I would like to thank Mara for her outstanding guidance throughout this journey. She has been incredibly attentive and detail-oriented, always ready to address every question with clarity and patience. Her dedication in carefully managing and improving our profile made a real difference, and her support turned the entire experience into something smooth, simple, and genuinely enjoyable. I truly appreciate her professionalism, commitment, and the positive energy she brought every step of the way.

I reached out to my LCC Debra in Pittsburgh multiple times because I was not happy, but Debra was not willing to help me. She passed on the messages I had sent her in confidence to the host family behind my back. She breached confidentiality and was not impartial. Plus she was corrupt and protected the host family ( infact, they even told me). Until the very end she showed me, that she didnt really have an interest in mediating between the aupair and the host family. If Debra would have done her job, im sure my experience would have been different. So if you pick apia, make sure you dont end up in this cluster in Pittsburgh, zero stars for Debra.

I was assisted by Mara; during the interview, she made me feel comfortable and explained everything clearly, always giving the right recommendations. I am very happy.

I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Au Pair program and for the chance to experience life in another country. Working with children has been the most rewarding part of this journey for me, and it has reinforced how much I truly enjoy spending time with them.
However, my experience has also had challenges. During my time in the program I went through two rematches and lived with three different families. These situations were not easy, but they taught me a lot about adaptation, communication, and knowing my own values and boundaries.
I believe the program could continue improving the screening and preparation process for host families and Au Pairs, so that expectations are clearer and both sides can truly experience the cultural exchange the program promotes.
I would also like to highlight that my current LCC has been an incredible support. She has truly made me feel heard and supported during difficult moments. Her guidance and kindness played a big role in my decision to stay and finish the program, and I will always appreciate that.
One thing that was disappointing for me was not being allowed to change my program status to IQ after arriving in the United States. I understand there are policies, but this decision limited some opportunities for me. If I had known this earlier, I might have considered making that change before coming to the U.S.
Despite the difficulties, I appreciate the lessons I have learned and the people I have met along the way. I will continue doing my best to complete my program in a positive and professional way. Thank you for the opportunity and for the experiences that have helped me grow.

My tutor, Mara, followed me carefully in every step, she was very helpful and available, and also friendly and kind. During the interview she made me feel comfortable and at ease, and she was clear in asking the questions.

If I could leave no stars I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If you have any issues with their au pairs and need to request a refund be ready for them to quote you a low amount. They calculate the time you had child care as longer than you actually had child care and try to short you on your refund. When you press on it they just keep giving the same answer. No explanation as to why- just this is the amount of refund. We had child care for 3 months. they are calculating it as 4months. They are refusing to consider the additional $1560.42 extension fee we were charged in the refund calculation and are only using the initial amount of $10,700. They are quoting $5777 refund out of $12260.42 paid to them for 3 mo of care. They are using a table that assumes we had care for 4 months and had only paid $10,700. Pointing out the issues with this calculation has fell on deaf ears so far.

PLEASE I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO HAVE TO SUFFER AS I HAVE. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

**Extremely disappointing after 8 years**

After 8 years with Au Pair In America, we were shocked by how poorly we were treated. An au pair asked for a rematch after telling us we were “too American,” waited until after a major vacation to do so, and then refused to continue watching our children. Instead of helping us reconcile the situation or supporting us as a long-standing host family with a stellar track record, the agency simply removed us from the program and refused to allow us to find a rematch.

We expected professionalism and support, especially after years of commitment to their program. Unfortunately, Au Pair In America failed us when we needed them most. I would strongly caution any family considering this agency.

La mia esperienza con AuPair in America è stata molto positiva. Mi sono sentita seguita e supportata in ogni fase del percorso, con spiegazioni chiare e disponibilità costante.
In particolare ho lavorato con Mara, con cui mi sono trovata davvero bene: è sempre stata precisa, gentile e pronta ad aiutarmi nel strutturare il mio profilo e nella gestione di ogni dettaglio.

I can’t say that everything has been perfect, but I can definitely say that APIA has never left me alone throughout the process. They always guide you, support you, and if you have questions, there is always someone there to help.

Per me è stata l'esperienza più importante che ho intrapreso e che mi ha cambiato, da adolescente incosciente sono diventata un adulta indipendente e coraggiosa. Questa agenzia mi ha accompagnata in tutti i procedimenti prima di arrivare e anche durante l'anno da Au Pair. Ti mette in contatto sin da subito con ragazze come te e che vivranno la tua stessa esperienza nelle tue vicinanze così da non sentirti mai sola e fare amicizie durature da tutto il mondo. L'ho raccomandato a molte ed è sempre una garanzia!
