dealings with incompetent Jeff.

Conflicting Communications.

As far as the battery install was concerned everything went extremely well, quite efficiently. As far as communication side and referral bonus side 0.5 out of 5. they do not seem to care once they have your monies, everything is negligible to them. We were promised a referral bonus, referred four (4) jobs to arise, last install was nearly Eight (8) weeks ago, several emails between, nothing, they are not interested in upholding their word. Their word means "NOTHING"

!!!DON’T USE ARISE SOLAR!!!

After a back and fourth communication and constant discussion about solar/usage and cost/benefit analysis I arrived at my decision to get a 13.6kw system with 15kw battery and inverter. I submitted photos of the power box and proposed battery location as requested. I asked for an ALL INCLUSIVE quote (No surprises- start to finish/switching on my power inclusive quote).

Everything was going well with helpfulness and customer service until I paid my first instalment of $6990. I was told it would be 2 months from first booking to the installation of my Solar, then possibly two weeks until I would have a complete solar system with inverter/battery etc. After paying the first half of the job $6990 this is where things took a dramatic turn for the worst.

Each and every time a booking or inspection was made the team arrived on the wrong day- awful if you work shift work and need sleep.

I had submitted requested photos and on the first day was told I’d have to give the boys an extra $1500 cash on the day to put battery and inverter in a new location because it was too close to the hot water system. (Even though the photo I supplied them for the location of the battery/inverter has the hot water system visible). “But Miss it’s because of the length of the cable needed and yes miss we didn’t know that the hot water was there.” It also meant we now had to pour a slab for the said inverter/battery.

You’d think this would be simple enough however between the call centre and the installers we were given 3 different measurements and sizes for the slab. With each contradictory measurement being punctuated with a “but Miss I AM TELLING YOU what the measurements are so you can do this” followed by another call to double check measurements only to be told a different set of specs. The level of arrogance in these guys’ voice you’d think they were never wrong, it was quite the opposite. They were wrong every.single. time. It would seem no one knew the specs for the battery/inverter. As we were quickly learning clearance is required from pumps/pipes/windows and doors it is extremely important from a compliance perspective to have accurate measurements. Ironically within the Arise company they refer to each other as ‘experts’ a term I have learned through experience is a term used loosely if you’re from another country.

After approx 10 phone calls and 4 change of minds as to the aCtUaL measurement of said system we finally poured the slab.

A stroke of luck did come our way when I was chatting to a leccy mate who pointed out my power box was at the back of the house and it would require a MAJOR upgrade being moved to the front of the house before having the solar turned on.

At this point Arise solar has conducted three site inspections. At no time did they flag this as an issue. I called Arise to question if the quote included all costs for the upgrade. “Yes Miss.” I shared my concerns that a mate had said the meter box needs to be at the front of the house. “What Miss?! Why didn’t you tell us where your meter box was? The guys on site didn’t tell us it was at the back!? Miss you must tell us. You will need to get someone to move it locally before we switch the power on.”

Right so I have to pay an extra $5000/$8000 to move a meter box that wasn’t included in the price mid work. I brought it to their attention again that the quote was all inclusive. His response “yes miss it is but you will need to get someone to move your power box!”

If they weren’t catty in their tone of voice on the phone they loved to pontificate how I should get things fixed so they could continue their work. At no point did they take ownership or acknowledge any obligation from their company to be true to their word. It was a master class in avoiding responsibility. They then ghosted me for 3weeks. No phone call nothing with boxes of sh*t left all over the place.

I’ve since requested a refund. Hopefully I get my money back. $6990. I’ll update the post once I get it.

