Better - Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre Avis 

The centre is well managed and clean... spotless.
the opening hours and facilities are excellent... and the staff are friendly... eg sandra. swimming ... and front desk team..eg Lammia.
The 3 pools are all warm and water is not smelling of chlorine or similar.
The centre can get busy when there are gala swims ... and if Saracens Rugby matches are on.
Another minor issue is that when the popular aqua aerobic classes take place there is much less room for the ordinary swimmer.
The weight loss classes run by Billy and Shakyle were also very helpful.
Overall a great sports centre and better than many private ones i have been to in the past

Lamia in reception has been so helpful professional and knowledgeable about the car parking system and everything else me as a Barnet carer and my disabled husband would like to know . she is an exceptional member of staff and obviously enjoys her job because it shows in her commitment to answering questions as promptly as possible even on a Sunday . Excellent facilities, friendly helpful staff from the moment you enter the fitness centre, Lamia in reception always greeting you with a "Good Morning", Carlos the cleaner always on hand when needed, cleaning constantly 😀.
Pool side staff , life guard s Chris and his colleagues ensuring a safe environment keeping an eye the swimmers.The gym upstairs very friendly, Staff very approachable for health and fitness advice ,Tips ( Angelo).Senior management also on hand for any problems that arise.
All in all very happy with Copthall complex, and facilities.

As a regular badminton player at CoptHall for the past four years, I’ve seen my fair share of changes. While there have been occasional hiccups ( like double court booking, the floor is very slippery) the facility overall is good. The reason for this review is Lamia at the reception. She is always calm and patient always remains unfazed and helpful even when extremely busy. On days when she is working, I know I’ll be greeted with patience and a well - organised approach. She handles matters promptly and solves problems with ease, makes the entire experience seamlessly. In an environment with noticeable staff turnover, employees like Lamia are invaluable. She significantly enhances the member experience, and I sincerely hope CoptHall does everything to keep her for a long time .

I swim at Copthall 5 times a week. The facilities are fine and staff (especially Lamia) are helpful. It isn't perfect but I appreciate that I can almost always book a swim, often with no notice. I particularly like the large windows around the pool. My only complaint is that the design of the building means that on a cold day the draught from the main entrance goes through the foyer and hits you as you leave the pool and at the hairdryers. More fire doors with glass panels please to keep changing areas warm.

I joined to be able to swim but the water is just too cold for me with my heart condition so that is very disappointing . The class sizes have increased so a little too cramped but otherwise good . Would like Tai Chi which is not on the programme . Otherwise the staff and teachers are good and I enjoy the classes I go to . The floor of the studio is not cleaned enough too .

Been with Barnet Copthall for a number of years now and find it good value when compared to other local pools/gyms. Easy to park too. They seem to keep adding more machines to the gym :)
Heads up to Lamia at reception who always welcomes you with a big smile ...

I felt so welcome. The staff is hospitable, especially Joyce who showed me around the whole place and gave me necessary information.

I am so glad I switch to better Barnet from awful virgin active . I am so happy with classes and instructors and timing . Everything is so good and the price is so reasonable . I need to share a special thanks to Lamia at the reception Barnet brunch , she is so helpful and kind with beautiful smile she goes out of her way to help .

The joining process is very straightforward, but I quite frankly joined because I wanted to swim regularly. The swimming pool and poolside area are absolutely freezing cold. There is cold air being pumped across the water. I swim fast, but I could only manage half an hour before my hands went purple. I’m now concerned that I am committed for the year to an ice bath

I’v been a member of Copthall for 10years and go 4/5 times a week. From Lamia the friendly receptionist always smiling with a good morning to everyone through to Angelo and his staff in the gym,everyone is friendly. The staff in the Angel cafe are alos always friendly and welcoming especially Ben.

As we rejoin the club after a holiday break we encounter very pleasant service at the counter. The lady in charge was very helpful, patient, friendly and very professional. Our membership was registered in a fast and efficient manner.

I found booking adult improvers swimming lessons online very easy. I have started the lessons, and I am pleased.

Most important - all staff wonderful and very helpful and pleasant. The facilities are excellent at this centre. My wife who has never bin a keep fit person recently joined and cannot stop using the facilities

I have been a member for many years. 5 stars for Lamia at reception. Friendly, greets you with a smile. Very helpful. Will always ask someone if she cannot answer your query. She should be Head Receptionist!!!
Facilities are great. Main pool can be on the cold side- not consistent.There are plenty of activities to do here and people that attend the centre are really nice. Good place to meet others.
Big shout out to Dan, the newest Duty Manager. Very friendly, lovely manner, efficient, helpful and is fabulous at sorting out the much needed thorough cleaning and other things. Another shout out to Alex- Duty Manager. Very helpful, efficient and will sort out things if necessary.

A lot of machines to use and I love how my membership includes swimming for a great amount every month