I am the real customer 932070

I am the real customer, contract number 932070. I paid AUD35,000 for my entire system plus the solar battery. They kept changing the brand from when i first quoted after i paid and signed the contract. They abuse every right of you as a consumer. They were very pushy to get the deposit then It took them 2 years to come install it but they didn't do proper job. When you kept ringing them to ask, the person who sold the system to me Davis changed his attitude and was very rude. Besides, they sent different electrician everytime. Their electrician didn't advise us that our meter wasn't compatible and they turned on the system which cost us a AUD 7000 electricity bill with Origin, which we're still paying off. They promised to speak to their manager, it's been 3 years, no solution. After all the hassles, they finally sent someone to install my solar battery, but it stopped working after 8 months. I contacted them, they told me they had no electrician to come to my area. That solar battery costs about AUD 10,000! They promise to call back, but they never. They apologise but no solution. Their warranty is bullshit. They just will not come to fix it when the system is faulty. Please do not waste your money. Those AUD35,000 is definitely my hard earned money. I am still dealing with Jesse and Ethan about my solar battery, i do not even know if that's their real name and it has been another 7 months of frustration now! Terrible. But if you're like me facing the same issue with them, do save every conversation you have with them for legal action.

Quite possibly the WORST company I have…

Quite possibly the WORST company I have ever dealt with. It took 4 months to get my battery installed. It has been in for 2 months and trips constantly. The customer service personnel are so rude and rubbish. They say they’ll call you back and never do. Then they get annoyed when you follow up and are annoyed no progress has been made. I had to request to be kept in the loop. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It has been 6 months of solid headaches and excuses from this disaster of an organisation. They’re nice and helpful until you pay your deposit and then they ghost you. If I could give them zero stars I would! If they dare write back and tell me to call customer service, I will have over 20 emails and phone calls already logged to that useless division.

FIRE 🔥 HAZARD + HOLE IN CEILING

They use apprentices who are unsupervised and work not checked as I was left with no lights as wires were connected incorrectly, overloading and tripping circuit. FiRE HAZARD 🔥 for nearly a week in 2 story with 2 young children. I also found a hole in my ceiling by looking up whilst taking a shower. The hole was patched, leaving paint, dust and plaster everywhere for me to clean up. It's been over 2 weeks and heard nothing about the sanding and painting still needed. I have now had to pay someone to fix and finish and electrician to make sure we are safe without fire hazard. They told me they can't compensate me as the amount being paid just covers cost of panels and inverter, how insulting. Companies make profit to exist and people don't work or provide services for free!! Guess I will get some court clothes!

I had solarDisappointed with Arise Solar Installation and Support installed by Arise Solar on…

I had solar installed by Arise Solar on 14/08/2024, expecting a seamless process and reliable support. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory.

After noticing an issue with no energy transfer from the inverter to the power meter, I first reported the problem on 25/09/2024. Despite raising detailed observations, the job was closed prematurely, forcing me to chase up Energex (distributor) and Alinta (retailer) repeatedly. After months of effort, it was finally proven that the issue stemmed from incorrect wiring during installation, which is Arise’s responsibility—not the energy provider’s.

It has now been over three months since I first raised concerns, and I am still unable to access the feed-in tariff. This has caused significant financial loss and stress, particularly as I am on a disability pension. Despite follow-ups, including an email sent on 28/11/2024, Arise has not provided a resolution or compensation for their faulty installation.

I am extremely disappointed with Arise Solar's lack of accountability, their premature closure of my initial job, and the ongoing delays in resolving the issue. I cannot recommend their services to others based on this experience.

Didn’t make it to installation

Didn’t make it to installation. 2 dates for delivery of materials went by with no materials or phone call, phone call on a Saturday morning to say delivery is happening today, cancelled our plans again for no to turn up. Same deal with installation after 2 dates when no one called or turned up and never an apology for wasting our time. No communication between their departments. I decided to pull the plug, if this is how hard it is to get materials delivered and installed I can’t imagine what the service would be like if we had a post installation issue

Delay and faulty installation

Arise Solar demanded full payment prior to the installation. It cancelled the installation the day prior to the installation. The installation was done 1 month later and did not work. I had to take time off work on multiple occasions for the technician to come to do further work. When the technician could not fix the fault, they stopped responding. Eventually, I submitted complaint to department of fair trading to get it to fix the faulty solar panel installation. They promised compensation for the delay in installation which never occurred. They later stopped responding to my emails and phone calls.

ALL WORK CONTRACTED - DON'T USE - NO RECALL ON WORK

Arise Solar is a JOKE -This has been an absolute joke from the start - but I'm not laughing.
Were promised a completed install in December before Christmas.
The date kept on moving into mid January.
In a day or two after installation it started to rain.
Water poured in through the roof and out through the light fittings.
Ceiling is very damaged.
Contacted the (Contracted) Installer & Arise Complaints who were going to have it resolved ASAP.
The Installer then tried to blame us for having damaged roof tiles before they installed the panels, although we never ever had any leaks previously..
Although, they said that would come back and replace 4 Tiles.
This was months ago.
It's still leaking and Arise Complaints keep closing the Ticket to have it resolved.
I'm done with Arise Solar and the Solar Installers they use!!
DO NOT USE THEM

Awful experience still fighting for refund

Awful experience, still fighting to get a refund 2 weeks after installation team arrived and said cannot install!

Went through a prolonged quote stage and many to/from emails and calls, we finally paid the deposit and awaited installation date, 5 days later received install date, then team arrived and looked disinterested and said cannot install, roofing screws not spaced correctly for panels and roof too steep.

Was advised Arise would contact us for the next step, sadly not. Called our adviser Steve who advised would check another installation team and call back within two days, no call, then advised would arrange refund and would send forms today, nothing received, then advised forms would be sent today so hold on the phone while he sends them, received and returned straight away but no refund, 1 week later received $100 deposit but not the balance, phoned many times since still not received... Frustrating... Assuming that everything goes right they are OK but when it doesn't wheels fall off!

Avoid these cons at alll costs

ahve been talking to Arise about recieveing a quote for a battery system, It takes the agent almost 2 days to bother replaying to emails if at all when trying to confirm details about teh system that their own contract suggest should be confirmed before hand to avoid unexpected charges. Then they wanted to charge $150 for a site visit no thanks then had argumentitve and rude calls from the sales assistant and this was all BEFORE they had completed the sale I cant imagine how bad it would be after avoid this company like the plague
Follow up: Arise did contact me and still after another 2 weeks of promises failed to call or follow up or reply to my enqury -- even when esclated they are still terrible and this is before they have any of my money

The Good The Bad and the Ugly

Spoiler alert...mostly bad.
Before you consider investing in a Solar electric panel system for your home or business, get educated.
Simply go on YouTube and watch a few videos (there are dozens of great Australian videos) and learn about solar.

I contacted Arise last December after seeing one of their glossy promise you the world adverts on the internet. The GOOD. I had no idea about solar and was guided by Arise salesman.
It was all very easy.

The sales person sounded like he was calling from an Indian call centre. I asked him if they were local? He told me they were located in Brisbane but had local "installers".

These solar companies use Google Earth to look at the roof of your house, use software to arrange panels on your roof and email you a quote.
It's an unregulated industry. Be careful, if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't.

The Arise salesman offered me a 10.2kw system with battery storage. $12,000

When I reviewed the contract the system had been downgraded to a 5.2kw system. The BAD. Bait and switch.

I paid a deposit and then waited patiently for weeks for an installation date.
I contacted Arise by email and received an automated response saying "a enquiry ticket has been created and it may take up to three weeks for a response".
If your solar system fails it will take up to three weeks for Arise to respond to your request for support..!! More BAD.

Out of the blue an "installer" phoned me and wanted to do the installation on a Sunday. I said NO, trades people are prohibited in my village on weekends. The installer then suggested Saturday, again no.

The installer then suggested 12.00 noon on Australia Day. I begrudgingly said yes. The crew showed up at 8.00am More BAD.

The installers walked around my house and told me that it was going to cost more because the storage battery would have to be installed in my garage. The installer was very angry and stormed off without starting the installation...which Arise said would take 5 hours. More BAD.

I contacted Arise and requested the "name and business licence number of the installer"....silence. That was when Arise stopped communicating with me.
The UGLY.

I did have a solar system installed by a local company. They came to my house, discussed my needs, offered me choices in equipment. I am thrilled with the system I finally purchased.
The installer installed a "fire proof" barrier in my garage, this is a regulatory requirement.

Arise's installer said nothing about fire proofing my garage.

Do your homework. Get educated about Solar so that you can make an informed decision.

Would I recommend Arise...Hell No.

Pretty bad experience

Pretty bad experience. I'm usually one to be fairly tolerant as I understand that some processes are convoluded and sometimes things just happen, however these guys really don't have their act together.

Firstly they try to provide good customer support but I just had a random call today from someone there who's first words to me was "arise solar how can I help you". I informed him that he called me and he said he was returning a call from 3 days ago. I told him my concern (that they needed to send the form in to Energy Australia to update my meter to digital) and he informed he he was from the finance department and transfer me, at which point he hung up. It's a small example but this type of thing happens ALL THE TIME with them. I don't know if they outsource everything but I can't understand their staff at all, seems like an Indian call centre (which I have nothing against if the service is good.)

So my story is that they provided a fixed quote without coming to see the property. I informed them there were stairs leading up to the property so they charged me for a two storey installation even though it's a one storey house. We agreed and I though that was that. During installation their contractors told me it will be $250 more because of the stairs. I refused and told them to talk to Arise (as I have no contracts or agreements with the contractors Arise hired.) The contractors basically begged me to agree. After a few days arise got in touch with me (after speaking to 4 different people on the phone) and they finally said the installation will cost me $300 more because of the stairs. I refused and said a fixed price is a fixed price quote, I didn't misinform them and even told them about the stairs which is why we agreed to a double storey installation price.

They decided to quote from images off google maps and street view and didn't come out to the property so they should cover the costs. He said he'd talk to his manager and came back to me the next day asking to split the difference. I felt so bad for the contractors but told them that their company should bear this expense as it was their mistake and it's a fixed price quote. I'm not sure that the contractors were paid for this in the end but at least Arise agreed to bear these costs.

Basically avoid this company. They don't know what's going on and I basically had to do all the paperwork and organising myself.

Worst Company that provide fake quotes…

Worst Company that provide fake solar quotes and do not honour the quoted prices.
Beware of this fraudulent company which provides fake quotes. When you tell them to install the solar system, they inflate the quoted price by saying that was old price and price has gone up now and even change the quoted brands and install cheap products to save money. Don’t use these fraudsters.

A RESOLUTION at long last ! We had a problem with Arise Solar as I…

We had a problem with Arise Solar as I am sure they could not attract workers to do the jobs were we are for over five months. We cancelled our contract with them and they have been more than satisfactory in our receiving our deposits back relatively quickly after cancellation. We did write quite a bad report about their lack of keeping us in the loop, but their quick action in refunding the deposits deserve an accolade from us. Thanks!

Worst solar provider with terrible customer service

I will never recommend Arise Solar to anyone - basically you pay for what you get.
My solar inverter worked for 2 months and then after an additional 4 months, I wondered why my electricity bills were so high....and it was because the inverter stopped working. Arise Solar organised someone to look at the inverter and advised that a replacement would arrive in 1 or 2 weeks. 5 weeks later and nothing. The replacement inverter arrived a week ago and I have received no call regarding the installation. I rang their call centre (most likely in India) and they were no help at all. I basically have to wait for who knows how long for the replacement unit to be installed.
Arise solar have offered no compensation to offset my electricity bill.
The customer service I have received is nothing less than terrible and I suggest that if you are looking for solar, pay a bit extra and get it elsewhere.
The customer service is horrible and I stress that you do not use Arise Solar
